JEOPARDY #45 CHEERS!
by Anonymous | reply 276 | April 30, 2025 8:12 AM |
I couldn't believe none of them guessed Cheers. M*A*S*H* with a seating capacity??
by Anonymous | reply 1 | March 19, 2025 1:20 AM |
oUT OF the four people I text watch with i wass the only one who got it right. I thought it was easy as fuck. One guessed SNL and I went wobbly for a second but stuck with Cheers. I thought it was an easy question.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | March 19, 2025 1:28 AM |
I doubt they watch M*A*S*H anymore than Cheers was brought to mind.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | March 19, 2025 1:33 AM |
Who told the fat gal to wear stripes? Man some of her answers made me laugh pretty hard.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | March 19, 2025 1:35 AM |
March Madness will soon be screwing up Eastern time viewership. Sigh.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | March 19, 2025 2:36 AM |
I first thought "Alice" but figured that Mel's Diner only served about 50 people. I then thought of "Cheers" and was correct.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | March 19, 2025 4:44 AM |
I wrote the last comment on the previous thread, damn, I feel old.
Knew it was Cheers right away.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | March 19, 2025 5:46 AM |
Yes, heard the answer and thought they'd all get the question right.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | March 19, 2025 10:52 PM |
Adam reminds me of the husband in the famous 1434 painting The Anolfini Marriage.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | March 19, 2025 11:08 PM |
Economics.
IT'S BEEN ESTABLISHED!
by Anonymous | reply 11 | March 19, 2025 11:09 PM |
Mister Burns coming on strong for double jeopardys.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | March 19, 2025 11:18 PM |
Poor Gollum. A few more answers and he would have won the game.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | March 19, 2025 11:29 PM |
I was really rooting for the 2 challengers. Liked them both.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | March 20, 2025 12:30 AM |
I don't think our current champ has ever gotten FJ right.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | March 20, 2025 12:46 AM |
Which network, R5?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | March 20, 2025 6:22 PM |
CBS is the network.
Jeopardy airs on different channels due to syndication.
The show airs on CBS here for me so I will be affected.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | March 20, 2025 7:46 PM |
And this week’s most beautiful challengers are on today and tomorrow 😩! I just know Alex is going to finally flame out this evening and I’ll never get to see it 😡. 😤
by Anonymous | reply 18 | March 20, 2025 8:58 PM |
I don't think tonight's challenger looks all that sexy.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | March 20, 2025 9:16 PM |
R17 New Englanders can view Jeopardy on WSKB (channel 38).
by Anonymous | reply 20 | March 20, 2025 9:32 PM |
It's been a while since there was a female champion. "I'll take gynecological exams for $2,000 Ken"
by Anonymous | reply 21 | March 20, 2025 10:40 PM |
I observed that as well, R21. I’ve been seeing all the women contestants get defeated pretty badly. Sad. 😞
by Anonymous | reply 22 | March 20, 2025 10:53 PM |
Alex seemed to finally fall into his shirts that are too big for him tonight.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | March 20, 2025 11:43 PM |
Knew Final before Ken finished reading the question.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | March 21, 2025 12:07 AM |
Damn, first show missed.
I hope all Texas teams lose.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | March 21, 2025 12:36 AM |
Mmmmmmm..........Steve Luck! Let's hope he's smart enough to stick around for a while.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | March 21, 2025 11:01 PM |
and.....he wasn't quite.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | March 22, 2025 12:31 AM |
Tough final!
by Anonymous | reply 28 | March 25, 2025 12:24 AM |
Loved that cute Mustafa! Wish he'd won. I hope they give him a second chance.
My husband got FJ immediately. I had no clue.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | March 25, 2025 12:50 AM |
Is Mustafa traditionally pronounced with a stress on the first syllable? I'd always thought it was on the second.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | March 25, 2025 12:51 AM |
I woulda gove the lady “ursa” for bear. I clicked my tongue and said “no fair!” Then Ken turns around and gifts Mustafa with like 4,000 bucks. I think Jeopardy has a bias against ladies.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | March 25, 2025 2:07 AM |
No idea on FJ. Sad that the lady got it right and still lost.
Phoenix!! Who would’ve thunk?
Crazily I said Barrymore like the current champ.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | March 25, 2025 5:07 AM |
Newman was pretty funny.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | March 25, 2025 5:55 AM |
Final today was EEE-ZZZ.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | March 25, 2025 11:30 PM |
I guessed orioles for Final, not obvious to me.
As a geezer, I associate Conchata Ferrell with the 70s television show Hot L Baltimore.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | March 26, 2025 12:00 AM |
Yes, R34, very easy.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | March 26, 2025 1:50 AM |
The Monarch Butterflies.
Beautiful creatures. I remember there was a time where the Mexican authorities would NOT reveal the exact location of their sanctuary for fear of people/tourists destroying the ecology.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | March 26, 2025 1:53 AM |
It was on ‘The Amazing Race’ last season.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | March 26, 2025 1:57 AM |
I can't bear the champ and want to see him gone.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | March 26, 2025 1:28 PM |
Not much excitement onstage for a long time.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | March 26, 2025 1:59 PM |
I guessed Final correctly. Not a fan of the woman, so pleased the champ continues.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | March 27, 2025 12:00 AM |
No idea about FJ. Was only half-way paying attention. The contestants were struggling.
The current winner got very lucky.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | March 27, 2025 12:42 AM |
I knew FJ but couldn't think of the character's name, could only come up with...Charles Laughton.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | March 27, 2025 12:46 AM |
I thought of Bligh right away. I believe it was worded differently in another clue sometime back, otherwise I have no idea how it came to me so easily.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | March 27, 2025 3:50 AM |
I thought of Bligh right away too, but thought he was a fictional character.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | March 27, 2025 4:52 AM |
If is there anyway to watch Jeopardy without Sling or cable?
by Anonymous | reply 46 | March 27, 2025 4:53 AM |
Do you have a tv with no cable attached?
Get an antenna, yes a rabbit ear antenna or whatever one you can find, tune in to the local channels and one of the big 4 networks has to have the show in syndication.
We actually have a flat square thing that tunes in the local broadcasts. We actually get about 15 or 20 channels. We live near the border so the antenna picks up many Mexican stations.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | March 27, 2025 5:52 AM |
I immediately thought of Captain Bligh, but thought he was only conected to the Bounty. Only other captain from that era I could think of was Captain James Cook, but the ship name sounded wrong.
I was rooting for Melanie. I'm tired of Josh and his firmly closed mouth when hen he's supposedly smiling. Looks like he's hiding something.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | March 27, 2025 7:14 AM |
Josh is irritating.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | March 27, 2025 10:18 AM |
I guessed Bligh only because Bounty-related topics pop up frequently on the show.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | March 27, 2025 1:46 PM |
Jeopardy Masters line up announced.
The tournament, airing in primetime on ABC, not in syndicate, starts on April 30.
This years Masters will have nine contestants, instead of the six that were in previous years. Contestants are:
Victoria Groce, last year's Masters champion
Yogesh Raut, 2024 Tournament of Champions winner,
Neilesh Vinjamuri, 2025 Tournament of Champions winner
Adriana Harmeyer, TOC finalist
Isaac Hirsch, TOC finalist
Matt Amodio, past champ and Jeopardy Invitational Tournament winner
Roger Craig, past champ and JIT finalist
Juveria Zaheer, JIT finalist
Brad Rutter, past champ,
This Masters is also notable for the contestants not playing -- James Holzhauer and Mattea Roach -- both of whom were in the two previous Masters tournaments.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | March 27, 2025 10:55 PM |
I'd have to see photos to recognize most of the names announced for that tournament. I can only picture Matt and Juveria though Yogesh and Neilesh sound familiar.
What's become of Cris Panullo? Why is he never invited back for these tournaments?
by Anonymous | reply 52 | March 27, 2025 11:43 PM |
Though Josh seems unpopular here, I don't mind him. Didn't get final, but knew some they didn't.
None of the above names interest me, except Brad Rutter.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | March 28, 2025 12:02 AM |
I weary of the tourneys. This current bald champ is really on a roll. He just qualified for the-sigh-tourney.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | March 28, 2025 12:31 AM |
[quote]What's become of Cris Panullo? Why is he never invited back for these tournaments?
Maybe he has been invited back, but declined. Or maybe he has scheduling conflicts.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | March 28, 2025 9:06 AM |
I eventually got the the Trevi Fountain for Final, but took me a while to get there.
Ken ruled incorrectly on the Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil clue. David did NOT say "into." I rewound my DVR multiple times. David clearly said "in."
by Anonymous | reply 56 | March 28, 2025 9:10 AM |
I wondered about that ruling, too, r56. I was sure Ken would come back with a correction, but it never happened.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | March 28, 2025 12:56 PM |
So. Over. Josh.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | March 28, 2025 2:33 PM |
So Josh keeps winning? Another damn Thursday of the ncaa tournament, Friday also 🙄
by Anonymous | reply 59 | March 28, 2025 3:43 PM |
[quote]I was sure Ken would come back with a correction, but it never happened.
I kept waiting for that as well.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | March 28, 2025 5:43 PM |
Josh gives off Republican vibes. Not MAGA, just the pre-MAGA kind.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | March 28, 2025 6:30 PM |
[QUOTE] Ken ruled incorrectly on the Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil clue. David did NOT say "into." I rewound my DVR multiple times. David clearly said "in."
That was really unfair to that contestant. David absolutely did not say “into” (I rewound a couple of times too in order to make sure).
by Anonymous | reply 62 | March 28, 2025 6:55 PM |
Oh god. We’ll see Josh again after he loses? He’s annoying.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | March 28, 2025 9:25 PM |
Tonight, the bearded guy clearly said Forester, yet Ken accepted that response.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | March 28, 2025 11:08 PM |
The show is really starting to suck. I hate the word puzzle (anagrams, etc) categories and all these tournaments. I think the writing quality is declining.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | March 28, 2025 11:13 PM |
Alex, come back!
by Anonymous | reply 66 | March 28, 2025 11:15 PM |
Giveaway final, knew it immediately ... unlike them.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | March 28, 2025 11:58 PM |
I’m watching on YouTube. Why do they distort the picture for the final?
by Anonymous | reply 68 | March 29, 2025 12:20 AM |
They all do that. My guess is it has something to do with the copyright.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | March 29, 2025 1:20 AM |
New champ! And a gorgeous one at that.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | March 31, 2025 11:30 PM |
Gorgeous? I wouldn't go that far. Cute ... maybe.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | March 31, 2025 11:58 PM |
Gorgeous? Cute??
Are you out of your minds?
Nevertheless, glad he won. I was sick of that champ 5 games ago.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | April 1, 2025 1:29 AM |
I was rooting for the lady. Was she a Brit? I sort of missed the intros.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | April 1, 2025 3:04 AM |
Allison looked very sad when Ken read Final. She played real well.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | April 1, 2025 3:52 AM |
Tonight's champ looks Amish-adjacent. Maybe Mennonite Brethren.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | April 1, 2025 3:56 AM |
Thank god! A new less annoying champ!
by Anonymous | reply 76 | April 1, 2025 4:06 AM |
Everyone seems to assume Ken makes the rulings by himself. If he is unsure, doesn’t he get the ruling from the judges? I always assumed that what the reason for the momentary pause when Mayim Bialik was hosting—that she was checking with the judges on every answer.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | April 1, 2025 4:30 AM |
I thought that, too. R75. Was turned off by the cross the woman, with the accent, seemed to be wearing; her origins not discussed during interview, just an awkward but on her fountain pen collection.
I guessed Final correctly, but wasn't very confident.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | April 1, 2025 7:00 AM |
Finally, we're rid of Josh.
I was rooting for Allison to win. She was good. I suspect she'll be invited back for Second Chances.
Didn't especially like Bryce, but he was a good player.
Had no idea on Final.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | April 1, 2025 7:12 AM |
[QUOTE] Allison looked very sad when Ken read Final. She played real well.
I loved her handwriting too.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | April 1, 2025 12:13 PM |
Josh will get quickly smacked down in tournaments. He never really had strong competition, even in his losing game yesterday.
Seemed odd/sad that Allison couldn't come up with anything at all for FJ. I guessed Morse Code, knowing it was probably wrong.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | April 1, 2025 12:38 PM |
Bryce would've done better, obvious his buzzer skills were a problem more than knowledge.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | April 1, 2025 2:11 PM |
Poor (cute) Conner!
by Anonymous | reply 83 | April 1, 2025 11:21 PM |
Well, FJ was sort of easy, I guess?
If you know the cities in Italy? I said Milan because it was the other large city in northern Italy.
Poor middle dude couldn’t get out of the hole.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | April 2, 2025 12:30 AM |
I said “Yosemite”. I never cared for “The Godfather” anyway.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | April 3, 2025 3:37 AM |
I guessed Yosemite. I never cared for The Godfather anyway. The Asian girl seemed sweet.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | April 3, 2025 3:39 AM |
Oopsie poopsie!
by Anonymous | reply 87 | April 3, 2025 3:44 AM |
Ridic easy FJ.
by Anonymous | reply 88 | April 3, 2025 7:33 AM |
That was a final Jeopardy question????? What has happened to my show??
by Anonymous | reply 89 | April 3, 2025 10:01 AM |
I thought it was kind of mean when Ken went after the Asian guy from Washington State for not getting the Nirvana clue.
by Anonymous | reply 90 | April 3, 2025 3:35 PM |
I liked Alfred, but he just couldn't manage it, sadly. Did champ say his school was in India?
by Anonymous | reply 91 | April 3, 2025 11:58 PM |
I was also rooting for Alfred (actually liked the lady, too) but I do like our current champ. It was a good game.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | April 4, 2025 12:08 AM |
Clearly none of them were up on their Broadway/film musicals knowledge which would have paid off in FJ, too.
by Anonymous | reply 93 | April 4, 2025 12:09 AM |
I thought about Hobbits but didn’t think that was right.
I like the lady in the middle.
by Anonymous | reply 94 | April 4, 2025 12:28 AM |
Boq is a major character (well....a supporting character) in the musical Wicked.
by Anonymous | reply 95 | April 4, 2025 12:43 AM |
FJ was insanely easy for anyone who is familiar with Wicked. I knew they were all going to choose Lilliputians as their answer and be wrong.
by Anonymous | reply 96 | April 4, 2025 5:59 PM |
Guy from West Hollywood is gorgeous!
by Anonymous | reply 97 | April 4, 2025 10:01 PM |
I guess Bryce's newly revealed Lord and Saviour wasn't gonna save him today.
Funny how everybody's eyes suddenly glazed over.
by Anonymous | reply 98 | April 4, 2025 11:50 PM |
Yeah, when they make a profession of faith, as another guy did a few months ago, it gets annoying.
by Anonymous | reply 99 | April 5, 2025 12:00 AM |
Bryce was quite upset that he didn’t win.
by Anonymous | reply 100 | April 5, 2025 12:00 AM |
Wasn't this the game that would have qualified Bryce for future tournaments, had he won?
by Anonymous | reply 101 | April 5, 2025 12:15 AM |
My mother, brother and I groaned in unison on that, R98. Gorgeous is in the eye of the beholder, I guess, R97. New champ who dates women pinged loudly to me. Guessed physics as a tossup with chemistry.
by Anonymous | reply 102 | April 5, 2025 12:29 AM |
So, was Bryce off his game tonight? Or did he just finally have some real competition?
by Anonymous | reply 103 | April 5, 2025 12:36 AM |
West Hollywood guy was gorgeous?
by Anonymous | reply 104 | April 5, 2025 1:10 AM |
I enjoyed the game, it was competitive and alas, they all are not.
by Anonymous | reply 105 | April 5, 2025 1:21 AM |
I guessed chemistry. It was either that or physics, but it wasn’t physics.
All three contestants were homely and fat.
by Anonymous | reply 106 | April 5, 2025 1:33 AM |
I think Ken practically jinxed Bryce by saying that he was headed for TOC.
by Anonymous | reply 107 | April 5, 2025 1:59 AM |
Bryce was probably off his game because he had to stand next to a homosexual.
He certainly was dejected at having lost. But we’re lucky we don’t have to endure him anymore.
by Anonymous | reply 108 | April 5, 2025 9:52 AM |
Actually, Bryce appeared to very graciously congratulate both of the other players on a good game as they went into FJ.
by Anonymous | reply 109 | April 5, 2025 11:56 AM |
I'm sure Bryce is a nice person, R109, as many fundies can be on the surface. I liked his joke about his military school alums not necessarily approving that day's flowered tie.
by Anonymous | reply 110 | April 5, 2025 12:51 PM |
"West Hollywood guy" Guy Branum is really funny. He's been a contestant on @fter Midnight a few times.
by Anonymous | reply 111 | April 5, 2025 7:26 PM |
[quote] Guy from West Hollywood is gorgeous!
That's a joke, right?
by Anonymous | reply 112 | April 5, 2025 8:13 PM |
Yes, but I think Guy is in on it.
by Anonymous | reply 113 | April 5, 2025 10:57 PM |
I’m crushing hard on broad shouldered nudist Mike!
by Anonymous | reply 114 | April 7, 2025 11:10 PM |
I questioned that ruling that Queen Anne is the same style as Victorian architecture.
by Anonymous | reply 115 | April 7, 2025 11:35 PM |
R115: agreed! How the hell is that the same thing?
I knew it was the Drums Along the Mohawk guy, but couldn't think of his name.
by Anonymous | reply 116 | April 7, 2025 11:59 PM |
Ugh, for the last time this year, preempted for the freaking basketball game. 🙄🙄🙄
by Anonymous | reply 117 | April 8, 2025 12:26 AM |
R114 When Mike is nude his belly hangs over so far you can't see his pee-pee.
by Anonymous | reply 118 | April 8, 2025 12:55 AM |
Has there ever been an instance where multiple viewers of the show wrote in questioning a ruling and it was changed?
by Anonymous | reply 119 | April 8, 2025 1:34 AM |
It wasn't the "Drums Along the Mohawk" guy ((Walter Edmonds). It was James Fenimore Cooper.
by Anonymous | reply 120 | April 8, 2025 12:01 PM |
The Last of the Mohicans Cooper
by Anonymous | reply 121 | April 8, 2025 1:32 PM |
Thanks for clearing up my author confusion. I was thinking of Cooper and the era and setting, but wrong book on that. Had not heard name Walter Edmonds until now.
by Anonymous | reply 122 | April 8, 2025 3:11 PM |
I instantly knew it was James Fenimore Cooper for FINAL.
Mike is tall and large. He said he was 6'7". Wonder how much he weights. I'd guess he's topping 300 pounds.
by Anonymous | reply 123 | April 8, 2025 5:31 PM |
And Edmonds was a 20th c. writer.
by Anonymous | reply 124 | April 8, 2025 10:42 PM |
Hooray for Hollywood!
by Anonymous | reply 125 | April 8, 2025 10:47 PM |
Poor cute Joe! Cumberland Road seemed a give-away to me.
by Anonymous | reply 126 | April 8, 2025 11:59 PM |
Has it already been commented that current champ is the spitting image of Rachel Dratch? Because he really, really is.
by Anonymous | reply 127 | April 9, 2025 5:31 PM |
I'm a few days behind and it appears he has lost already, but I finally figured out who Bryce reminds me of: Dwight's Cousin Mose on "The Office."
by Anonymous | reply 128 | April 9, 2025 5:57 PM |
I'm so glad the big ugly dude lost tonight. I couldn't stomach looking at his smug dumb fuck face one day more.
by Anonymous | reply 129 | April 10, 2025 1:45 AM |
Love the new champ! Hope he sticks around for a while.
I guessed Easter Island for FJ. I was so off. But better than the new champ's Mt. Rushmore. WTF, was he kidding because he knew he'd win no matter what?
by Anonymous | reply 130 | April 10, 2025 2:41 AM |
I found Dave hot, but guess it wasn't meant to be.
Guessed Final correctly, though seemed too obvious.
by Anonymous | reply 131 | April 11, 2025 12:09 AM |
FJ was easy! Really surprised hot Dave and the sweet girl missed it. I wonder if they've ever spent much time in London.
by Anonymous | reply 132 | April 11, 2025 12:57 AM |
Hot Dave needed a better wardrobe.
by Anonymous | reply 133 | April 11, 2025 12:58 AM |
I actually did think of the Victoria and Albert museum right away but it seemed the too obvious choice.
To tell the truth, that’s probably the only museum name from England that I know. 😛
by Anonymous | reply 134 | April 11, 2025 1:53 AM |
I thought of Victoria and Albert and probably would have given it as an answer, because the question implied a double name museum, even though I was sure it was wrong—Victoria and Albert were married, not cousins. I did not know they were first cousins, too!
by Anonymous | reply 135 | April 11, 2025 3:07 AM |
Victoria was related to virtually every royal noble throughout Europe.
by Anonymous | reply 136 | April 11, 2025 3:40 AM |
Good game tonight, three good players. I like it.
by Anonymous | reply 137 | April 11, 2025 11:58 PM |
Hate contestants who make the sign of the cross when they win. Jesus had nothing to do with it.
by Anonymous | reply 138 | April 12, 2025 12:21 AM |
He’s very Catholic. I thought it was charming that he wanted to use his winnings to go see a German Passion play. I mean, we get it, you’re Catholic! I haven’t seen anyone make such a fuss of the fact in ages. Though we have had our share of churchy champs as of late.
by Anonymous | reply 139 | April 12, 2025 3:17 AM |
Great game. I was rooting for Stephanie, but she’ll no doubt be back for Second Chances.
Final was incredibly easy.
by Anonymous | reply 140 | April 12, 2025 8:44 AM |
Arrietty may have been robbed but I'm absolutely fine with that.
by Anonymous | reply 141 | April 12, 2025 9:43 AM |
Oh. Oops. ;)
by Anonymous | reply 142 | April 12, 2025 9:43 AM |
I knew FJ was the twins portrayed by the late great Armie Hammer in that Jesse Eisenberg movie about Facebook, but I never could have come up with their crazy surname.
by Anonymous | reply 143 | April 12, 2025 2:12 PM |
Another reason to like Ken Jennings ... he's a Progressive. Wasn't expecting that knowing he's Mormon.
by Anonymous | reply 144 | April 14, 2025 1:10 AM |
Is Mormon Ken like Patriarch Smith, President Oaks, Bishop Angus, or Brother Calhoun?
by Anonymous | reply 145 | April 14, 2025 10:03 PM |
Who was giving the Mary Todd Lincoln clues?
by Anonymous | reply 146 | April 14, 2025 11:31 PM |
I want Kyle inside me - quite deeply.
by Anonymous | reply 147 | April 14, 2025 11:33 PM |
I could bear a Tournament of Champions with a heavy dose of Kyle!

I was rooting for hunky Kyle, a man in a baggy shirt whose magnificent physique, nonetheless, comes through. Plus, he seemed very sweet and smart.
And I also guessed Heller for FJ. Once I had that name, I couldn't seem to open up my brain to the more obvious and correct response.
by Anonymous | reply 149 | April 14, 2025 11:42 PM |
Can't imagine what the TV audience in Flyoverland must have made of Cole Escola.
by Anonymous | reply 150 | April 14, 2025 11:43 PM |
That probably means you’re romantically compatible, r149. I guessed Vonnegut right away:(
by Anonymous | reply 151 | April 14, 2025 11:46 PM |
Tituss Burgess according to my laptop, r146.

[quote]Who was giving the Mary Todd Lincoln clues?
Cole Escola, who created and stars in the now on-Broadway play “Oh, Mary”…
by Anonymous | reply 153 | April 15, 2025 12:00 AM |
I think a lot of flyovers are buying tickets to see Oh, Mary!
by Anonymous | reply 154 | April 15, 2025 12:15 AM |
Cole is incredible in Oh, Mary! and should (and will) the Tony this year. The original cast is back in the show now and I’m tempted to see it again.
Kyle was a hunk!
by Anonymous | reply 155 | April 15, 2025 1:35 AM |
R146 She was hilarious.
by Anonymous | reply 156 | April 15, 2025 2:39 AM |
I wonder if the Jeopardy producers were just hoping that the viewers who might have found Cole's portrayal of Mary Todd Lincoln distasteful just assumed she was some homely NY actress.
by Anonymous | reply 157 | April 15, 2025 2:42 AM |
All I could think of for Final was Hemingway during the Spanish Civil War? Cole and Kyle were both excellent!
by Anonymous | reply 158 | April 15, 2025 11:35 AM |
There was one clue where Cole (as Mary Todd) added “…right?” at the end that just had me howling. It instantly took me back to seeing their play last fall.
by Anonymous | reply 159 | April 15, 2025 12:26 PM |
R159 - I wish I had seen "Oh, Mary!" when it was downtown or when it first opened or with Cole. I saw the show with Titus Burgess and while I enjoyed myself a lot (the guy who played Booth was my favorite in the cast), Burgess did nothing for me.
Stunt casting at its most egregious.

Why was Kyle from San Antonio wearing all those clothes??
by Anonymous | reply 161 | April 15, 2025 3:39 PM |
I kept picturing what Kyle’s cock might look like.
by Anonymous | reply 162 | April 15, 2025 3:55 PM |
Wait, the person playing Mary Todd Lincoln was an actor, not an actress??
Holy shit, had no idea! She seemed kind of brusque and looked like she could kick your ass. 😳
I thought Hemingway as well. I knew he had been in some war but had no idea which one.

I had no idea of FJ. Don't even get how Andrew could have guessed it correctly as the clue confused me as to what they were looking for.
by Anonymous | reply 166 | April 16, 2025 1:44 AM |
I thought that Ken had cursed yet another contestant by mentioning he was close to qualifying for the tournament.
He got lucky again.

I was kinda close guessing the Book Depository in Dallas. Hate these steamroller nights!
by Anonymous | reply 168 | April 17, 2025 12:00 AM |
I guessed The Brill Building for FJ. Boy, was I off! I knew it didn't have any sort of political connections but couldn't think of another music building of note.
Andrew the champ is a very steady, well-rounded player. And he knows how important it is to search out those DDs.

Was thinking Paraguay for FJ for its landlocked central position in South America but thought, it couldn't be, surely 27 different languages aren't spoken there?! Thought it must be some obscure tiny country in Central America with Spanish, French, Dutch, German history.
So, I was very surprised to hear it was Bolivia.
GO LIAM! Hope he sticks around for a while.

Shocking that Liam couldn't put together Dog Day Afternoon and Al Pacino. He really is young.

I'm rooting for Liam to keep going.
by Anonymous | reply 207 | April 23, 2025 1:48 AM |
I would never have taken Liam for a big sports fan but he did well in that category.
by Anonymous | reply 208 | April 23, 2025 2:04 AM |
He's 25 years old.
by Anonymous | reply 209 | April 23, 2025 2:33 PM |
This says he’s 20 which fits with being born during Ken Jenning’s initial run in 2004.
by Anonymous | reply 210 | April 23, 2025 3:27 PM |
Austin Young is roughly that age, too, if I recall correctly. It's implied in his roles that he's roughly a decade younger.
by Anonymous | reply 211 | April 23, 2025 5:44 PM |
I thought Liam was younger than 25. Is he considered moderately autistic? He never smiles or laughs. Doesn't shake other players hands or even look at them after the game ends. Definitely interesting to observe.
by Anonymous | reply 212 | April 23, 2025 7:07 PM |
[quote] Is he considered moderately autistic? He never smiles or laughs. Doesn't shake other players hands or even look at them after the game ends. Definitely interesting to observe.
It's clear he is autistic, but we don't know what form of autism he has. You'd have to ask him to get his exact diagnosis.
There are so many different forms and degrees of autism these days. Dozens and dozens more than existed 25 or 30 years ago.
Liam is certainly not the first autistic person to become a Jeopardy champion. But does seem to have a more pronounced form of autism than previous winners. Or at least its much more evident due to the lack of smiling or laughter and total stiffness while standing at the podium.
by Anonymous | reply 213 | April 23, 2025 8:11 PM |
Maybe Liam is just.....shy??
by Anonymous | reply 214 | April 23, 2025 8:44 PM |
He CAN’T be autistic. They will never be on Jeopardy!
by Anonymous | reply 215 | April 23, 2025 8:50 PM |

Get your eyes examined. That's not shy. That's autistic.

Awwww Liam was so cute tonight.
by Anonymous | reply 217 | April 23, 2025 11:29 PM |
And Ken confirmed that Liam is 20 years old
Is it my imagination, or is Ken rooting for Liam?
by Anonymous | reply 218 | April 23, 2025 11:31 PM |
What a meta episode. Everyone misses “Who is Sheldon Cooper?” and the contender picks “Pour Decisions” after missing a true Daily Double.
by Anonymous | reply 219 | April 23, 2025 11:33 PM |
r218, no it's not your imagination. I see it as well.

That was a really tricky Final Jeopardy.
by Anonymous | reply 223 | April 24, 2025 12:43 AM |
Awww I’m totally rooting for Liam.
by Anonymous | reply 224 | April 24, 2025 12:51 AM |
I think posters claiming Liam is autistic are very unfamiliar with this youngest generation (whatever they're calling themselves). From my observations of today's teenagers and 20-somethings, I'd say that "awkwardness" of Liam's is as common amongst his peers as not. Especially in adult situations, like a nationally shot tv program format.
by Anonymous | reply 225 | April 24, 2025 1:48 AM |
Liam is an undergraduate, majoring in Data Science at the University of Chicago. That explains everything, both about his range and breadth of information and his ASD style of communication and presentation. I think he’s kind of adorkable. He’s probably the life of the party in Hyde Park at the school “where fun goes to die.”
by Anonymous | reply 226 | April 24, 2025 1:55 AM |
He's not just awkward; I'm diagnosing spectrum here.
by Anonymous | reply 227 | April 24, 2025 2:54 AM |
Absolutely. He has no reactions to Ken’s jokes because he can’t recognize humor.
by Anonymous | reply 228 | April 24, 2025 3:23 AM |
Middle contender lady looked like Lumpy from Leave It To Beaver.
by Anonymous | reply 229 | April 24, 2025 5:00 AM |
He’s totally adorable!
He looks so, so much like Jim it’s not even funny.
He looks elfin.
Great game tonight. I kinda hated the uber aggressive lady, though.
by Anonymous | reply 230 | April 24, 2025 5:03 AM |
She was in it to win it, that's for sure. She was crestfallen when she missed Final Jep.
by Anonymous | reply 231 | April 24, 2025 6:04 AM |
Liam’s shock at winning was his first genuine display of emotion we’ve seen.
I knew from the clue and date that Final had something to do with the League of Nations, but wasn’t sure exactly what. Imagine my surprise that the correct answer was League of Nations.
by Anonymous | reply 232 | April 24, 2025 7:17 AM |
Agreed, R231. She was jamming on that buzzer.
by Anonymous | reply 233 | April 24, 2025 7:59 AM |
She lost her mojo when she foolishly and needlessly bet it all on that early DJ and guessed wrong.
It's going to take quite the charming (or hot) contender to capture our DL hearts away from Liam.
by Anonymous | reply 234 | April 24, 2025 12:40 PM |
1-I'm glad Kyle lost. I have a problem with contestants who can't stand still and shift their weight from one leg to the other constantly. If anybody were viewing this ep on a CRT-type TV, I suspect he would be swaying off the screen much of the time.
2-Liam's ignorant FJ answer of the Golden Gate Bridge was quite stupid. The GGB dates from 1937, not 1919. Aside from his resemblance to Sheldon, does he ACT like him? That was one of the main themes of BBT: geniuses are difficult to be around.
by Anonymous | reply 235 | April 24, 2025 1:19 PM |
Well, I guessed the Brooklyn Bridge. The wording was sus, especially since everybody guessed a bridge of some sort. 🤷🏻♀️
by Anonymous | reply 236 | April 24, 2025 5:00 PM |
I’m embarrassed to say that I guessed “The Alamo.”
I did get ear bandage the other day though! And James Fenimore Cooper whenever that was.

by Anonymous | reply 240 | April 25, 2025 12:19 AM |
I really don't get how Liam or anyone could come up with Columbus when the only specific hint in the clue was Granada. Am I right? Was there something else that would lead you to Columbus? I thought the "event" inferred would be a war or battle, not an exploration.
Anyway, once again VERY impressed with Liam.
by Anonymous | reply 241 | April 25, 2025 1:32 AM |
I guessed King Ferdinand not realizing Italian Columbus had fought for Spain before being hired to explore. Grenada was 1492, R241, for the Columbus link.
by Anonymous | reply 242 | April 25, 2025 1:37 AM |
Thanks, r242. I don't think I'd ever heard of the Granada War. They must have skipped over it in my social studies classes.
by Anonymous | reply 243 | April 25, 2025 1:41 AM |
I finally got to Columbus for Final once I connected Granada to Spain.
Gonna be interesting seeing how Liam does in the ToC.

by Anonymous | reply 250 | April 26, 2025 12:48 AM |
I notice that Liam always looks down and pauses for a moment before answering the clue. Seems like he's pondering for a moment to double check his answer.
Matt Amodio used to do the same thing. But he would ponder a beat or two longer before giving his response.
by Anonymous | reply 251 | April 26, 2025 9:11 AM |
Liam got FJ seriously wrong two days in a row.
by Anonymous | reply 252 | April 26, 2025 11:03 AM |
Liam’s FJ guess yesterday was off by decades. Decades.
by Anonymous | reply 253 | April 26, 2025 11:19 AM |
I think Matt just buzzed in first and then had to think of what the answer was.
by Anonymous | reply 254 | April 26, 2025 1:24 PM |
Did Liam win last night? The episode wasn't seen in the NY area because of football drafts (or something like that). And I can't find it on youtube.

Back to school for Liam. I guess it was his time.
I guessed Michael Crichton for FJ just because he was famously tall. But figured that reacher clue meant something (duh). I had a feeling Liam wouldn't come up with the right response so bravo to the new champ, who seems very sweet, for guessing correctly.
