It must often be mental illness. The person is lucky if someone can rescue you.

How does it happen? Poor business decisions. Spending money like your series will last 16 seasons. No guidance, especially for younger celebs. I think most of them come from unstable homes or podunk towns, they come to Hollywood cause they're goodlooking, and in some cases have talent, and they take a chance at becoming rich & famous. Some go unscathed, taking the waiter route. Then there are those who sell drugs and themselves to get by. The psychological scars remain even if they hit fame, hence all the drug and alcohol addictions.

The information on Bobby Driscoll (R18) is really sad.

He was clearly talented, but despite trying and having the talent and experience to still act, seemed to have fallen by the wayside.

There were lots of trap doors on set (for the puppet), and cast/crew could trip and fall into them. Also apparently the puppeteer was argumentative, and it was an overall unpleasant environment.

Maybe that contributed to his breakdown.

Benji Gregory, who played the kid on ALF, was found dead in his car in Peoria, AZ on June 13, 2024. I'd say that is out-skidding costar Willie Tanner's substance problem.
