She will play Eva in the West End revival of Evita!!
I don't know her.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | March 14, 2025 1:42 PM |
Who is this giant foreheaded bitch, anyway?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | March 14, 2025 2:12 PM |
Why won’t she go away? No one likes her.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | March 14, 2025 2:15 PM |
I don't know her apart from her Oscars appearance, but she's a cute girl.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | March 14, 2025 2:22 PM |
R4 you watched West Side Story ….
by Anonymous | reply 5 | March 14, 2025 2:25 PM |
Why is Hollywood investing so much money in this unproven, frankly odd-looking, young irritant?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | March 14, 2025 2:26 PM |
To be fair it’s London investing this time
by Anonymous | reply 7 | March 14, 2025 2:42 PM |
She’s very Laura Herring in that photo.
Almost too pretty for Perón.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | March 14, 2025 2:43 PM |
Fine, England can keep her.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | March 14, 2025 2:45 PM |
She may not be the movie star they’re trying to make happen but she IS a theatre star. Romeo & Juliet was both a commercial and critical smash hit and this will do well too.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | March 14, 2025 2:50 PM |
They have her in whiteface to promote Snow White 😂
They really are using makeup to whiten her skin to promote the film. Probably to go against the backlash of her not being white enough to be Snow White
by Anonymous | reply 11 | March 14, 2025 2:59 PM |
It's weird that her flop WSS co-star, Ariana DeBose, was rumored to star in this production for months, and then Zegler is announced as the star. Did Zegler show some interest, so Lloyd dumped DeBose in favor of her? When comparing flops, Zegler is a less bigger flop than DeBose.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | March 14, 2025 3:48 PM |
I only hired her because she's your friend. I hardly know her.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | March 14, 2025 3:51 PM |
[quote] Why is Hollywood investing so much money in this unproven, frankly odd-looking, young irritant?
Because the banks demand DEI. Productions must have a certain amount of minorities for investment. It started 5 years ago.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | March 14, 2025 3:54 PM |
Ziegler has yet to appear in a hit movie. She was in a Hunger Games flick and a Shazam! flick, both of which ( to be fair, through no fault of her own) were unequivocal flops relative to their production and marketing budgets. West Side Story, another notorious flop.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | March 14, 2025 3:55 PM |
She’s a gen z young woman, so she defines herself by what she scolds about on social media. It can be annoying, although I actually agree with the substance of most of her positions.
Attacking her for that is like pulverizing a specific chicken for having feathers. Look at this BITCH and her fucking feathers! Bro they all got that.
Her big faux pas in my opinion was attacking the original film. It’s a very gen z thing to do, but someone really should have sat her down and read her the riot act before she spoke to the public.
All that said, she’s tiny and gorgeous and most importantly, extremely talented. I give her a pass!
by Anonymous | reply 16 | March 14, 2025 3:58 PM |
Hunger Games didn’t flop
by Anonymous | reply 17 | March 14, 2025 4:01 PM |
Will Eva sing Rainbow High wandering the streets captured on camera. And, will she be covered in blood at the end?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | March 14, 2025 4:01 PM |
R12 which one won an Oscar?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | March 14, 2025 4:02 PM |
She looks like she's 12. Will anyone buy her in this?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | March 14, 2025 4:02 PM |
R17 The film made $19.1 million on its first day, $5.75 million from Thursday night previews. It went on to debut to $44 million, topping the box office but marking the lowest start of the franchise.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | March 14, 2025 4:04 PM |
This will be unsurprisingly bad for her. A rainbow low.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | March 14, 2025 4:18 PM |
Can she even sing that score?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | March 14, 2025 4:21 PM |
Is being from New Jersey DEI? Otherwise, fuck offf.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | March 14, 2025 4:23 PM |
Which is kind of interesting R22, as the biggest film and TV successes of the past five years have been: lily white Oppenheimer, lily white (with a few tokens) Barbie, lily and extremely rich white The White Lotus.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | March 14, 2025 4:25 PM |
She looks like Michael Jackson.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | March 14, 2025 4:26 PM |
Did a gay on this thread actually compare Rachel Zegler to prime Laura Elena Harring?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | March 14, 2025 4:29 PM |
No —her cousin Laura Herring
by Anonymous | reply 30 | March 14, 2025 4:33 PM |
The original, yes (and found it borrrriiing despite my sister being obsessed with it in high school and kept making me watch it), R5.
The remake, nah. I'm allergic to Steven Spielberg. Plus, if i hated the original, why would I watch a remake?
by Anonymous | reply 31 | March 14, 2025 4:52 PM |
To see it made worse, of course!
by Anonymous | reply 32 | March 14, 2025 4:55 PM |
She’s too pretty to portray Evita.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | March 14, 2025 4:55 PM |
That’s MY role!
by Anonymous | reply 34 | March 14, 2025 6:53 PM |
R27 The White Lotus doesn’t bring in bigger numbers than Euphoria did bud.
Those films you mentioned were blockbusters with 9 figure budgets….
by Anonymous | reply 35 | March 14, 2025 6:56 PM |
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 36 | March 14, 2025 6:58 PM |
Will she demand script changes so that it's Eva not Juan who is elected president, because you know, patriarchy?
by Anonymous | reply 37 | March 14, 2025 6:59 PM |
R33 - Patti LuPone
by Anonymous | reply 38 | March 14, 2025 7:28 PM |
Let's just all sit back and wait until she puts her foot in her mouth. Again. She's a publicists worse nightmare.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | March 14, 2025 7:29 PM |
Ok, another Jamie Lloyd re-thinking of of a good show, on the order of his A Dolls Life and Sunset Boulevard. Good opportunity to hear that good score. The property can take it. Rachel Zegler will get good reviews. The production will too. In time there will e a Broadway transfer.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | March 14, 2025 7:45 PM |
Are we still pretending that Eva wasn’t an evil corrupt asshole?
by Anonymous | reply 41 | March 14, 2025 7:51 PM |
Isn’t she a very light soprano? It takes lungs of steel to belt out that score.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | March 14, 2025 8:12 PM |
R42 you mean like Madonna?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | March 14, 2025 8:16 PM |
R23 Enjoying your stock market and egg prices, MAGA troll?
by Anonymous | reply 44 | March 14, 2025 10:12 PM |
I like the score to Evita (having grown up listening to it) so I invite another interpretation. The last one with Ricky Martin and that short lady was pretty bland.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | March 14, 2025 11:55 PM |
What a must miss!
by Anonymous | reply 46 | March 14, 2025 11:57 PM |
She is very ugly. And unpleasant. Snow White is about to bomb big time. What are they thinking?
by Anonymous | reply 47 | March 15, 2025 12:39 AM |
She isn’t ugly. She was radiant in west side story. She’s been crucified for saying the things every single 18-22 year old theater student from her generation would have said. You old anti trans theater queens have to accept that the upcoming generation of theater people is fervently pro DEI and pro trans and Woke as fuck.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | March 15, 2025 12:47 AM |
She is very ugly. And anyone over 30 finds 18 year-olds and they're asinine social media ranting annoying. Are you Mark, hon? I know she's tweeted you after you worked with her on that FLOP, but stop it.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | March 15, 2025 12:49 AM |
R48 = Tony Kushner's husband. It's clear as day.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | March 15, 2025 12:50 AM |
Radiant. LOL. Did the 7 people who saw that piece of shit agree on that?
by Anonymous | reply 51 | March 15, 2025 12:51 AM |
She looks 12.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | March 15, 2025 7:16 AM |
Let me guess. Jaimie Lloyd directing, so no set, just a black stage. No Christian Dior gowns, but some slips they pick up at Primark. And bare feet everywhere. Not a shoe in sight.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | March 15, 2025 7:26 AM |
No journalists allowed on the red carpet for the Snow White premiere.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | March 15, 2025 11:49 PM |
She wasn’t great in Romeo & Juliet (what an embarrassing production overall though- the nurse gave one of the worst performances of the season), but that thing was a smash hit. Tickets weren’t cheap and that show sold out almost every night.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | March 15, 2025 11:59 PM |
lol - If people were critical of Madonna not having the voice for Evita in a movie, why do people think that Zeigler has the voice for Evita on stage, show after show, day after day.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | March 16, 2025 8:15 PM |
She looks like AOC
by Anonymous | reply 60 | March 16, 2025 8:17 PM |
Rachel can sing….
by Anonymous | reply 61 | March 16, 2025 8:20 PM |
She is truly ugly. With that chin, Disney should’ve cast her as the witch in Snow White.
Also, she has demonstrated time and time again that she is a stupid cunt.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | March 16, 2025 8:26 PM |
And just because it will make all the old bitches heads explode I’m going to mention that she looks like a young Jackie Kennedy
by Anonymous | reply 63 | March 16, 2025 10:15 PM |
Elena Roger, the last to play Eva Peron on Broadway, disappeared after doing the role. Maybe that'll happen to Zegler too.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | March 16, 2025 10:36 PM |
Has she mentioned what song in the musical offends her and she wont be singing?
by Anonymous | reply 65 | March 16, 2025 10:50 PM |
R57 I think the success was because of Kit Connor. The weekly grosses didn’t dip any of the times she was out of the show and he was the only one reviewed well. Evita will still sell fine, though.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | March 16, 2025 10:54 PM |
r65
when did she say this?
by Anonymous | reply 67 | March 17, 2025 12:11 AM |
Have you ever heard her speak or read her post? The girl lives to be offended and scold.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | March 22, 2025 3:32 AM |
How does someone with this rare opportunity, given her squat stature and mid looks, squander it with aggressively woke proselytizing?
by Anonymous | reply 69 | March 22, 2025 4:00 AM |
You don't understand what kind of person she was. Marjorie Taylor Greene could play her easily.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | March 22, 2025 4:51 AM |
Or Mona Charen
by Anonymous | reply 71 | March 22, 2025 4:52 AM |
But Ann Coulter couldn't. She could play the Parisian whore who married the dictator of Paraguay, however.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | March 22, 2025 4:53 AM |
Wow, they’re just not gonna give up with this obnoxious shrew are they?
by Anonymous | reply 74 | May 27, 2025 8:28 PM |
She’s got the whore part down pat.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | May 27, 2025 9:09 PM |
Whoever upthread states Arianna DeBose "flopped" , I'm curious to know what you're basing that on?
by Anonymous | reply 76 | May 27, 2025 9:20 PM |
There are stories all over the interwebs that she's been canned from Evita after some leaked footage.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | May 27, 2025 10:40 PM |
War of the Gargantuas was the best movie.
A friend of mine and I used to watch all the old Godzilla and such movies. Loved Johnny Sokko and his Giant Robot. The tiny twins singing Mothra used to creep me out.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | May 27, 2025 11:17 PM |
R77 If she was canned she wouldn’t have been on The One Show promoting the show a handful of hours ago.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | May 28, 2025 12:04 AM |
Can someone explain to me the vogue for sheer dresses with middle-aged bras and undies clearly visible beneath? (See R73's link.) It's everywhere and it's just awful.
Aside from the sheerness detracting from the line of the dress, didn't we learn 40 years ago that lingerie cut high on the thigh made women's legs look longer and a plunging bra made the neck look longer? Have we forgotten that, or is it somehow important to look 45 and frumpy? They all look like Margaret Qualley in The Substance went out wearing Demi's underwear.
