I wondered what happened to her.
She didn't turn up at any of the Oscar events, which seemed strange.

I know, R1 everyone was talking about it and the press and media noted her conspicuous absence Sunday night!

I hope it's okay that I'm reviving this thread; I have just finished listening to this book and I enjoyed it. I didn't particularly like Ione, but I loved reading about her varied life experiences. Two points really struck me by the time I finished reading this book.
1. The grief of having met and fallen in love with a great guy when she was too young and too inexperienced. Ione and Beastie Boys Adam Horovitz wed when he was 26 and she was 21. The marriage died because he was travelling for work a lot and she cheated on him with multiple women. She is now married to Aussie Ben Lee, with whom she seems to share a cosy Aussie life and one daughter. But it's clear she is still profoundly sad about the relationship with Adam. And... let's be honest. Adam is really cute, allegedly worth about $100 million, truly adored her. And now she's got a husband who used to be into cults, is not nearly as attractive or as rich as Adam, and their love sounds crunchy and comfy but not the intensity she felt with Adam.
2. David Netto. He needs his own DL thread. He's a well-known interior designer, one of many Johnson & Johnson heirs. Ione had been raised by a single mom who had been deserted by her boyfriend (1960s singer, Donovan) when pregnant. Ione very much wanted a baby but only in the context of a committed relationship. So, what did she do? Got pregnant with Netto pretty much as soon as she met him. She never states that he is gay, but to me he definitely seems like family (who of you whores has had him!?!). They didn't marry, but he later wed a woman called Elizabeth and they had his second kid together. From what I understand, they later divorced and he is now a "single man about town" (*cough, cough*)
