Sad, weird week. Delayed-announcement deaths. Hackman and Houghton are revealed to be dead, but it turns out both have been dead for some time. According to the article, "Houghton died Aug. 27 at his home in Encino of peritoneal mesothelioma, his wife, Karen Houghton, told The Hollywood Reporter. She did not want to discuss his death until now." August 27! Like Beth Howland, as someone in the Knots Landing thread noted.

Who else out there in Hollywood has been dead for months? What do you bitches know? Has someone checked on Susan Dey?

His sister was an Oscar nominee for GHCTD.

A good friend recently died of the same type of cancer. A horrible thing to see happening.

After rewatching Knots Landing just recently this teally bums me out. Kenny and Ginger were a lot of fun. I had forgotten how involved Kenny was in the CiJi (Lisa Hartman) plot line. ……. My favorite was when Lilimae - Julie Harris kept trying to charm Kenny into getting her (and her autoharp) a recording contract.

Katharine Houghton is not his sister R5 and she was not nominated for an Oscar.

Susan Dey may issue a statement later. She is overwhelmed at the moment with the recent deaths of Gene Hackman. Michelle Trachtenberg and Tim Kruger.

I don’t remember the name of James’ sister, but she was a writer and they wrote together back in the day, I believe.

R14 Yes, and while the Jill character still exists, she only appears once in a blue moon. The current Jill, Jess Walton, is basically retired up in Oregon. Often when she does appear, it's via zoom and her image is up on screen participating in a business meeting. .. Sometime during the last year, it was said that Jill had a health condition, and she was receiving treatment that was being supervised by her brother, Snapper, over in London. He was not seen, but again Jill did some some appearance(s) where she was said to be zooming from that location.
