That'll bring down the price of eggs!
by Anonymous | reply 1 | February 28, 2025 11:57 PM |
Good.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | February 28, 2025 11:58 PM |
It’s a white supremacy thing. You wouldn’t understand
by Anonymous | reply 3 | February 28, 2025 11:59 PM |
We do understand R3. And we understand what's behind it and the message it is designed to send.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | March 1, 2025 12:02 AM |
I guess they're gonna need to swap out those Spanish street signs in Florida . . .
by Anonymous | reply 5 | March 1, 2025 12:03 AM |
Why is there even a necessity for an official language? We’ve been fine without one for 250 years
by Anonymous | reply 6 | March 1, 2025 12:27 AM |
Risky for him - he can barely string a coherent sentence together in English.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | March 1, 2025 12:29 AM |
Not Russian? So much for my Cyrillic lessons.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | March 1, 2025 12:29 AM |
It doesn't speak good English
by Anonymous | reply 9 | March 1, 2025 12:30 AM |
The official language will be remedial English.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | March 1, 2025 12:32 AM |
If the declaration were for making correct English our official language, then I'd be for it.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | March 1, 2025 12:39 AM |
good
by Anonymous | reply 12 | March 1, 2025 12:44 AM |
Has Hilaria Baldwin commented?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | March 1, 2025 1:01 AM |
Language bonds. That’s why countries have them. The US should have done this a long time ago.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | March 1, 2025 1:04 AM |
Heinous
by Anonymous | reply 15 | March 1, 2025 1:06 AM |
MAGA is unable to pass an English exam.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | March 1, 2025 1:12 AM |
R16 The Dem's most loyal voting block would do even worse...
by Anonymous | reply 17 | March 1, 2025 1:14 AM |
Puerto Rico gets paper towels.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | March 1, 2025 1:15 AM |
English is the official language in 30 states. I'd be OK with English and Spanish being officially recognized. We live in a largely bilingual hemisphere. It is not White supremacy because tens of millions of Americans of all races speak only English.
I'm done with the fetish we have with immigrants. We're supposed to act like they are doing us a favor and we must bend over backwards to placate them. Immigrants in NYS state know the law, thanks to Cuomo, and they fucking demand interpreters in their own fucking language and dialect, no matter how obscure and even when they speak English reasonably. It cost tens of millions of dollars. Hey, your not speaking English is not my fucking problem.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | March 1, 2025 1:18 AM |
Please ignore Trump's distractions and focus on the serious stuff.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | March 1, 2025 1:18 AM |
^^^reasonably well.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | March 1, 2025 1:19 AM |
[quote]That'll bring down the price of eggs!
R1. We have to stop bitching about the price of eggs and bitch about groceries in general along with everything else. Regarding the price of eggs, the bird flu will eventually end in a matter of time. There will eventually be more chickens laying eggs, and by the simple law of supply and demand, the price of eggs will come down. And then Trump will claim credit for lowering the price of eggs when he in fact had nothing to do with it.
The criticism of Trump needs to be about the price of all groceries, housing costs, insurance costs, inflations in general. These are all the things Trump said he would focus on or solve on Day One. He hasn't done any of it. Don't give Trump an "out" if the price of eggs drop, which they will when the bird flu subsides.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | March 1, 2025 1:22 AM |
Deese. Dems and does. Serious offenses
by Anonymous | reply 23 | March 1, 2025 1:45 AM |
R10 he’s always disgusting looking but that picture is especially heinous. Looks like an orange lizard.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | March 1, 2025 1:50 AM |
¡Chinga Donald Trump y todos sus aduladores MAGA!
by Anonymous | reply 25 | March 1, 2025 1:50 AM |
What happens to Hawaiians & their language?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | March 1, 2025 2:00 AM |
Language restrictionism doesn't work. Just ask General Franco.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | March 1, 2025 2:08 AM |
I've avoided looking at him for a couple of months now, but the picture at R10 makes me ponder something once again - considering his massive vanity, does he avoid all mirrors or does he look in the mirror and see something that nobody else does?
by Anonymous | reply 28 | March 1, 2025 5:36 AM |
Well lookie here, Canada has two official languages.
We'll get abolish this racism and outrageousness after we invade them!
by Anonymous | reply 29 | March 1, 2025 12:58 PM |
Does this mean Melania is going to have to learn English to stay in this country ?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | March 1, 2025 1:01 PM |
The whole country ignoranter and ignoranter by the day
by Anonymous | reply 31 | March 1, 2025 1:52 PM |
If I were president, I'd make Spanish mandatory from kindergarten through HS and I'd offer Zelensky a Monica Lewinsky...an Oval Office blowjob.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | March 2, 2025 3:13 PM |
I'm just waiting for them to ban the sign language for "being DEI."
by Anonymous | reply 33 | March 2, 2025 3:16 PM |
[quote] I'd be OK with English and Spanish being officially recognized.
Absolutely not. Spanish is not the official language.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | March 2, 2025 3:44 PM |
Immigrants need to assimilate. That’s where English comes in. It’s the easiest way to do it.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | March 2, 2025 3:45 PM |
Sometime in the 90s, I remember a commentator saying that there was a subsection of Americans who were bitter about pressing 1 for English, who were never going to get over it. He was right.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | March 2, 2025 3:48 PM |
Sundowning... Wants to 'pardon' Pete Rose- but for what? And Turd has no power over the Hall Of Fame.
Maybe he meant 'Rose Garden'?
by Anonymous | reply 37 | March 2, 2025 4:25 PM |
Meaningless, performative horseshit, but it'll make his base feel better about losing their Medicaid.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | March 2, 2025 4:29 PM |
Immigrants DO assimilate. Within a generation, everyone knows English.
And why does “assimilate” in your definition mean knowing English perfectly? Must everyone act like a WASP to be considered American?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | March 2, 2025 4:31 PM |
[Quote] Absolutely not. Spanish is not the official language
Nor is English
by Anonymous | reply 40 | March 2, 2025 4:32 PM |
Puerto Ricans can barely speak Spanish. That’s an inside joke amongst Latinos.
So don't worry about them OP.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | March 2, 2025 4:37 PM |
R3 What is the 400-year native Black American language if English is just white supremacy?
by Anonymous | reply 42 | March 2, 2025 4:40 PM |
When it is signed, I'll learn how to say in Mandarin and Cantonese: Your not speaking English is not my problemo.
I fucking hate entitled immigrants.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | March 2, 2025 5:08 PM |
R43 ok Pocahontas
by Anonymous | reply 44 | March 2, 2025 6:09 PM |
So ... what will be the effect of this? Federal forms will only be printed in English? Anything else?
by Anonymous | reply 45 | March 2, 2025 6:54 PM |
Immigrants will get the message that we're not kissing their ass.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | March 2, 2025 7:03 PM |
You are such a kind and gentle person, r48.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | March 2, 2025 7:05 PM |
^^^and you're a bit dumb.
- The Real R48
by Anonymous | reply 48 | March 2, 2025 7:13 PM |
Not that they would ever leave the USA, but I’m sure that if they did, R43 and R46 would expect everyone to speak to them in English.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | March 2, 2025 7:20 PM |
[quote] I'd be OK with English and Spanish being officially recognized.
Only around 13% of Americans speak mainly Spanish.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | March 2, 2025 7:23 PM |
Four words that have triggered MAGA for years: "Para Espanol, oprima dos."
by Anonymous | reply 51 | March 2, 2025 7:24 PM |
Countries should have an official language policy.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | March 2, 2025 7:30 PM |
I took Spanish classes before I vacationed in Mexico so I could speak the language as a tourist. It's respectful. I did the same with Italy and France. I learned enough to get by. And it was appreciated by some of the locals I met. I see nothing wrong with people that want to become Americans having to speak English.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | March 2, 2025 7:32 PM |
R53 Bless your heart.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | March 2, 2025 7:37 PM |
You know, Dump’s exchange with Macron made me wonder—who is the last US president who could speak multiple languages. Most European leaders are multilingual. Jimmy Carter was bilingual, having been fluent in Spanish right?
by Anonymous | reply 55 | March 2, 2025 8:03 PM |
Isn't a declaration of official language of a country not something the president can make with a presidential order? Doesn't it take Congress to make it a law?
by Anonymous | reply 56 | March 2, 2025 8:19 PM |
What are they going to do about whatever that language is Melania Trump speaks?
Anybody seen her since Inauguration Day?
by Anonymous | reply 57 | March 2, 2025 11:14 PM |
This means bilingual official translations can be avoided from now on. Which is stupid
by Anonymous | reply 58 | March 2, 2025 11:16 PM |
R50, I didn't know that. I live in NYC. My experience is quiet skewed.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | March 2, 2025 11:16 PM |
[quote] What are they going to do about whatever that language is Melania Trump speaks?
She speaks a universal language: the language of love. Paid one, of course.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | March 2, 2025 11:21 PM |
R53 This is a response to the Democrats who are anti-American and anti-patriotic.
That’s the biggest issue with the Democratic Party. Latinx, “illegals boost the economy”, Pro-Palestine, Pro-Ukraine, burn the American flag, move to Canada, leave the USA Democrats who are outraged that English is going to be recognized as the official language. Someone here called it white supremacy.
Which is ironic cause Spanish is a colonized language in Central and South America.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | March 3, 2025 1:20 AM |
“Pro-Ukraine”? Boris, tell your bots to try harder.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | March 3, 2025 1:26 AM |
Oh stewardess, I speak White Trash.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | March 3, 2025 1:29 AM |
[Quote] What is the 400-year native Black American language if English is just white supremacy?
Trump is doing everything that pushes white supremacy. Making English the official language is just the next step
by Anonymous | reply 64 | March 3, 2025 1:29 AM |
It’s an Executive Order, which only means the Executive Branch will only publish guidances and announcements in English. It used to publish in many languages because Americans speak many languages. Even an immigrant who knows English will understand government reports better in their native language.
I’m sure MAGA will threaten private businesses from following the order also
by Anonymous | reply 65 | March 3, 2025 1:32 AM |
The Project 2025 is basically a fever dream wish list of the racist Christo-fascists. They basically want WASPs and Christian zealots in charge of the government and their plan is to replace the US constitution with new exclusionary laws. And the Federalist Society supremes will decide it is all the new law.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | March 3, 2025 1:35 AM |
R64, that's a ridiculous comment. About 240 million Americans speak only English, that includes tens of millions of people of color.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | March 3, 2025 2:12 AM |
As long as it would be a federal crime when people pronounce often with a t.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | March 3, 2025 2:15 AM |
Being that Columbus discovered America the official language should be Italian. The Florentine dialect.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | March 3, 2025 2:16 AM |
Oh I think Columbus was from Genoa. Therefore it should be the genovese dialect..
by Anonymous | reply 70 | March 3, 2025 2:18 AM |
Columbus never set foot on mainland North America.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | March 3, 2025 2:27 AM |
[Quote] that's a ridiculous comment. About 240 million Americans speak only English, that includes tens of millions of people of color.
That leaves over 100 million who don’t speak English as a first language. Trump is doing this specifically to spite brown people.
Trump’s white supremacy agenda marches forward
by Anonymous | reply 72 | March 3, 2025 2:37 AM |
Apparently having official communications in different language is WOKE! DEI ! CRT!
by Anonymous | reply 73 | March 3, 2025 2:40 AM |
America doesn’t need an official language, We’ve been doing fine without out.
Trump did this because he hates immigrants and so do his MAGA shit
by Anonymous | reply 74 | March 3, 2025 2:41 AM |
Wasn’t it already?
by Anonymous | reply 75 | March 3, 2025 3:24 AM |
He can barely speak English.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | March 3, 2025 3:47 AM |
Having an official language will solve zero problems. But the maga dumbasses purify this post will take it as a win. Hint. During the 60's all the way up until the early 2000's. When the average person could afford rent, a mortgage, a car and health insurance. We had no official language.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | March 3, 2025 4:04 AM |
Paper towels for Puerto Rico!
by Anonymous | reply 78 | March 3, 2025 4:08 AM |
R76, may I introduce R7?
by Anonymous | reply 79 | March 3, 2025 4:48 AM |
Wrong again, R72, according to the US Census, only 8% of the people in the US cannot speak English "very well". That's about only 27 million. You didn't take into account those who are bilingual.
