Has anyone watched the Netflix documentary series “Vatican Girl” about the disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi?

It has more twist and turns than the JFK assassination. She was 15 and has never been found. It happened in 1983. Her kidnapping has been linked to the Vatican and other foreign governments. She’s arguably Italy’s most famous missing person.

Documents leaked in 2013 from the Vatican that they sent her out of the country to England and then had her body shipped back and buried years later. Pope Francis told the family that she was in heaven and nothing more. They’re all in on it.

Sounds fun!

Why was she sent to England?

Poor kid. :-(

R2, speculation that she was knocked up by a priest at the Vatican and they shipped her to get her an abortion. She said that she was being bothered by someone. Her family worked at the Vatican and she was kidnapped right outside of it.

It was an interesting documentary. I learned a lot about Vatican City which I didn't know is a truly functioning city. There's no big payoff though to the big mystery, just a lot of conjecture. If you want a great doc, watch The Keepers.

R7, that documentary is total bullshit. That’s a case of false memories. The woman is mentally ill. She had one of those satanic panic shrinks. It was the same as Sybil.

I don't know her

Her family was kind of sketch too. I don’t think it was involved as the documentary makes out. Papa Francesco told the family she is with god - so it’s time to move on.

R10, you mean Pope Francis. Move on? Fuck you.

R8 The documentary didn't involve one woman, it involved many. I don't know which one you're referring to as Sybil. Maybe you're thinking of different doc than The Keepers.
