I met Madonna in the nineties. She didn’t strike me as beautiful …... She was extremely tiny and very short. She was also wearing her hair very short and had a masculine energy to her. Her looks are underrated because it takes a team of people to make her look that way, but she is beautiful when an effort is made.

She was beautiful in the 80s and 90s, but in terms of her styling changes, she sort of stopped the drastic changes that were her signature in the late 90s. She has had a few brief periods since in which she has changed her hair, but for the most part it has largely been the same, long style since Ray Of Light. It's so tired. And for the last ten years we have gotten this messy, long hair, often parted down the middle with the curiously dark (rather than gray) roots showing. I wish she would try something else. The face is another story.

I loved Madonna's bombshell look of the Erotica/Sex era. But I've heard several Gen Zers describe that hairstyle as old-fashioned. I guess the long straight hair parted in the middle style is considered more contemporary.

I wish that she would preserved the way she looked in early 1991 (like at the Oscars with Michael Jackson look) in a music video for Rescue Me. The way she looked in early 1991 sadly was never properly preserved on film.

She was attractive, it’s just that she (marvelously) always reinvented her looks (in addition to her sound, persona and image) over and over. So it’s hard in retrospect to pin down which physical look at which period represented her best one overall.
