Am reading Boy George’s memoir KARMA
He seems to be a decent person who tries to be nice to everyone who approaches him for an autograph. He is very funny and witty. I am suddenly really interested him after starting the book a few days ago. Yes, there was the imprisonment of a prostitute episode but it seems that it was much less dramatic than originally described. Anyway, he has since quit drugs and put a lot of effort in personal development.
What do you guys think of him?
I loathe his facial tatoos thought.

I’m glad I was a teen during his reign; such a fun, colorful time in music. To think we had to endure the entire decade Republican. The counter culture was sanity, for me, at least.

And to think, r2, looking back on the neon and day glo cross dressers of the early to mid 80's, the counter culture was so incredibly tame and innocent back then. I was a Goth kid myself.

He was DJ at a party that I went to about ten years ago - very small party, no more than 50 or 60 people. He couldn’t have been nicer, posing for selfies, chatting to whoever during breaks. Couldn’t have been more down to earth, which was not what I was expecting. Oh, and he’s BIG - pretty chunky at the time but also quite tall.
Good DJ too.

If it weren't for me, he'd be working county fairs today.

I really enjoyed his song with Ariana DeBose, "Electric Energy," from that awful movie Argylle. The song should've been a hit. Maybe if the movie had done better, it would've been.
But the sound of his voice has changed. Is it studio over-production, or has he tried to lower his register? It's not the voice he had in the 1980s.

I've always liked him - warts and all. And - this is an unpopular opinion - I always thought he was very attractive - FACIALLY. Not sure I'd want to see what's under that kaftan, but he's got an interesting and pretty face. Particularly the eyes.

He does have his "warts and all", though I think he is very talented and has a great voice and has a few songs that are superb.
He seems to have changed his stripes a bit and set aside the hyper cunty act.

Saw him at a party after the British Fashion Awards at The Limelight with a British fashion designer who was literally throwing himself at uninterested passers-by.
No wonder, as they spent all night bitching in the corner.

I always feel a bit sad when I’m reminded of him. The best friend I ever had was hit by a thunderbolt when Boy George appeared on the scene and was obsessed with him all the rest of his life, although he had mellowed a lot toward the end.
But now my friend’s dead and we can’t talk about George at all. I have to go the rest of my life feeling like a big chunk of meaning and friendship and closeness is gone. I saw George once. Gorgeous eyes.

I saw the Color By Numbers concert in 1984. Fun band and George was surprisingly energetic on stage, bounding back and forth barefooted.

There’s probably too much I’d rather not know about him.

From r1's Guardian article:
[Quote] In an apparently accidental allusion to Culture Club's 1982 No 1 hit Heather Norton, for the prosecution, asked the jury during the trial: "Did he really have to hurt him?"
🤣

I’ve read both his books and he is very witty. I really enjoyed them. The best thing is that the people mentioned were all furious, which makes me think that his gossip is probably true.

Oh he is fun and bitchy. Take it like a a man is a great read if you are up on all the pop groups from that era.
