Everything We Ever Wanted to Know About Crypto Currency...
OK. It's been a while, and with all the talk about leaving the country or huge layoffs, inflation, and all kinds of funding cuts, I am trying to figure out how to play this market, get in and out and make some money.
But I have no idea which buys are good deals, which ones are scams and which ones are affordable ? It seems very volatile in that world, and yet new ones seem to pop up every week... So I thought we could discuss and share what we know......

I just wrote in the other crypto thread, I don't understand it and so don't hold any. I do have a fear of missing out, but then I read the horror stories (and Trump's crypto stuff doesn't help). so we will see.

I'm working in a shithole area of Louisiana at the moment and looked up a Walgreens on Google maps. What popped up on the way to Walgreens was a bitcoin ATM. Can someone explain how that works? Do you deposit cash dollars and they give you a bitcoin or block chain number? I wasn't curious enough to drive to the ATM and check it out.

I read some description of crypto along the lines of "you use up the earth's resources to build massive computer systems that solve sudoku puzzles in exchange for heroin."

R3, you can use your credit or debit card to buy Bitcoin. The ATM owner can charge whatever fee that they want. So if you wake up in the middle of the night overwhelmed by the urge to be ripped off you can drive to a Bitcoin ATM and scratch that itch.

Why would anyone fall for that R5? That's a rhetorical question.

I think they're preying on people's ignorance. (I think the same websites that peddle conspiracy theories, and quick "cures" for cancer, and all kinds of other nonsense, and tell people when JFK is going to come back are the people promoting Crypto scams. I am going to avoid all of them. The top ones, most well known are way too expensive, and the other ones are sketchy to me. Warren Buffet said Crypto is all smoke and mirrors. It figures t hat Trump and Melania would get into this.
