Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced the new policy during her first press briefing Tuesday.
White House Says It Is Opening Briefing Room to “Podcasters, Social Media Influencers and Content Creators”

Will they let Loomer in?

So Joe Rogan will be on par with a seasoned White House correspondent.
Rogan is a douchebag.

The entire point of this is to let crackpots like Laura Loomer in.

The White House has received more than 7,000 applications for press passes after press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced Tuesday that the West Wing would open the briefing room up to members of the “new media,” The Hill has learned. Leavitt, during her first briefing with reporters this week, said President Trump is ready to retool the administration around what she called “the new media landscape,” including independent content creators, podcasters, social influencers and others in nontraditional media.
“As long as you are creating news content of the day and are a legitimate independent journalist, you are welcome to cover this White House,” she said. The decision comes after a campaign during which Trump largely spurned mainstream press outlets in favor of internet-based media appearances as he worked to court younger voters.
Leavitt said Tuesday she envisions a more equitable briefing room during her time as press secretary, one where she can speak to “all media outlets and personalities” from the podium. Her first questions on Tuesday went to Mike Allen of Axios and then Matt Boyle of Breitbart. “It’s essential to our team that we share President Trump’s message everywhere,” Leavitt said.

Omg like literally this is like literally so great. I'm like literally an influencer and I believe in modernizing (white) rights.

Leavitt also announced that the podcasters, social media influencers and content creators will be given prime seating in front of the legacy media in the spaces usually reserved for heads of department which are right next to the stage.
Funnily enough, there has hardly been any discussion of this in the legacy media for some reason.
This is going to really shake things up and change the media landscape.

R6 and make American citizens even more ill-informed. Never thought I'd live to see the decline of the United States but here we are.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 30, 2025 9:12 AM |
Now you know why they want TikTok.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 30, 2025 9:17 AM |
Agreed R7. It's a fucking SHITSHOW! Not that the legacy media doesn't need a shakeup. Much of the time it's just repeated talking points so there's no honesty or authenticity there. Instead we can expect Loomer, Rogan, Breitbart and Libs of TikTok in the front row of the White House briefing room.
R8 - I'd be completely unsurprised if Musk is allowed to buy TikTok. Trump has made a few comments recently about Musk being interested. Can you imagine the damage which could be done if Musk owns Twitter and TikTok?

"Hello Lamshki Sim from Instagram account LamshkiSim. A question about the past ten days: Is he retarded?"

This was new to me but I was hopefully following up on that ‘’UNFUCK America Tour’’ and it seemed to deteriorate into so much infighting I felt more doomed. Maybe there are currently more cohesive groups of young folks or maybe game over.

Sinister.

Listening to that thing called the ‘’Charlie Kirk’’ certainly was scary. Reincarnation of Nazis I’m sure.

“Podcasters, Social Media Influencers and Content Creators”
In other words, bullshit artists and propagandists.

This is EXACTLY what authoritarianism looks like.
This type of policy isn’t going away when Trump leaves office.
We MUST show up en masse, when midterms occur, & then, afterward.

Long gone are the days of Jim Acosta asking Trump real questions.

They are doing this to solidify their support with Gen Z and millennials, who only get their info from podcasts and influencers.

It makes sense. Legacy media is dead and everyone knows it’s nothing but controlled propaganda.

R21 Right because CNN, MSNBC, and FOX are just so trustworthy and reliable!
I bet you still wear masks in public!

This is going to be dangerous. I’m telling you now. Misinformation is about to be on steroids. I didn’t even see this coming. Holy shit.

I remember when Fox began showing up to WH press conferences. I recall thinking, Why is a right wing propaganda station being accepted as legitimate journalistic media? Isn't this passing a bad threshold and the beginning of a slippery slope? Looks like I was right.
