META today

I read that most of these incidents of spontaneous Dotard/Hillbilly folllows was because they followed the official "POTUS" and "VPOTUS" accounts which obviously changed from the human beings pre J20 to the lying criminal lizards after.

I checked; I did not follow those accounts before, and I do not follow them now. Did anyone here suddenly or newly find they follow Shitler and Jaydeen now?

I've had lots of invites to follow Kid Rock, Carrie Underwood, Mark Zuckerberg, and other MAGA trash... BLOCK, BLOCK, and BLOCK...

Unfollowing doesn’t work.

Lately Facebook has been filling my feed with trash. I will select to hide all future content from the account in question but the next week I will often get more.

In a related story, my YouTube algorithm has changed so that I am no longer getting the liberal news stories that used to automatically show up in my feed. WTF?

Me too, R4. I noticed the algorithms seemed to have changed and I now get suggested content that has nothing to do with content or people I follow. I also find groups for gay men seem to have a lot of gay members who conspicuously seem to have things like common cover photos, likes, etc.

Not me, i feel left out. . . .

I only check out my Friends-specific feed when I go on FB, so I only see what my friends post. If they post a political article or some other dreary nonsense, I block the source of the article (i.e., Talking Points Memo or NYT). I also block all mainstream/legacy media. I see the many many ads inserted in the feed, but it's easy to just scroll past those quickly.

It's time to unhook from Meta. Things are only going to get worse... so it's better to do this sooner than later.

Because there is so much overreaction to, well, just about everything, all the time in the last decades of social media and trolling, we are a bit numb to what actually is happening. As much as possible we need to pull our data from all the big platforms. It's not a drill.

OMG. There’s this account on Instagram called “new.doctrine” that I was automatically subscribed to and featured videos of Trump. There were about 13 videos of him walking from planes and stuff. It was definitely marked as following.

I NEVER would’ve followed that.

I was following @potus before the election, but not @vp, which was added to my followers. Fuckers. I guess I won't be looking at Instagram much anymore.

I blocked couch fucker yesterday, and today he was unblocked. So there’s obviously some fuckery going on.

Just a note: deleting the META accounts really is freeing, so far. Absolutely no impetus FB., given it's no longer there. The engagement crack is no longer on the radar.
