I bet Joe starts off Monday's show mentioning the spat with Michael Steele, and trying to justify it was a difference of opinion, yada yada and Mika will echo his words.

^I have to admit that would be interesting, R5. However, I don't watch the show. It truly was an accident (and out of habit) that I turned the show on Friday when Adnan was speaking, and it went from there. There's been some rumblings over social media about the interchange but not as much as I would have thought. That might be due to the fact that people are not watching. But those who have commented and passed along the interchange were all on Michael's side and Michael knew exactly the impact they he had.
Now, I'm getting a bit jaded. A part of me wondered if it was a setup to bring in viewers. I do lean more towards it was not.
I've come to REALLY like Michael. It wasn't always like that. I couldn't stand him when he became Chairman of the RNC because I knew he was simply being used, and it wasn't something he realized until the white-haired white guy (I forget his name... he had to payout a boy) told him on so national program of what the REAL deal was. Anyway, Michael does NOT hold back. He says that Trum lies and is a liar. There's no cleaning up. He doesn't say "misinformation" or "alternative facts" , or the other BS. He calls it straight.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 12, 2025 7:50 PM |
R6 given the look on Joe's face, and Mika's grimace, I doubt it was a set up. If anything Mika was looking to justify their visit YET AGAIN and used the Obama/Trump interaction to do so. Someone said it above, Joe and Mika are delusional and can't let go of it because they are not used to the overwhelming criticism for their meeting with Trump. Trump really played them for fools.

R6 - That was MAX SCHLAPP - the big flaming queen with the boy toy and fake wife. MSNBC has been promoting the coverage of the EggNog-eration starting at 6am on the 20th - of course the MJ Klan will start the coverage. The weather forecast is supposed to be super cold w/a chance of snow. I WILL NOT be watching any coverage/commentary which should fill up the day so I will be doing other things.
Hopefully the fires in CA will be contained/over by then. What a tragedy for those affected and the country in general. It's just too much to bare.

Just tragic! But... I hope you will understand that in some ways I hope that CA (or someplace else) will have some emergency that will upstage that horrid tragic event. What a sad, sad, SAD, day for our nation...

R10 - yeah, I get your point. The real catastrophe for the country, and possibly the planet, is occurring on the 20th. We shall see how things unfold after 'day one' and all the bluster that led so many to vote for DUMP. I suspect the real power will trot DUMP out to huff and puff as necessary while they do what they can to damage the country while locking in their power.
No matter how dire things get the ones who will bare the brunt of his policies will still praise his perceived greatness. There are so many people running loose in this country that make me glad I'm me!
Thanks for being you!

Well, I've read somewhere that on the first day (or first week) the Administration will raid some business to capture illegal aliens. Of course, those of us with any sense know that this will be a staged event but this is what many of the unwashed want to see. I mean... c'mon... why let something like that leak?
I would argue that there are so many ways that those with common sense could throw a wrench into this scheme to have it blow up in their faces but regardless they will have the images that will loop on FOX and wherever else non-stop.

Okay.... Maybe, I'll watch MSNBC...
Were I Alex Wagner I'd be very, very, pissed.
Chris Hayes is in his own world. Joy Reid will be happy. Lawrence O'Donnell could care less. Jen Psaki... well, she's doing nothing that will ruffle anybody's feathers.

He's trying too hard...
But Joe would argue "Ya see we're equal both sides"...
I'd argue that the program is hemorrhaging ratings, and the show is doing whatever it can to bring viewers back.

Rashida Jones, MSNBC President, Steps Down
The New York Times
20 hours ago — Rebecca Kutler, senior vice president for content strategy at MSNBC, will serve as the cable network's interim president.
Content Strategy and probably sales negotiations.

I fell off of the wagon and watched MJ this morning. It's on now. Then I saw this post on another thread;
[quote]No protest is going to get off the ground because the media is already kneeling. All methods for dissenters to communicate will be gone in months or weeks.
This resonated with me because that is the exact feeling I have as I listen to MJ. Re these tariffs with Canada and Mexico... MJ is constantly referring to it as a deal. What deal? Although MJ mentions that these were signed agreements that were already on the table under the Biden administration, they kept referring to them over and over again as Trump's deal. Trump really got nothing more out of this stupid mishap than what had already been agreed upon.
I guess it is the "careful" wording that MJ presented the information that I'm reacting too...

R27 redditors are saying organization efforts for a feb 5 protest are already being suppressed across social media - on rednote, lots of tiktok and ig users have shown they got banned for posting about luigi or other left wing content. curtis yarvin says that when the butterfly revolution happens, the goal would be to end all opposition media and break the communication networks by april.

I hope she opens with the Go Back To Your Country girls trio and glams up the ridicule of racism.

Here's the next test for Joe & Mika...
Will they have Gene back on the program?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | February 7, 2025 11:51 PM |
Joe is saying the show will have more long form interviews with musicians, actors, artists etc instead of the hyper focus on Trump and politics. Although I don't necessarily disagree with him that people want some escapism and a break from Trump Trump Trump, it does seem a bit strange that in such a consequential time in politics that Joe is changing the show because he thinks people want to hear Christopher Nolan talk about his creative process and Matt Damon discuss making Oppenheimer.
Especially since Joe and Mika went to meet Trump and it was an apparently an opportunity no journalist would turn down and would give them access and influence. Why would they now want to become another entertainment show?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | February 9, 2025 1:09 AM |
Okay, I've fallen off the wagon again. I've been watching segments of "Morning Joe". At least I'm no longer sitting for 3-4 hours watching the show in a catatonic-like state. I wanted to watch it this morning because Chuck Schumer is on it and I want to see him be RIPPED apart!
