Ok, believe me or not - but I recently socialized with one of the actresses on this show and she confessed that the upcoming season isn’t very good. Apparently they’re all aware it’s a sinking ship and want off, ala Juliette Lewis.

R2 I actually enjoyed season 2 even if it wasn’t as good as season 1.

It should have been an eight episode miniseries.

They really are wringing every last drop out of this one. I stopped a few episodes into season two.

Season 2 was shitty and the show has been off for so long I don't know if I will watch.

I think that the show creators missed their targeted audience from the start. It's young queer girls that ship all the female characters on Tumblr, TikTok, Twitter etc. It's why they decided to keep Van around even though they planned on killing her in the season one. Grown up Van and her relationship with Taissa are a big part now. And now they are making Shauna to be bi or whatever. I bet they are kicking themselves in the butts for killing Jackie so early. Cause girls are shipping her and Shauna like crazy on social media. And actress that played her got quite popular lately. So wouldn't be surprised if they bring her back in flashback moments with Shauna. Or if they make more characters gay/bi as they go along

Ella Purnell (Jackie) went on to star in the well-received Fallout series. Not sure if she’d want to return. Her character’s death definitely left a huge hole in the show.

I am still watching but these characters are bitches when young and grown, not many likable people on this show except I felt bad for Coach

I agree, R36. They’re all cunts. They were cunts as teenagers, and they’re cunts at adults. Usually there’s at least one likeable person on a show and this one is void of anyone to like. Or they killed and/or ate the likeable ones.

They need to get to the point of what went down in the woods already. It's starting to drag. I'm getting the feeling that this is going to turn out really disappointing, just like Lost.

They need to end next season, showing the girls getting rescued and the truth coming out in the present. It's basically the only way to save the show at this point.

I like how the "wild" rabbits are the most tame, docile rabbits possible.

I still like this show, but Juliette Lewis is very missed. It's a shame we also lost Simone Kessel this season. All the same, Hilary Swank's chemistry with Melanie Lynskey in this past episode was pretty electrifying. I hope they don't make the mistake of killing off another adult survivor.

I’m shocked this show doesn’t get more attention here. I hate the supernatural element, and it’s hard to follow. This season is better than last season.

I lost interest during the third season and gave it up. Up until then, I enjoyed it.

It went off the rails. First season was so good. There was no need to throw in this supernatural BS into an already spiraling out of control story.

Clinging to the supernatural, to the Wilderness as a vengeful god that rewards sacrifice, is a way for these girls to avoid culpability. I like that this season has tilted more in the direction of rational explanations and revealed the supernatural element to be largely hallucinatory and delusional.

I hate Shauna,Taissa and Van

Shauna has become a truly unlikeable character. The show is very hard to follow, even though Ive watchd every episode since S1.

Melanie Lynskey I have enjoyed in the past but not only is her character nasty she is hard to look at. woof!

To like a show, you have to be able to connect with likeable characters. This show has none. Anyone remotely likeable they killed off.

Another one bites the dust. Why couldn't it be Shauna?

Isn't it fairly obvious that Shauna's daughter is the killer? That explains the DNA match and that character's crazy eyes all this season. It's also the only reason there have been multiple scenes between her and the dad since Shauna left town.

This series continues to get worse with every episode. Shauna was a good lead to begin with, but what they've done with her this season amounts to character assassination. Losing Juliette Lewis was in retrospect the killing blow to this show.

Misty is going to be the last Yellowjacket standing. As she should be.

I’m sooo sick of teen Shauna’s smug face. Certainly Natalie, Melissa, Mari, and some others can overpower her and get the gun.

Why on earth would any of the adult yellowjackets associate with her after they’d been rescued? Trauma bond or not, she’s horrid.

Natalie is the most likable teen character. It was a mistake killing off one of the few likeable people (I assume Juliette Lewis wanted out)

She did want out. They should’ve recast adult Natalie. That was the one teen to adult casting that didn’t work for me. Teen Natalie was so cool, and adult Natalie was just loopy Juliette Lewis (and I like her fine in general, but she didn’t match teen Nat).

So, Antler Queens: predictions for this week's finale?

We know they kill the last frog scientist, so I would guess that with Misty's hoard, they're able to repair the sat phone but collectively decide to only call for help once they purge any evidence of cannibalism. Or some of them are coerced into it, which might explain adult Natalie's substance abuse.

As for what happens in the present, who the fuck knows? This show is so all over the place and still hasn't committed to a basic premise yet--supernatural or psychological--so who knows where they'll go from here. Unfortunately they're now left with deeply unlikable characters to carry the story forward.

Do we know who burned down the cabin? I know coach Ben told Natalie he did it, but I think that was just so she’d kill mercy him. But was he being honest?

I think Hannah the frog scientist is the person we see running through the woods in the first few minutes of the series premiere who falls and gets impaled on the trap Travis just created.

Teenage Shauna has the worst resting bitch face I've ever seen. It sucks that her character lives because I badly want to see her die.

I don't really understand why Melissa killed Van when it was clear Van planned to let her go. I also wonder how long Hilary Swank plans to stick around. Will this be an annual thing now? Lauren Ambrose came in just before Juliette Lewis was killed off and now Hilary shows up right before Lauren dies?

I think next season needs to be the last. The '90s storyline should be the girls getting rescued and covering up with their families and the press juxtaposed with the truth coming finally out in the present day.

I stand corrected! I just assumed Swank was older because she's been around a long time and she LOOKS a good 10 years older than Melanie Lynskey.

I like the Akilah character in the wilderness storyline and hope she has an adult counterpart (though odds are against it). We need a sympathetic adult character in the adult continuity.

Someone who sees visions, r91? I wouldn't be surprised if Akilah returns (she seems to be in the Melissa camp in the wilderness, and I'm wondering if we're going to get a battle between the two groups in the adult timeline) but I'm not sure she's going to be sympathetic.

There is apparently also going to be a third timeline, once they are back home after having been rescued.

It is such a shame they killed Natalie off because she deserved to be the one to kill Shauna. If she wanted to. Hiring Juliette Lewis was a mistake.

Teen Natalie is the best.

It was good to have Simone Kessell back for a little while in the finale, and I still hope the show can get Juliette Lewis back for a flashback or a dream. It will be interesting to see what kind of additional crazy can be summoned by Shauna, next season, who's now been cut off by her family. And I want the show to reveal what the fuck Walter's deal is.
