It's pure horror.
How did The Substance qualify as a comedy at the Golden Globes?

People thought it was funny. Especially the gross scene where Demi is cooking along with the guy on TV.

It's an absurdist comedy which is my favorite. Especially, the ending. Fucking hilarious

OP did you not laugh at the scene where Monstro ElisaSue vomits out a tit?

That movie was all sorts of things. I cried I was repulsed and I laughed. It was great

I love when she pasted a photo of her face over her face and went onstage.

The Substance is probably the most important camp movie since Showgirls.

R7 I'm NOT mad at that. Showgirls is a pretty high bar, but I can't remember anything coming as close as The Substance.

The musical or comedy category is kind of a joke and should probably be renamed. It’s basically code for “good films that aren’t important enough to be judged for other merits”.
The whole drama category is essentially “these are proper films, everything else is lesser.”

I feel like the only person in the world who hated this awful film.

Did the raccoon responsible for chewing on Demi's nipples get an award?

Satiric comedy, OP. Similar to American Psycho.
Not everyone responds to it, while others respond to it when reading the novel, rather than responding to it when watching the film. That was my experience with American Psycho.
I also tend to laugh out loud when reading Stephen King, yet that never translates as humor for me when watching films based on his novels.
