Superman Returns star Brandon Routh hashed out a divorce settlement with his ex-wife, Courtney Ford, only weeks after she filed, In Touch can exclusively report.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Brandon, 45, and Courtney, 46, informed the court of their agreement this week. Courtney, who is an actress who has appeared on Dexter, filed for divorce on January 8 after 17 years of marriage.
In her petition, she listed “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. She did not provide a date of separation in her filing.
The exes share a 12-year-old son, Leo. Courtney asked the court to award her joint legal and physical custody. She asked the court to award her spousal support and for Brandon to be cut off from any support.
In his response, Brandon agreed with Courtney on every request. He admitted the marriage was over due to “irreconcilable differences.”
The actor said spousal support should be paid to Courtney and his right to collect support should be terminated.
Brandon filed his paperwork without the help of a lawyer. In the newly filed document, Courtney said she had reached a Marital Settlement Agreement with Brandon. Per the deal, all outstanding issues have been resolved between the parties.
Per the deal, child support will be paid for Leo and will enough for all his needs. The deal said Brandon waived his right to spousal support.
The terms on how much child support and spousal support will be paid are being kept confidential.
Further, Brandon and Courtney’s deal covered who will pay their divorce legal fees and the division of any community property.
Both parties executed the deal on January 9, only one day after Courtney filed for divorce, but did not submit the agreement in court until this week. Brandon and Courtney wed in 2007 in a ceremony in Santa Barbara, California.
