I saw Josh on Graham Norton a few weeks ago and he seemed like a lot of fun, but you could tell there were lots of demons and skeletons in his closet. I wonder what happened in the Brolin household when those kids were young.

If he refuses help from his family, why can't his father or brother find a way to make it appear the money is coming from someone else or from an agency?

Have someone (an actor!) show up claiming to represent XYZ "Foundation" giving out grants or some obscure government agency, have Jess fill out some bogus forms, tell him he's been approved and his rent will be paid directly to landlord or a monthly deposit will be in his account on the first of each month.

Maybe I'm being naive, but there must be some way to get money to him and help him covertly, that is if James and Josh really want to help him.

If he CHOOSES to be homeless, couldn't they just offer him to live in Barbra's Basement Mall?

How does he even pay for all that food? To maintain 350 lbs, you’d have to eat three meals x 3 a day.

After reading Josh's comments about James, I get the feeling he was a piece of work as a parent growing up. Barbra whitewashes everything. Josh has been arrested for domestic violence himself.

Unless James or Josh can get a guardianship for Jess there’s not much they can do. A variation of this story pops up every few years, and photos of him dumpster diving/looking in trash cans are published. So he could be selling his story for money and allowing a tabloid photographer to take photos of him.

From what Josh has said about his mother I gather she was a ball buster who took no prisoners. She even said once prior to her death that Jess had "issues" and that most of them probably stemmed from her in some way or another.

Jerry Lewis' homeless daughter, Suzan Lewis Minoret in Philly in 2017. She was 64 at the time. She suffered a head injury in a car accident and has cognitive problems. She did a DNA test with Jerry's oldest son.

I feel bad for him. The skin on his calves look troubling. He should see a doctor.
