She knew what you said about her. And it killed her.

by Anonymousreply 1January 2, 2025 11:31 PM

Stow it, Vera!

by Anonymousreply 2January 2, 2025 11:36 PM

Our dear Linda was a Libra.

by Anonymousreply 3January 2, 2025 11:39 PM

Did she ever have her anus bleached?

by Anonymousreply 4January 2, 2025 11:46 PM

R4. Her anal bleaching was the inspiration for that horrible hair color/style in OP's photo

by Anonymousreply 5January 3, 2025 12:15 AM

I am stunned this went to a Part 2.

BOPPITY BOP!

by Anonymousreply 6January 3, 2025 12:15 AM

Guys, she founded a charity to support victims of anal bleaching. Come on.

Linda Lavin, who tickled our funny bones and broke our hearts,

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 13January 3, 2025 12:54 AM

The only comfort in all this is Linda has Bonnie in heaven to greet her, to show her around, etc.

They’re probably developing a costarring vehicle together to do up in that big dinner theater in the sky. Maybe that female version of “The Odd Couple”?

And some day, some of us here will get to see it!

by Anonymousreply 14January 3, 2025 1:15 AM

R14. Better them then me and that bitch Rita Moreno

by Anonymousreply 15January 3, 2025 1:19 AM

She tickled neither or funny bones or our clitties.

Well, sure enough, this Linda Lavin thread has outpaced the Jimmy Carter thread. However, we still have the funeral (JC) to go. We can see who showed up, who didn't. Who was avoiding who(m). Who was dressed nicely for a funeral. ETC.!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 18January 3, 2025 1:24 AM

Is Linda's sendoff complete with a 100 Straw Exploding Salute?

by Anonymousreply 19January 3, 2025 1:26 AM

Is the rumor true that Shirley Jones was considered for the Alice sitcom? I can only imagine her years later putting it in her autobiography that Philip McKeon’s dick was a whopper but still didn’t measure up to her beloved Jack and Davids’ cocks.

Ok - can we solve who Barbara Wheaton is? In the Husband’s video he put the pot pot roast in the oven. After Boggle - Linda went back to bed. Barbara climbed in bed to read to Linda. Linda asked Steve to take Barbara out for a walk on the beach. Barbara disappears from the story at that point. Next we have Steve driving Linda to the the hospital. Then he mentions coming home alone. Is Barbara still wali g on the beach?

by Anonymousreply 50January 6, 2025 3:45 AM

And who took the pot roast out of the oven? Was that Linda who was supposedly sleeping while Steve and " Barbara" took an hour long stroll on the beach? Or was this concocted so that the police couldn't get a proper time of death?

by Anonymousreply 51January 6, 2025 4:01 AM

by Anonymousreply 53January 6, 2025 8:11 PM

I always found the comparisons between Lavin and Bonnie Franklin on the DL to be such an injustice to Linda. Whatever she was like behind the scenes, onscreen she always presented as warm and likable. The same cannot be said for the Bonstress. There's a very obvious reason why one actress continued to work in high-pofile stage and television projects for the rest of her life, while the other one wound up playing stock and shilling tap dance videos...

by Anonymousreply 54January 6, 2025 9:40 PM

Personal likes or dislikes aside, they did have very similar trajectories for a time.

Both were on Broadway before their lengthy TV runs.

Both of their series ran for 9 seasons - Alice was 202 episodes, One Day at a Time 209.

Both had singing and dancing backgrounds.

Both had costars that feuded with them (Polly Holliday for Linda, Mary Louise Wilson for Bonnie).

Both were part of that song and dance mess with Hal Linden.

by Anonymousreply 66January 27, 2025 6:02 AM

R55 I read Mary Louise Wilson's Book, "She Was the Best Thing In It".

She really doesn't trash ODAAT much at all. I was kinda disappointed. Basically, she claimed she hated living in LA, and really wanted to get back to New York so Norman Lear let her out of her contract. If she said anything at all about Bonnie Franklin, It wasn't interesting enough for me to recall.

And she had no trouble trashing people in the book, so that wasn't it.

by Anonymousreply 81March 23, 2025 6:41 PM

What's interesting is Lavin died the weekend between Christmas and New Year's. Many daily shows were in repeats or specials that week. However, the following week I expected to see her mentioned on 'CBS Sunday Morning' - after all, she was a staple on the network for nine years, and very recently she co-starred on their new series 'Elsbeth' last spring. Nothing was said of Lavin. Often they will even re-broadcast an older interview they did on the network - nothing.

When 'The View' returned on the 6th, they covered a few celebrity / newsworthy deaths but not a mention of Lavin who was so popular on television and Broadway.

by Anonymousreply 82March 23, 2025 7:28 PM

R83 Sunny demanded that the View only pay tribute to women of color.

by Anonymousreply 83March 23, 2025 7:37 PM

Apparently Linda Lavin is more popular after her death than she ever was alive.

by Anonymousreply 84March 23, 2025 7:43 PM

My hunch is that Sunny as the lowest likeability ratings of all the View cohosts

by Anonymousreply 85March 23, 2025 7:44 PM

What did Flow do that pissed off Linda?

by Anonymousreply 86March 23, 2025 7:46 PM

R86 Flo had sex with Tommy in the infamous episode " The Prime of Miss Florence Castleberry". Lavin wanted to sing the song "Mrs. Robinson" during the scenes of them having sex, but Polly Holliday said, "No way".

by Anonymousreply 87March 23, 2025 8:29 PM

R87. That's right. Flo couldn't walk for a week.

by Anonymousreply 88March 23, 2025 10:13 PM

In a You Tube video, her husband said while driving to the hospital, she died sitting next to him in front seat. He pulled over called 911, EMTs arrived, they removed her to hospital where they were heading.

by Anonymousreply 89March 23, 2025 10:57 PM

R82 I could have sworn they replayed Mo Rocca's interview. But that might have only been reposted on YouTube.

by Anonymousreply 90March 23, 2025 10:59 PM

The old bitch finally croaked??? Who knew. Or cared.

by Anonymousreply 91March 23, 2025 11:03 PM

R90 I think it was only on YT. "CBS Sunday Mornings" didn't do anything for her. At this late point, I don't think they will. Who did she piss off at CBS before she died ?

by Anonymousreply 92March 23, 2025 11:23 PM
