I knew an Osmond or a Jackson were goners soon.

Was this the brother that watched open heart surgery in person as his hobby?

This is devastating. Donny got all the props, but I’ve always believed that it was Wayne who was the guts of the Osmond sound.

Yikes ! This past weekend, my friends and I were talking about music groups from the early 70s we used to listen to as kids. Of course, the Partridge Family, the Jackson 5 and the Osmonds came up. We knew two of the original Jacksons are gone (Michael and Tito), two from the Partridge Family (David Cassidy and Suzanne Crough) but we couldn't remember if anyone from The Osmond brothers had died. Looked it up on our phones and nope - all alive...until yesterday. We jinxed it.

Awww, that's a shame. He was a Las Vegas legend and he'll be missed.

Pluto TV has a 70s music video channel and they show one performance video of the Osmond Klan and boy is it a shit show. A bunch of uncoordinated whiter than white boys dancing and singing. The best part is watching their backup band react to what's going on in front of them, they're laughing at them.

Watched a documentary about the family on YouTube where the brothers were interviewed. He seemed sad about not being able to pursue his dream of being a Flight Surgeon and having to be a part of the singing group instead. I believe he was also the one most upset by how diminished the brothers became during the Donny and Marie Show. He knew it was over for the group when they were dressed in chicken suits on the Donny & Marie Show.

The family had almost their entire wealth from all their 1970s recordings, merchandise and touring when it was lost by corrupt financial advisors and investors. They spent the rest of their careers trying to gain back some financial security.

R12, he should have known when they started pushing Jimmy (a cousin Oliver/ the Chachi Arcola of the family).

While they were pushing Jimmy, and giving Donny a chance to become a 'young man' from being cute kid, The Jacksons were pushing their younger brother 'Randy Jackson' and allow Michael to become a young man from being cute kid. Didn't work for either family.

They tried so hard to make Marie a star. She just wasn't. Donny was at his sexiest and most 'star like' in the late 80s (when he tried to copy George Michael) with his album 'Soldier of Love', and then went on to do 'Joseph' and showed off his sexy body.

When you've had a lifetime of good nutrition and medical care, 73 is a little youn g to go. Sure, we all love making jokes about the Osmonds -they are an easy target. But when it comes down to it, it's sad that someone who was a part of my childhood has died. RIP Wayne.

Jimmy Osmond TERRIFIED me when I was young.

He would show up on talk shows and specials....even the Love Boat, and I would get so nervous, I would have to leave the room.

My grandparents loved The Osmonds, so we had to watch every damn thing they did, We even went to see "Goin' Coconuts" in the theater. I was OK with them, for the most part.

There was just something about Jimmy's face that caused irrational fear in me. It must still be a thing, because as soon as I saw his name above, I got a chill.
