Have you ever used a Psychic?

I went to a psychic once. She even made a tape of the session and gave it to me.

She was wrong about pretty much everything but it was a lot of fun.

You?

by Anonymousreply 51January 12, 2025 2:54 AM

Then she wasn’t a real psychic. As a real psychic I loathe how we are constantly mocked.

by Anonymousreply 1January 1, 2025 11:07 PM

No, but I would do it for fun.

by Anonymousreply 2January 1, 2025 11:10 PM

Yes, in Cassadaga, FL and it was really accurate

by Anonymousreply 3January 1, 2025 11:13 PM

I used and abused a psychic

by Anonymousreply 4January 1, 2025 11:22 PM

Not seeing what would be fun about a visit to someone who says they can see the future. How would it be fun, I’m wondering.

And why couldn’t the psychic predict the stock market?

by Anonymousreply 5January 1, 2025 11:23 PM

I've been going to psychics since I was a teenager, I'm 58 now. The most accurate ones I've ever had a reading by was Touching Souls. Cheryl and Kimm are mother/daughter mediums and they were both accurate. They're in Utah but they do phone readings.

Everything they said came true.

by Anonymousreply 6January 1, 2025 11:34 PM

I went to one, once. She only told me a few things, but all of them came true.

by Anonymousreply 7January 1, 2025 11:38 PM

R5, I don't think psychics claim to see the future. I think they "read" you in those sessions and then advise on what to do or not to do based on your observed personality traits during the session.

by Anonymousreply 8January 1, 2025 11:39 PM

I went to one years ago in Honolulu, she was this tiny Vietnamese lady, you had to wait in line in her living room & they would call you in when it was your time. It was crazy, she shuffled some cards & laid them out, looked @ me & started telling me about my life, my family & a guy I was seeing @ the time. Scarily accurate. Down to what was on my BF's license plate IN ARIZONA!! Wonder if she is still around, her name was Lan or Lon Vo, lived in Kaimuki. Made me a believer for sure!

by Anonymousreply 9January 2, 2025 12:13 AM

I went to one in Worcester, MA from the mid 1990s - 2017 (she retired). She was the real deal. Sometimes the readings didn't make sense at all, but she gave me everything on a recording. Every month I would listen to the recording, and little by little - everything she said started making sense / was happening in my life. (I would go to her every nine months or so).

I'll never forget when I closed my business in June, 2011 I waited to go see her - waited until the summer of 2012. Right away she picked up on the fact I had closed my business and was looking for work. She then said I was going to be offered a great job that I was going to love but I needed to be patient - it wasn't coming my way until the end of 2013. She asked, 'Are you looking to work in a bookstore ?' I said 'no'. She asked if was planning on returning to school in the future - I said no. She kept seeing I was going to be working with books (she saw me surrounded by books) and I would be going back to school to get another degree. She kept seeing me walking on a college campus. I still have the tape, and she said 'there's something inter-twined there between the college and the job where you're surrounded with books'.

In October, 2013 a very good friend of mine who worked at a nearby university told me he was talking to the library director, and they had a position open which would be perfect for me as a library assistant. I applied, interviewed and was offered the job all within a matter of weeks. I started the end of November in 2013. I had to 'walk across the campus' from the parking lot to get to the campus library. For the longest time, I loved that job (I grew tired of it after ten years, and left the end of 2023).

THAT was just once where she was on target, but I had no idea what she was talking about at the reading. Many more stories to share...

by Anonymousreply 10January 2, 2025 12:17 AM

Yes I did once. At a crucial time in my life, too. I already knew the answer to what I was asking. She was wrong and so was I. I spent $40.00 and learned a very hard lesson.

by Anonymousreply 11January 2, 2025 2:46 AM

I used a few of them. Some started out accurate-ish and then flopped. Others came in varying shades of truth. The last one, a couple of years ago, was accurate. Her name is Cindi Sansone-Braff.

by Anonymousreply 12January 2, 2025 3:06 AM

R5 You’re very lonely and sad.

by Anonymousreply 13January 2, 2025 3:08 AM

I saw one who used tarot cards and what she said about me was accurate. She didn't really predict my future though.

by Anonymousreply 14January 2, 2025 3:11 AM

My Ouija board told me to "Kill them all" but did not specify.

by Anonymousreply 15January 2, 2025 3:23 AM

I received a gift reading from a friend, the psychic was so bogus. She said "Why are you here?", I told her I was looking for any information that she could give me. We went back and forth because she was trying to get me to feed her with something she could build on. She said that I recently lost my job, answer no, then you are worried about losing you job, again the answer is no. Finally she settled on my brother would soon receive a traffic ticket. I noticed she had a plastic "crystal" ball on a chair with a roll of paper towels and a stack of old newspapers.

by Anonymousreply 16January 2, 2025 3:32 AM

I find it all entertaining, but I can certainly predict my future based on my choices, more than a stranger can, and even then, we have zero will in regards to the randomness of life.

I wonder how many of the victims in the NOLA terror attack saw a psychic who correctly predicted that they’d be killed by a stranger driving a truck into a crowd they’d be a part of?

Probably none.

by Anonymousreply 17January 2, 2025 3:39 AM

r17 Please take a writing class.

by Anonymousreply 18January 2, 2025 3:42 AM

I just did, R18!

Want to know what I learned to write?

“Bite me.”

by Anonymousreply 19January 2, 2025 3:46 AM

Yes, out of boredom at a fair. I thought that they'd be full of crap.

Straight off the bat she said something that could not have been from a cold reading. It was very personal and did not relate to a dead relative or friend trying to get a message through or someone close to me having an illness.

I can't remember what else she said because her initial statement had me in shock that she had a gift. I went in as a skeptic. I don't know what I am now.

by Anonymousreply 20January 2, 2025 6:07 AM

R20 What was it that she said ? Please share - this is very interesting.

by Anonymousreply 21January 2, 2025 12:07 PM

R21, too personal, sorry.

by Anonymousreply 22January 2, 2025 12:12 PM

My old roommate spends hundreds on psychics each month.

by Anonymousreply 23January 5, 2025 9:01 PM

I prefer senna tea and prune juice.

by Anonymousreply 24January 5, 2025 9:15 PM

No, I have a working brain and not a gullible bone in my body.

by Anonymousreply 25January 5, 2025 9:16 PM

If you are going to psychics, they are using you and not the other way around.

by Anonymousreply 26January 5, 2025 9:29 PM

They are real. Some of em anyway. Easy to get swept up with a few targeted hits that no one would know. But in the long run is it really worth it?

by Anonymousreply 27January 5, 2025 9:35 PM

Yes, in a tiny town in NH right over the Mass line. She smoked like a chimney and was frighteningly accurate.

She was right about everything.

by Anonymousreply 28January 5, 2025 10:17 PM

I was in college in the middle of my term. A lady was invited to speak to us. One of our students in the class had a mother who was a psychic. She spoke to us about her past. She said only her and her sister had the gift in her family. We broke for a few minutes and she asked if anyone wanted a quick reading. I went up and she told me I was getting ready to take a trip. Well, it was winter and I was in the first part of the term so I knew this couldn't happen. Well, a few weeks later I was taking a trip to Jacksonville Florida to deliver a car to my older brother and picking up his which would be come mine. I have gone to her 5 times over my lifetime and she gave me other information that was correct. She died in 2023 at age 99.

by Anonymousreply 29January 5, 2025 11:00 PM

I will share another story about the psychic in Worcester, MA I used to go to...

The last reading I had with her was in the summer of 2019 (she retired from doing readings shortly after). She never went straight out to tell me someone in my life was going to die, she always hinted at it (after the person died, I would listen to the last reading I had with her and again, everything fell into place). So on this day in early June of 2019, she told me my dad was going to die within a year. (I never told her whether my dad was living or deceased, so this intrigued me).

She told me that my dad was going die from a respiratory illness, but she ruled out lung cancer, pneumonia, etc. She said she couldn't figure out what it was but it was going to be fatal, and it was something which didn't have a cure. I tensed up, and she told me that she had been seeing this in a lot of readings the past few months and admitted she was baffled by what this respiratory illness was. She said he wasn't going to suffer, he would pass within a few days of being infected. On the hour drive home, I was telling my friend and she kept saying "She's probably wrong...don't dwell on this..." My friend also reminded me my dad was a healthy 87 year old, hardly ever sick a day in his life an on no medications. I have to say she was very comforting on the way home, but for the next year I kept my eye on my dad and tried to spend as much time with him as possible (he lived at home with me, and we got along great).

Sure enough, at the end of May, 2020 he was diagnosed with COVID and passed away a few days later. After the funeral, and everything settled, I told my sister about the reading (I didn't tell her a year earlier as I didn't want her to worry). I also reminded my friend about the reading I had a year earlier - she had forgotten all about it.

My stories to share next time...

by Anonymousreply 30January 5, 2025 11:04 PM

A new friend took me to her church which featured a spiritualist. We had to bring a flower to the meeting and leave them at the front. When the spiritualist picked up mine she predicted cars in my future. I had met the new friend in training in a call centre booking taxis. I hated that job. The friend quit after the training and before having to take calls on the floor. She was smart.

by Anonymousreply 31January 5, 2025 11:56 PM

Can anyone recommend a good psychic in Cassadaga, FL or Lily Dale, NY? These are two of the more famous psychic communities and there must be a few worth mentioning.

by Anonymousreply 32January 11, 2025 2:11 AM

How funny, I'm watching a doc about psychics on Max called Look Into My Eyes.

by Anonymousreply 33January 11, 2025 2:14 AM

I fucked a psychic until they begged for mercy

by Anonymousreply 34January 11, 2025 2:22 AM

Went to my gay barber's NYE party in 1991 and a black drag queen friend of his was there reading the Tarot for his guests. Came my turn, I sat down, and she laid out the cards. She was hesitating to give me the reading and I asked her to go on. She told me I would lose a parent in 1992. My mother died in January 1992. The reader knew nothing about me or my family. I had never met her until that NYE. She was the real deal. I have not been to a psychic since.

by Anonymousreply 35January 11, 2025 2:30 AM

My friend went to Sister Anne, Palm Reader, and said that it went south right after she took a pass on buying a $50 "talisman" i.e. shitty doll

by Anonymousreply 36January 11, 2025 2:53 AM

A fool and his money soon part ways

by Anonymousreply 37January 11, 2025 3:13 AM

My friend dragged me to one when we were 17. Everything she said has turned out to be wrong. And I knew it at the time even. I was going to have two boys? No, I knew even then I wasn't going to have kids.

by Anonymousreply 38January 11, 2025 3:14 AM

I had my Tarot read by a woman at a party, I asked her about future relationships. After laying out and reviewing the cards, She freaked out and declined to answer. I took that as a bad sign. She was right to avoid an answer. that was 12 years ago and I haven't really had a good one since. It was a free so couldn't really complain but it left me concerned.

by Anonymousreply 39January 11, 2025 3:20 AM

Years ago, on a lark, I went to a psychic. I asked about a love interest. She said that in the following November (about 15 months later) he needed to be concerned about his health. He ended up being killed that very November. But he was otherwise healthy.

by Anonymousreply 40January 11, 2025 3:33 AM

OP, your lucky numbers are 12, 43, 55, 69.

You need to floss better, and you have some heavy dental work coming up.

Quit lying, because you're going to be caught.

You will never find true love or wealth, unless you change your personality and substance use.

And, finally, you're adopted.

by Anonymousreply 41January 11, 2025 3:37 AM

I couldn’t overcome my deep disbelief when I saw one. She was an older women & not particularly skilled at selling the con. At one point, she leaned into me, &, in a conspiratorial voice, asked, “Who’s talking to a lawyer?” I leaned into her &, mimicking her tone, said, “You are.”

by Anonymousreply 42January 11, 2025 6:05 AM

Wow! This caught like wild fire.

by Anonymousreply 43January 11, 2025 6:37 AM

I believe some people are HIGHLY intuitive.

I’m one of those people, & I’ve had multiple experiences that I cannot rationalize, that support my assessment regarding my intuitiveness.

That stated, while it definitely intrigues me, I decided long ago to not really get into it and develop it to a point where I start believing I can foresee the future for myself or others. I don’t believe that’s necessarily a good thing for my mental health. I prefer facts, and I prefer logic and a sense of safety.

As others have mentioned on this thread, I too had a lifelong friend who spent TONS of money on psychics. It was a weekly thing for her, and eventually she chose that over remaining sober and traditional therapy. She spun out of control in a way that I feel is very dark. There’s no other way of describing it. I believe she’s made some choices in life that are beyond questionable, and could lead to some serious legal ramifications. Eventually, after 20 something years, I abruptly cut off my friendship with her, and I told her exactly why. It was serious enough that I wasn’t going to ghost her. She deserved to know that she was walking on very thin ice and making some very horrible decisions.

I have no idea what she’s up to at this time, but I’m sure she’s using psychics as she’s addicted to confirmation bias, which any decent psychic who wants returning customers, knows how to deliver, surely.

by Anonymousreply 44January 11, 2025 11:53 AM

Yes. Very accurate both times. I was told things that were just incredibly personal to me. I was skeptical and determined to be a blank slate and give little away. Maybe in a hundred years therell be a device that allows us talk to spirits. 100 years ago no one would have believed we cud facetime someone on the other side of the world yet telepathy existed for some.

by Anonymousreply 45January 11, 2025 12:25 PM

[quote] Have you ever used a Psychic?

Yes. We asked his to come play softball but he had no arms and legs. So we used him as first base.

by Anonymousreply 46January 11, 2025 12:28 PM

OP was it Dionne Warwick?

by Anonymousreply 47January 11, 2025 12:39 PM

A psychic told me I would be getting the most amazing poosie that’s much better than humping the couch. Sure enough, soon afterwards, I met Lady Lindzebelle.

by Anonymousreply 48January 11, 2025 1:11 PM

The best explanation I've heard for ESP is "having a memory that is not your own." It happened to me. I was walking in SF and I looked over and saw the lights come on on the roof of a nearby hospital. "St. Lukes." All of a sudden I had a "memory" that was not my own. I thought, "I've got to write a thank you letter to the paramedics" WTF? Why would I do that? The next morning my boyfriend had some kind of seizure and collapsed in front of me, not breathing. I grabbed the phone and called the paramedics and they came over and took him to . . . St. Luke's Hospital. He was fine and I wrote that letter to the paramedics.

by Anonymousreply 49January 12, 2025 1:25 AM

I’m not sure what the point of a Psychic would be. Instead of the Psychic telling me my future, maybe I should just live it and be surprised

by Anonymousreply 50January 12, 2025 2:26 AM

LOL, R50!

Most reasonable response yet on this thread.
