Movies with amazing casts
Whatever you think of the film - what are the movies that had absolutely amazing and varied casts who gave it all they were worth?
For me:
Gone With the Wind
The 1935 A Midsummer Night's Dream
The 1970s Murder on the Orient Express
It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World
Gosford Park
Oppenheimer
Avengers: Infinite War
This might seems strange, but Creepshow and The Dark Crystal are films from my childhood that I watch again and again and this is largely due to the performances.

R1, good one! I was obsessed with that film as a kid, and yes, its cast is amazing.

Killer Joe (2011).
Thomas Haden Church, Emile Hirsch, Gena Gershon, Juno Temple and McConaughey are ALL extremely convincing as scheming, amoral Texas trash. It's one of the best ensemble movies I've seen.

American Hustle. Even the "lesbian" ADA from Law & Order was good.

I just watched Manhattan Murder Mystery and there were so many Sopranos actors in that: Hesh, Janice, etc.
Joy Behar popped up.

R9 - I watched it again a few years ago and it was a pleasant surprise to also see Zach Braff as well - and Marge Redmond (from The Flying Nun)

Yeah, count me in with Orient Express. They even get a curtain call at the end.

Alice in Wonderland is always a good opportunity for an all star cast. I enjoyed this one from the late 90s with Miranda Richardson as the Queen of Hearts and Whoopi as the Cheshire cat. There was also the 80s version with Carol Channing turning into a goat. We used to have proper films, nowadays it's a bunch of Charlie nobodys!

Even with that cast, the remake/update of "The Women" stank.

For a lot of the ensemble all-star cast films from around the 1970s, you could better served watching a good line-up night of Dick Cavett or Johnny Carson or a catty episode of Night Gallery where there was the hint of spontaneity - in place of overacted lines by old stars who needed some easy cash.

No one has mentioned "Alien"?
Possibly the best cast of any horror film, with "Creepshow" coming in a close second.
The original "Night of the Living Dead" cast was all unknowns, few of whom went on to anything else, but it wouldn't be the movie it is without them.

R62 is correct. Murder on the Orient Express is BORING compared to the other Poirot movies.

R46, shitty film, but a great cast. And yes, they gave it their all.
Fun fact, two of my friends live in the old mansion where the film was made.

R42 I found Gary Merrill’s was the weakest performance in All About Eve, especially one scene where his character discusses theater with Eve in Margo’s dressing room. Celeste Holm described Davis’ and Merrill’s behavior as generally awful during the filming. They also appeared in film called Another Man’s Poison, set in the UK, and Merrill is better in that second film.
All About Eve a really cool old film, though.

Knives Out had a great cast, even though the movie itself was meh.
Bonus: One of the most embarrassingly bad accents by way of Daniel Craig
