GOP Congresswoman missing for six months found in memory care facility
And they think Biden's problematic? Regardless, right wing looney fighting is music to my ears.
[QUOTE]A U.S. Congresswoman disappeared for the last six months of her term. Nobody noticed.
[QUOTE]Turns out she's in a memory care unit, & her staff (and apparently other people?) covered it up (though she was somehow propped up for an event a month ago?)
[QUOTE]the funny thing about this story is that the arch-conservative Dallas Express only cared about this story because Granger went against the House Freedom Caucus and voted to keep the government running like nine months ago so she became a persona non grata

A Republican Congresswoman who has been “missing” for the past six months has finally been found.
Rep. Kay Granger has served as the representative for Texas’s 12th Congressional District since 1997.
However, she suddenly disappeared from the public eye around July this year, when she cast her final vote against an amendment to reduce the salary of Deputy Assistant Administrator for Pesticide Programs to $1.

Granger was part of a group of eight Republicans who spent July 4, 2018, meeting with Russian officials in advance of Trump's summit with Vladimir Putin.

Politicians staying in office until death, or near death, and are at an advanced age with serious limitations in competency and physical adaptation, have very troubling health issues, need to go. Term limits and a mandatory retirement age of 75 or so need to be in place. Capitol Hill need not be a nursing home.
Voters keep re-re-electing them. A 91 y.o. Chuck Grassley, who is MAGA to the core, and there are ethics questions? There are others in worse shape than him.

You demanded President Biden to remove himself from the ticket and you received your wish.
Will you demand all the other old fucks remove themselves from the running, or is this a demand reserved for the Democrats.

All of them R10. Both sides. There are far too many federal politicians who need to be wheeled in and out on a stretcher because they are barely alive and should be in a nursing home. McConnell and Pelosi - looking at you both to start with. 70 should be the cut off for all federal politicians. There are far too many ancient politicians who are so old they can barely function but they will not let younger politicians have a chance.

My mom had Alzheimer's. It wasn't until six years after formal diagnosis that she started the wandering off stuff. (Mind you she had exhibited symptoms of memory loss and confusion for at least a year prior).I was her in home caretaker so she never got lost. Her last attempt at taking off was at 1:00 a.m. when I found her getting dressed because she wanted to go out to eat.
This lady was really far along. And there's more like her.
From the article linked at r31
[QUOTE]had been living in assistance care “for some time after having been found wandering lost and confused in her former Cultural District/West 7th neighborhood,”
[QUOTE]Congress will of course pretend to be shocked by all of this but Granger’s cognitive decline is plainly obvious to anyone who’s seen her speak over the past several years. Granger speaks slowly and haltingly, reading verbatim from a written script — the same method used by 79-year-old Rep. David Scott, as I reported on recently. Scott does so because “he has trouble carrying out substantive conversations in real time,” according to Politico.
[QUOTE]A very prominent Washington journalist privately complimented me on my gerontocracy coverage recently. When I asked why this isn’t a beat in light of all the scandals and of course public interest, he bluntly responded that media are so reliant on sources in Congress for access that they don’t want to bite the hand that feeds them.

She clearly has been incapable to carrying out her duties in Congress for months and she should have been removed and replaced. But her staff has been lying all this time. I'm sure republican higher ups have known about her mental issues all along.

^ The GQP needed her one vote, so they prop her up like Weekend at Bernie's. Mike Johnson will have an even slimmer margin in the 119th Congress.
Of course Dems did the same thing with DiFi. Same situation, slim margin in the Senate.

Democrats wanted Feinstein to go, but the bitch refused.
You can’t drag someone out of their seat if they refuse to voluntarily.
Turtle refuses to go, too. So does that fucking corpse Grassley.
But dumb fucks still vote for these fossils.
Maybe ballots should be printed with AGE, too.

[quote] I wish Nancy Mace would disappear for 6 months. Or permanently
Nancy Mace is 47 and gives off vibes that she is mentally ill. Who knows maybe she'll get diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's or dementia?. Mace has a lot of enemies with both Republicans and Democrats. Some Republicans might not be willing to cover up for her.

I love the exaggerated name for the place she's living now. It's a NURSING HOME. 'Memory care facility' only makes it seem better to those who've never had to deal with old people with dementia before.
