They’ve lost their damn minds.
As if Jessica Fletcher wasn’t annoying enough 🙄🙄😒😒

Someone make lobster stew out of r1!
by Anonymous | reply 2 | December 16, 2024 7:10 PM |
She's the wrong kind of actor for that role. For Jessica Fletcher you want a consummate actress who's smart, eccentric, and fun.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | December 16, 2024 7:30 PM |
Hi!
by Anonymous | reply 4 | December 16, 2024 7:32 PM |
Bring back Angela!
by Anonymous | reply 5 | December 16, 2024 7:53 PM |
R3, JLC is wrong because she doesn't suit the "Cozy Mystery" genre.
Her physical appearance, her sharp-angled face, precludes JLC from seeming a naive, maybe somewhat dithering, elderly woman who is of no threat to murderers in her midst.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | December 17, 2024 3:38 AM |
Oh FUCK no.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | December 17, 2024 3:46 AM |
This entire project makes no sense.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | December 17, 2024 3:48 AM |
At least it's better than Billy Porter.

Murder, Shenis Wrote
by Anonymous | reply 10 | April 29, 2025 3:02 PM |
I'll only watch if JLC is the first one murdered.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | April 29, 2025 3:05 PM |
It should be Margot Martindale.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | April 29, 2025 3:09 PM |
Um, nope. Terrible miscasting.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | April 29, 2025 3:13 PM |
Great decision. Can't wait for JLC to bring her trannie kid on the show. I'll watch with glee just to see the anti-,trans trolls collective heads explode.

"Murder He/She Wrote."
by Anonymous | reply 15 | April 29, 2025 3:26 PM |
Jessica Fletcher was calm, warm, classy, sensible.
JLC is sassy and broad and hectoring.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | April 29, 2025 3:29 PM |
There’s no way she’ll be a retired English teacher from Maine in this one.
She’ll be a retired female marine who started her own vegan catering service only to leave it to focus on climate change. Her best friends will be a very capable woman of color, who happens to be her late wife’s sister, and a young, gender nonconforming, undocumented kid from Central America.
She will girlboss very close to the sun, but will always come out unscathed.

Her name is Jamie Lee Curtis, not Lee-Curtis.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | April 29, 2025 3:41 PM |
Jessica Fletcher IS Jamie Lee Curtis!
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 29, 2025 3:49 PM |
I don't know her.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | April 29, 2025 3:50 PM |
Viola should have been chosen. This is racist!
by Anonymous | reply 21 | April 29, 2025 3:53 PM |
I am actually looking forward to it. As long as she doesn't play THE Jessica Fletcher her character can be whatever they want her to be. The concept of MSW is not that complex. Everybody can play the lead. More important to me is that they capture the essence. That's where I am a bit confused. MSW was always led by a homely spinster. So I am curious what they do with Curtis in the movie.

Lansbury was always so protective of the show and her character. IIRC she made some statements against a recast or even just a reboot of the show. I thought that was a little rich considering that the entire show was very openly a knock-off of Agatha Christie's Miss Marple.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | April 29, 2025 3:59 PM |
Will she be a serial killer like Jessica Fletcher?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | April 29, 2025 3:59 PM |
WHET the M,SW project with Octavia Spencer? She would’ve been a way better lead for this.
R22, Angela Lansbury’s Jessica Fletcher was neither homely nor a spinster.

Maybe they do it like the Matlock revival where the title was really just a ruse for something different, not even in the same story universe.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | April 29, 2025 4:02 PM |
This is going to be good. I hear they cast Chuck Norris as Dr. Seth Hazlitt.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | April 29, 2025 4:10 PM |
I'm hanging on for a revival of the Snoop Sisters with Glenn and Meryl.

She’s set to play Kay Scarpetta’s sister Dorothy in the Amazon Prime series Scarpetta. Nicole Kidman plays Kay and both actresses are co-producers.
Is it going to be all JLC all of the time?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | April 29, 2025 11:26 PM |
Murder Shim Wrote
by Anonymous | reply 34 | April 30, 2025 12:20 AM |
The last ten minutes when Jessica solves the crime will always begin her saying, "How Dare You!!!"
by Anonymous | reply 35 | April 30, 2025 12:21 AM |
Octavia or Olivia Colman would be good in this.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | April 30, 2025 12:30 AM |
If she weren't already doing Murd...er, Matlock on tv, I would have said that Kathy Bates would have been perfect in a "Murder, She Wrote" movie.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | April 30, 2025 12:33 AM |
Me, too, R37. Kathy could act circles around JLC in that part.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | April 30, 2025 12:35 AM |
If they're considering JLC, I'm betting that the movie will have Jessica Fletcher be a much more ass-kicking than sweet old lady.
It'll be old lady girl-power with her beating up the bad guys.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | April 30, 2025 12:43 AM |
Murder, She Tucked

With her cock. Her nasty, hairy cock.

Elsbeth reminds me slightly of Jessica Fletcher. Eccentric main character who’s always underestimated, and the show has guest stars that rotate as the murderer.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | April 30, 2025 1:11 AM |
I actually think drew barrymore could do it in 20 years
by Anonymous | reply 43 | April 30, 2025 1:32 AM |

When will they stop shoving this she-male down our throats?
by Anonymous | reply 46 | April 30, 2025 2:24 AM |
I liked her in A Fish Called Wanda. That's about it.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | April 30, 2025 2:34 AM |
R12, Margo Martindale may be playing another famous TV detective in a year or two. I can't say more (someone I know is working on getting a show produced and wants her for the role, but it's not my story to tell). I think that if it comes to pass, you'll like it.
(This person is already successful in the business, so it's not like it's just some rando's pipe dream.)
by Anonymous | reply 48 | April 30, 2025 2:34 AM |
I hope Alok Vaid-Menon will be her sidekick.
