They are not flirting. Through the course of the interview, both actors realize that the other is probably on the Spectrum. They acknowledge as much by the end of the interview.

The pairing was probably arranged by someone who had become acquainted with both separately and noticed how much alike they were, not just physically but in speech, disposition and mannerisms. It may have even been their own publicists.

They do have chemistry and are aware of it. Two actors on the spectrum will always have chemistry with each other.

Most likely they had a lot to say to each other. It was edited out because it was too boring. Two people on the spectrum talking to each other is the most boring thing to watch because they sort of begin talking on their own frequency.
