Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham is not taking his safety for granted! The singer has reportedly sought a restraining order against a woman he claimed had been stalking him and his loved ones.
Lindsey Buckingham claimed his stalker had been harassing and threatening the peace of him and his family since 2021.
The legend rushed to court pleading for a restraining order and protection from the woman identified as Michelle. According to the court document, Lindsey implored the court to order Michelle to stay 100 yards away from him, his home, or any place he may be.
He also asked that the order be extended to his wife, Kristen Buckingham, and his son, William Buckingham. The singer claimed that Michelle had left voice messages on his son's phone with threats to kill him and his family.
"She is a stalker who has been harassing me and my family," he noted in the petition. According to In Touch, he also added to the declaration:
"I am very fearful that Michelle … without restraining, will continue this conduct which continues to make me and my family fear for our safety and peace."
Lindsey expressed his concerns that her "conduct may escalate into something physically dangerous to me and my family."
Lindsey explained in the petition that Michelle called 911 with a false story on November 3. According to the stalker, his son was about to harm himself.
He claimed Michelle told police that a gun had been fired in his home, causing officers to rush over to the house and handcuff Lindsey when he opened the door.
The police reportedly searched for evidence but eventually, let the singer go after realizing the caller merely blew a false alarm.
Following the false call, an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department promptly filed a declaration noting she had been assigned to investigate the harassment of the singer and his family.
The detective confirmed that LAPD has had encounters with Michelle since September 18 "when the suspect placed a paper taped to Lindsey and Kristen Buckingham's residence with photographs of herself."
The cops continued that the stalker believed Lindsey was her father, hence the reason she has been keeping tabs on him. On September 19, a security guard informed the police that Michelle's car was parked outside their home.
Upon the police's arrival, Michelle was detained and questioned. She then told the cops she was the vocalist's daughter. The police warned Michelle to leave the property and never return. Kristen then updated the cops in September about Michelle's "history of harassment."
She reportedly told the detective that her son had been receiving "concerning" voice messages on his cell for a year. The detective said she spoke to Michelle via the phone, and Michelle admitted to calling 911 and reporting the false shooting incident.
The detective informed Michelle of possible charges if she refused to stop harassing the singer's family. She also claimed the stalker may be "mentally unstable and dangerous" and advised the court to grant Lindsey's restraining order request.
