In my day growing up in the 90s being gay still felt like a shameful thing. It took me a couple of decades to even be sort of okay with being open about myself, and I still don’t talk about it at work. From what I’ve seen, many younger gays seem to just sashay around like it’s nothing, but I’m sure some still have issues with it.
Does the young generation of gays these days still have trouble coming out?

You should probably ask this question on a message board where the majority of gay guys are under 25, instead of over 65.

No, they don’t. However, they suffer from poor grammar and the inability to write a coherent sentence, just like you.

The gay celebrities certainly still have trouble coming out, OP. Every year we make an annual DL thread hoping that a bunch of gay celebrities will come out and each year at the end very few of them have.

If you're not an attention whore, it must at least be annoying to have to announce your sexuality to people with a drumroll. Straight kids don't have to do this; and face it, it takes a lot of people a while to be sure.

No, they're not afraid to come out, it's just that by dint of their hair, clothing, nails, voices and annoyance level, there is barely anyone to come out to!
The young generation of gays has trouble answering the phone when it rings. That terrifies them.

Speaking on the phone is so 20th century.

I asked my therapist this question since he deals with them.
He said, "to their parents? Some do - depending on the parents but mostly, they're fine." He was careful to point out that super religious families still have issues.
He then added that for many families, sometimes their kids are just gay and sometimes they aren't. The same applies at school. It's not a big deal. It's like anything else. They don't have to come out. They just show up at home with a girlfriend or boyfriend and talk about it openly.
My personal opinion is that when gays became a part of mainstream television from comedies, to prime time shows, to talk shows like Ellen, to even soap operas - it became less of a shock for many people as they grew up with it somewhere in their lives.

Extraordinarily accurate.

These days, 90% of the people who call you on the phone are people you don’t want to talk to.

Today, all you have to do is announce you're queer and you're one of the young cool kids. If you announce you're gay it means you may actually have sex.

Well, op, I think they all call themselves trans today

Yes, r10.
If "gays" refuse to admit they're "trans" they can't be stunning and brave!
