CNN: Trump having dinner with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at Mar-a-Lago

Trudeau has to show up. Trump is threatening tariffs, and the US and Canada are each other’s prime trading partners. A trade war would fuck up both our economies, but Canada’s even more so. We need to hope that the tariff situation gets resolved before it becomes a crisis.

Yeah, as R6 says, Trudeau is meeting Trump because both Liberal & Conservative provincial leaders in Canada have expressed fears over Trump's threats to Canada's economy. Trudeau is trying to smooth over the waters and keep a decent working relationship with Trump so that Trump won't unleash more damage.
