Get Over Shitting on Kamala
She did better than what would have happened under Biden still running, or any other "compromise" candidate. Because of her, the Republican majority in the House has shrunk to a 2-seat majority, several Dem Senate incumbents that would have otherwise lost actually won, and she still kept the Orange Baboon from a majority in the popular vote.
Considering the headwinds against her, she did a phenomenal job. She connected with voters who were ambivalent about voting before she became the candidate. She made inroads with educated voters, an important voting bloc with consistent turnout. She had a lot of good policy ideas that Dems can incorporate (increase tax breaks for small businesses, tax credit for first-time homeowners) for future elections.

The Republicans won 220 and the Democrats 214, which means the Republicans will have a 6 seat majority.

Kamala left it on the field. She did the best she could. The Trump white supremacy cult is tough to defeat

r1, you misunderstood OP. A majority vote means that a candidate won over 50% of the popular vote. Donald Trump won less than 50% (slightly over 49 (about 49.5) to Harris (48%) . The rest of the votes went to candidates who were not Democrats or Republicans.

I think 3 reps are leaving the House due to Trump appointments. So until new elections are held in April, Republicans will have 217 and Dems 214. One seat has not been called yet. If a Dem gets it, then it’ll be 217 to 215. If one Repub is out sick or decides to flip, the House could be in turmoil until the 3 empty seats are filled.

215-220 will shrink to 215-217 when Shithead's cabinet picks leave Congress.

She lost.

Losing by a small margin is not the same as losing by a huge margin. Mondale lost by a huge margin. Carter, running for his second term as president, lost by a large margin. Dukakis lost by a significant margin. Those are all people who had 1-2 years to prep and execute a presidential campaign.
In comparison, Harris lost by a little over 1% of the popular vote. Incidentally, Trump lost the popular vote to Hillary Clinton by significantly more than Harris lost to him, but that made him irate and he complained for years about that. When he lost the popular vote AND the electoral college to Biden, he fomented an insurrection over the "Steal", and has convinced 50% of the electorate that all American presidential elections are rigged on ZERO evidence. I don't recall the Republican party SHITTING over him in either situation.

Not to say that her campaign didn't make mistakes (at the very least, they played too conservative and seemed to think that Not Being Trump was enough), but any candidate tethered to an unpopular president like Biden, yet unable to define themselves on their own terms without throwing Biden under the bus was going to fail. On another thread it was stated that Obama & Pelosi didn't want Harris & wanted throw it out to the other contenders, but being shrewd creatures that they are, would they have really wanted it, knowing the headwinds they'll face?

r14. I think you've misunderstood. I voted but didn't intend to reply or even read OP because I agree with the sentiment, move on.

No, but it seems sort of obvious since his lack of popularity is why Biden dropped out. Also, everyone I know who voted for Kamala was excited to do so. By comparison, their votes for Biden would have been cast begrudgingly.

Once I saw the emails asking for money after the election, I made sure to unsubscribe. She only fought when she was given permission.
