By January, this nonsense will be the new normal.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | November 27, 2024 4:17 PM |
Are these career people or schedule C political appointees?
Career people often see positions created and positions eliminated. Reorganizations maybe stressful but they are not uncommon.
The career people in those positions that are eliminated then bounce into another career position. They have protections.
The C folks have no job security, as is correct for a political employee, and are just let go.
It’s the positions they are after not the people currently in those positions.
And I would assume starting in the day after the election those strictly in climate jobs realized their number was coming up soon.

R2, well yes, they knew they were likely to lose their jobs, behind the scenes.
They did NOT expect their individual personal names to be hanging up on a sign in the "Elon Musk Town Square" known as Xitter.
The details are chilling.

From Bannon to Musk: The decade that made misinformation the new normal
The impact of the disinformation industry, the media crisis, and the political agendas of social networks has created a perfect storm in democracies, one that is eroding the relationship between citizens, information, and reality
by Anonymous | reply 17 | November 27, 2024 7:21 PM |
This obnoxious immigrant should be deported. Who elected him to run the government? He won't even have a role requiring confirmation, so why is Trump allowing him to run the show? It definitely makes Trump look like the second banana and Elon the pretend President.
I feel for anyone who is being targeted this way. It's completely inappropriate and will discourage qualified people from entering public service. I guess that's what Trump voters want. A bunch of unqualified people running the show.

by Anonymous | reply 23 | November 27, 2024 8:22 PM |
Musk should be cut for massive conflict of interest. No one elected him but as a private government contractor he bankrolled a candidate, thus putting someone in place who will boost his business.
Corruption on steroids and if not already, should be illegal. Americans are stupid for letting this happen.
Can you imagine if your mayor was under the thumb of a contractor for your local government along as being a major donor to the mayoral campaign? Frankly, it happens too frequently because the populace isn't paying attention.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | November 27, 2024 8:51 PM |
Can these PRIVATE citizens sue him for defamation or harassment?
Like Shay and Ruby sued the Ghoul?
They should. Drag him over the goals and hit him where it hurts - right in the bank account.
The doormats in Congress won’t do fuck all, so it looks like it up to US to drag these fuckers for filth.

Musk has the money to keep a civil suit going in perpetuity ... or at least until the plaintiffs run out of money.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | November 27, 2024 9:01 PM |

Well? All I heard back in 2015 from my SF friends was how MF *amazing* he is, and I hated him even THEN, it was so obvious he was a POS.
Are you all realizing yet that he’s actually returning to his family Nazi roots? His father admitted that the grandparents were IN the Nazi Party, and they moved to South Africa FOR the Apartheid. This is only the beginning. He plans to use all of the Nazi Third Reich tactics forever now because they work. Crushing, intimidating, terrorizing women is what gets him off.
And also, not only does he have a trans kid, but his ex-wife got plowed by a trans too. So killing off the trans movement is *personal* for Adolf. And hating women is personal because most of the smart, sexy women have made fun of him. He was bullied and abused his whole life, now this is his vengeance on us all. His personal vendetta is to destroy America.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | November 27, 2024 10:23 PM |
He should pay them unemployment out of his own pocket then.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | November 27, 2024 10:33 PM |
He won’t r32. The whole point is to be as cruel as possible so that future opponents are too terrified of him to speak out. It’s working for him, why stop now? We loooooooved capitalism, and this is just capitalism at its highest iteration. He is THE personification of all that our culture worships. We got exactly the country that we deserve, and that includes terrorism.
I hate this fucking country now. We can wallow in this misery, I’m too broken to feel like it any more. Hope is lost. America is dead, God is dead, DL is dead, all of the social justice movements we’ve fought for are DEAD and buried. This sets the course for the globe for the next 100 years. Elon will likely blow us all up the way he loves to blow up his fucking rockets.
Sorry, not sorry. Big Kid talk, not going to sugar-coat it.

R39? The US Justice system died 11/5/24. The funeral is in January. America is dead now. The inmates are running the asylum and looting the coffers, and while they do that, they’re going to practice terrorism on our population to control them and quell opposition/resistance.
I’m still surprised how uninformed most are on what’s happening. They plan to put millions into camps, and then use them as slave labor to pick our strawberries. So some are going home, but many are not, they’ll just be our slaves. And who is going to stop it now? I’ll tell you know — no one. Because the Five Eyes secrets will now be shared with enemies, America is a threat, so we may be completely on our own, Europe and Canada I’m not sure are able to help as they’re battling it too.
And r39, he’s already proven he’s above the law throughout the election. No one stopped him. Some tried, but barely. Merrick just sits in his office looking at golf magazines and looking at pics of his grandkids while listening to classical music. Anything but prosecuting power, wealthy criminals.

Are the regulars on Twitter still making excuses for Garland? I am no longer on that platform. They were a pathetic bunch. He doesn't care about this guy threatening those women and more, in the future. If he did, things would be very different, wouldn't they?

R62, I agree.
He’s behaving how an addict in active addiction behaves. He cannot see it, because the self awareness he has, & believes is now heightened, cannot genuinely connect to other human beings.
He’s behaving like an addicted mad man, & he is in for a horrific come down that happens to all of us who have been afflicted with addiction.
He isn’t happy. Happy people do not do the shit he’s doing. Threatening federal employees on Twitter while revealing their names is not something a well adjusted, genuinely happy person does. It’s what an angry, fearful person does.
Looks like the Ketamine ain’t working.

R67 Evil succeeds when we have craven and corrupt elected officials that give a pass to their cronies and instead prosecute their adversaries. The norms and policies and even the laws have been in steady decline since the Reagan years. The Iran Contra fiasco violated so many constitutional laws and yet Reagan and Oliver North got away with it. You keep chipping away at established norms and justice at some point it becomes almost meaningless. Hillary Clinton was endlessly investigated because some of her emails were on an unsecured server , but it becomes accepted for Trump to steal hundred of top secret government files and refuse to give it back? I knew that if Trump was not prosecuted in a timely manner that there was a good likelihood he would get elected again and his crimes will not only go unpunished, but his second term will destroy our constitution.
