God I hate celebrities. You got your cooch out onscreen a hundred years ago, no one appointed you liberal mouthpiece.
Sadly, her arrogance and false sense of superiority are not unusual.

But Americans travel a lot. We are just a vastly overpopulated, bloviated nation. It’ been said for some time but it’s truer that ever— there are two Americas. I just hope and pray that black people in the Midwest and the South don’t further get indoctrinated by online misinformation.

With the Sharon Stone America falsely believing it is superior to the other America.

She's right.

She is right. What is wrong with you people?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | November 26, 2024 9:03 PM |
She grew up in a deplorable area of Pennsylvania. She’s right that the majority of people there don’t travel and are uneducated.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | November 26, 2024 9:09 PM |
Her voice now sounds like that of an old lady. When did that happen? Next up she’ll want to do Mame.
And her rhetoric sounds preposterous. Italy has elected its own leader who is perhaps further to the right than Trump.
Perhaps she needs to see that many voters are now actively rebelling against limousine liberal talking points and that we are all in a new political environment where celebrity endorsements appear to hinder rather than help a candidate.

Looking down on Americans who don’t have the resources to travel internationally or obtain an expensive education isn’t the Democratic Party I grew up with.
Furthermore
Americans are in this situation because of the very people she says represents the “enlightened” side
The cosmopolitan, educated, worldly international traveler
that is

People who believe that the Vice President controls the price of eggs ARE uneducated.

by Anonymous | reply 10 | November 26, 2024 9:22 PM |
Talk all the shit you want about her, but she’s not wrong.
Also? She’s allegedly really intelligent. Many people who are highly intelligent have some sort of quirk or eccentricity.
AND, in her prime, she was a total knockout. A natural, without any plastic surgery. A 10. No question. Most of you fuckers here cannot claim that.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | November 26, 2024 9:25 PM |
She was not only a ten, she was probably an 11. Just shots of her face alone took my breath away during Basic Instinct.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | November 26, 2024 9:33 PM |
Truth hurts, doesn't it MAGAts?
You're not the super-human, superior beings you've been brainwashed to believe you are. You are "Idiocracy" writ large.

Yeah young Sharon Stone was beautiful.

She’s basically rearranging Titanic lounge chairs so it really doesn’t make much difference-we’re sunk.

Sharon Stone and people of her ilk need to be disabused of their belief that they are superior to the people they criticize.

by Anonymous | reply 21 | November 26, 2024 11:19 PM |
R20 and his ilk need to be disabused of their belief that they have a monopoly on patriotism and that the magic sky fairy smiles down upon them because they pay lip service to Christianity.

She’s right but also maybe not the best person to deliver the message.
One of my frustrations with being left-wing is that, even though the mega-rich overwhelmingly support Trump and Dems are clearly the more pro-working class party, it’s easy for Republicans to act like the opposite is true. They may have more mega-rich people on their side, but we have most of the rich people who exist within the public eye.
Makes for a very misleading perception of which party is more the party of the elites.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | November 27, 2024 2:08 AM |
I agree with Sharon. Trump voters are a bunch of uneducated trailer trash people.

Her sense of superiority is not false. She IS better than morons who voted for Trump.

by Anonymous | reply 29 | November 27, 2024 10:11 AM |
She's right.
Indelicately stated, maybe. But absolutely right.
You think that it was educated, intelligent, informed, well travelled people who voted for Trump?
It was greedy me-first scumbags (with and without the above advantages) who think they would be richer if they had no government and no taxes to pay. The ones who bristle that a household with three-quarters of a million dollars in earnings (after deductions) is taxed at 37%, all of 15% more than those losers making just under 100,000 per household.

I thought we weren’t supposed to travel because flying causes global warming and too many tourists are bad. But I don’t have a degree from Edinboro University, so what do I know?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | November 27, 2024 11:42 AM |
I’m not saying Sharon isn’t right, but there are better ways to approach this, and the condescending, tone deaf delivery is only drives another nail in the coffin. The celebrity culture and Hollywood that Sharon came up in is long dead and in an advanced state of decay right now. It’s over. Rotting. People don’t want to be told what to think by celebrities anymore. Unfortunately, most boomers like Sharon are too self-involved and stuck in their ways to notice such things.

Camille Paglia is a nut but she was absolutely right about Sharon being hot. She really had the femme fatale thing nailed down.

Sharon Stone is EXACTLY right. When people don't travel, they get suckered in by "America is the greatest country" BS
by Anonymous | reply 35 | November 27, 2024 2:02 PM |
R30, I wonder if these dumb fuck Republicans will get rid of the SALT cap because there's lots of people in MI, PA, GA and WI as well as WA, CA, NY, NJ, CT and CO that it pushes into a higher tax bracket. It was done to punish Blue states and to ease the tax burden on corporations and the ultra-rich. People need to know that so they can properly attribute their increase in federal tax liability to Trump and his minions.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | November 27, 2024 2:12 PM |
I wonder what Kevin Costner thinks of this.

The only way to get a good public education today is to be born into an affluent family living among other affluent families with an excellent school system supported by local property taxes and parents who will vote in improvements to school budgets. The other option is private education.
I taught in an urban system, later one in a working/lower middle class township, then in a very affluent suburb. All in New Jersey and in the same county. The differences in staff, services and environment, curricula and enrichment were shocking. Parents with means demand and ensure that the schools their children attend provide quality education.
I read recently that half of Americans read at a sixth grade level or lower. Having taught sixth graders, I think that is too generous.

She was the first big celebrity to open her mouth about the impending COVID lockdown, saying it was an opportunity to "take cooking lessons". She likes to believe she is an expert in politics as she is in medical matters, in reality, she is a big mess who probably needs her nappy cleaning out for her at the end of the day.
