Another interview where no real questions are asked. Every interview he does is the same exact questions. I assume CAA only allows those questions because literally every interview is the same exact questions with never ending fawning from the interviewer.

I saw someone from Mexico in a comment section say they find it weird Men’s Health Mexico didn’t even ask Chavez about him being half Mexican. His Mexican roots from his dad’s side are never acknowledged, even by a Mexican publication. That feels strange.

When Selena (the singer) was up and coming, she tried very hard to IMPRESS the Mexican media with her Mexican background, as well as trying to speak Spanish because she wanted to gain their acceptance.

This sounds like the complete opposite.

R17 I saw someone say “his surname is Chavez. Chavez is a surname that typically links to Mexico. It’s self-explanatory” but not to most. He’s always labeled as simply a “white boy” by fans and media, like he’s Anglo. That’s all to sell him further. Despite what he looks like, there are still people (even in Hollywood) who will not cast someone for certain roles who associates with being Latino etc, even if they’re white latino. I always get the impression his agency doesn’t allow it acknowledged. And based on some of his fans, if you label him a POC, they get rabid. Makes me think they can’t handle the idea he is a POC and not just “white”, as if it would change their perception of him.

Even in his Bustle interview when he acknowledges he’s doing Duolingo and learning Spanish, I was wondering why he didn’t acknowledge he wants to learn Spanish because of his fathers side and wanting to connect with his Latino background, just ignored it. It’s his free will to do but I just find it interesting how a Mexican publication didn’t acknowledge that about him. They usually do.

I’m not r19 but I kinda agree that it’s becoming too much. Every time you look he has a new article, a new interview, new photos, and if he doesn’t have new professional pics he’s suddenly photographed out and about by fans. His name is associated heavily with social media and I think that will backfire on him in the long run, as far as acting goes. He’s starting to feel like a social media influencer more than a professional actor.

I think he’s only overexposed if you follow these breathless threads about him on here. He’s still a new name to most people.

R22 you must not be on social media. It’s a lot. People seem truly obsessed with him. I saw one girl made a shrine to him and was reading comments and some girls admit they even lose sleep because they don’t have him. It’s scary. This is why I don’t understand why he walks around so openly. Some people seem scarily obsessed with him.
