She officially went solo in 1970 and so this 1969 must have been an early trial run. I think Diana did turn into a great life performer by mid career. I was often surprised by the quality of voice, long before autotune and she wasn't on playback. Also she got much warmer in contact as she aged. More frank and with a good contact with the audience.

Yeah this was a solo appearance without the Supremes whom she was still with at the time. This number from the special is among the campiest televised solo numbers I’ve ever seen Diana do.
