The Hypocrisy of Anti-Celebrity Culture Voting In Celebrities
Since the election, I’ve noticed a surge in articles and videos claiming that celebrity culture is over and that celebrities should stay out of politics.
Ironically, many in the anti-celebrity, anti-Oscar crowd voted for a reality TV star who’s been famous since the 1980s and regard a Hollywood actor as one of the best Presidents in history.
If Americans are willing to vote celebrities into the highest positions of power, why would they expect celebrities to stop engaging in politics?

The average MAGA person— This is how things are except for when they aren’t.

I'm confident that Republicans would love for Democrats to continue to party with celebrities on the campaign trail.

The reason why Kamala brought all them celebs because they were throwing things at the wall. Those internals had to be damaging. But nothing would stick. This administration simply could not have been re-elected. Dump talked about people eating cats and dogs and nothing would stick. Just nothing.

Without reading the articles (too burned out), I'm guessing the gist of them are that celebrity endorsements annoy people and they don't really help Democrats win, so it isn't about celebrities staying out of politic... just the public endorsements, which aren't useful.

Hillary also did an election eve party in Philadelphia with celebrities, and we know that didn't work. It didn't make sense for Kamala to do the same thing. She would have done better slinging burgers at Burger King and singing their jingle.

Except for the die-hard fans, most people don't care about a celeb's personal life nor political opinions.
They just want to be entertained by them via music/films/TV and it ruins the illusion otherwise.
It's like when they warn you never to meet your idols, same thing here.
The ballot is supposed to be a secret vote, anyway, when did people get so public about it?
I think celebs can influence people to purchase certain products, but not who to vote.
Stay in your lane, unless you're running for office.

Maybe it's not all or nothing. In other words, Kamala probably got a boost from all the clelb endorsements, but just not that extra 2% she needed with disengaged undecided voters. People like people who they identify with. So while everyone says they are not influenced by Celeb picking a side, there is a subconscious thing going on that I think some polling must indicate it's worth adding another 1 or 2 points to the overall numbers.

R6 yea but Hill did it more so to ensure voter turnout in Philadelphia. The last 2 weeks of Harris’ campaign was non stop celebrity endorsements and A listers at campaign rally’s or mini concerts. I love Kamala but I knew something was up. I know elections tend to be sum zero events. I actually don’t think the celebs hurt her. I think they actually propelled voter turnout of the base in swing states. Trump is a different beast and non one from this administration would have beat him. The writing was on the wall all summer. I deluded myself because I just wanted this black woman to succeed and make history.

Exactly. Trump is a celebrity. Republicans didn't seem to have a problem with Kid Rock, Billy Ray Cyrus and others who came out to support Trump.
If Swift and others had endorsed Trump, we all know MAGA would be PRAISING them as Gods.

Do you really not see the difference between the two sets?
