All you hysterical queens need to get a grip re Trump!!

These endless 24/7 threads about Trump and politics are nauseating - even worse than a visit to my mother with her 8 - 12 hours a day of MSNBC. The endless hysterics are nauseating.

Yes, it sucks that we lost. Yes, it will be a horrible 4 years. However, let have a little reality check here. First, gays and trannies are not going to be "marched into the gas chambers" like it's 1942 Germany. If gays die during Trump's term, it will be for the same reason they always do - AIDS-related complications and drug overdoses. If "trans women of color" die during Trump's second term, it will be for the same reason they are dying now - prostitution related murders and living shady lives involving shady people. You all sounds as crazy as that trans woman Blossom screaming about trans women being hunted like deer.

Also, for the love of God, quit talking about your plans to leave the US. None of you assholes left during Trump's first term and you ain't leaving now. You know it, I know it, your drug dealer knows it. Get a grip!

This site used to be so much fun. Now it's Trump, Trump, Trump. Yes, he's a threat. Yes, he will cause damage to this country, but we will survive as we always do and we will carry on.

tl;dr

by Anonymousreply 1November 17, 2024 2:30 AM

Fuck off and die

by Anonymousreply 2November 17, 2024 2:31 AM

[quote]First, gays and trannies are not going to be "marched into the gas chambers" like it's 1942 Germany.

I've never seen even one post on Datalounge claiming this.

It sounds like [bold]YOU[/bold] are the hysterical one OP.

by Anonymousreply 3November 17, 2024 2:46 AM

R3 You haven’t seen this? It only shows up in every other thread.

by Anonymousreply 4November 17, 2024 2:48 AM

Da, all gay Americans have the AIDS related complications. Iz true in 1985, iz true forever!

by Anonymousreply 5November 17, 2024 3:00 AM

No not even one time R4 - and I am highly active in the political threads.

What I have seen is a lot of unease and concern about the frequently announced and meticulously documented plans the Trump administration has to systematically remove all federal LGBT protections and anti-discrimination laws. The effects of removing these protections will be felt all across the country and will filter down to how gays will be treated by society by a group of people who will be even more emboldened and vastly outnumber LGBT people because we are a tiny minority and therefore an easy target with seemingly zero repercussions for cruelty, hatred and everything that comes with that.

The second thing I see the most discussed is the plans the Heritage Foundation (which is Project 2025) and the Christian right has to reverse gay marriage in an effort to return American to a country of "traditional family value". Now that the election is over, Republicans have admitted Project 2025 was the plan all along. A quick reminder that during Trump's first presidency he implemented 64% (or two thirds) of the Heritage Foundations policies in his first term.

And from the Heritage Foundation congratulating themselves about Trump implementing two thirds of their policies in his first term.

We can expect the same and much more this time because they are properly organized for his second presidency.

This means that gay people are on the chopping block and Dataloungers have every right to discuss that and understand what it means for us and how it will affect us OP.

R3 Jesus fucking Christ we get it already. Get a life. We are all grateful for your incessant worry as it is really helping to change things.

by Anonymousreply 8November 17, 2024 3:10 AM

Trump 2.0 is a clown show already. He picks clowns as well. This is not Hitler. He's going to do some nasty border stuff and I'm not sure even that he will be able to do right because the people he picks are incompetent.

Anyway, the constant political threads do get old. It's not like incessant worrying about it is going to change anything.

That being said, just start your own non-political threads, OP. No use in complaining about it either.

by Anonymousreply 9November 17, 2024 3:13 AM

It sounds like the MAGAt OP is having a hard time with nobody wanting to play with him.

He can get used to the loneliness.

by Anonymousreply 10November 17, 2024 3:14 AM

So don't read the fucking threads R8!

Not everybody wants to put their head in the sand and pretend that's everything's cool and normal. It isn't.

If it bothers you so much then [bold]don't read the fucking threads![/bold]

by Anonymousreply 11November 17, 2024 3:15 AM

We're talking about dangerous, demented Donald here. Don't underestimate his evil.

by Anonymousreply 12November 17, 2024 3:15 AM

How ancient is the OP that he still thinks gays are dying en masse from AIDS-related complications.

What a dumbass.

by Anonymousreply 13November 17, 2024 3:15 AM

I have a (midlife) trans acquaintance, who has always been completely bonkers, and true to form has made this all about the trans, meaning himself!

"Please everyone, check on on your trans friends! We're all terrified what's going to happen to us!"

Naturally, the whole election was about THEY/THEM! Whoever could have seen it coming?

by Anonymousreply 14November 17, 2024 3:17 AM

Trump is the guy who wanted US troops to shoot racial justice demonstrators and Milley told him NO.

by Anonymousreply 15November 17, 2024 3:24 AM

R14 They always make everything about them. Why do you think the gays love them so much?

by Anonymousreply 16November 17, 2024 3:30 AM

I'm thinking that Trump should've just won in 2020 so we'd be rid of him now, instead of having to endure him for another four years.

by Anonymousreply 17November 17, 2024 3:31 AM

I hope Trump dies in office and the MAGAts end up with charisma vacuum, JD Vance.

by Anonymousreply 18November 17, 2024 3:33 AM

OP makes some good points - but gurl, don’t get full of yourself.

Liberals are seriously drunk on over dramatising this loss. Partly because it was overdramatised during the campaign itself. No, it’s not going to be great. But there are guard rails, chiefly the glaring limitations of these people themselves. Then, as we’re already seeing, the party itself, and the system itself.

But WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE are doom spiralling, just handing everything over to Trump, more like being like - “take this! take it from me!” PEOPLE, one of the key tenets of fighting authoritarianism is DO NOT OBEY IN ADVANCE. Liberals are SO self-dramatising it’s like they’re willing it into existence. It’s two years, ONLY TWO YEARS, until the midterms. Pull yourselves together, bitches.

No surprise, 53% of self-described “uninformed voters”, people who pay zero attention to the news, voted for Trump, who won by less than 1.5% of the vote. I know you bitches rehearsed for a Mussolini type take over but this ain’t it.

Yeah, it’s going to suck but you have to let it happen, respond to it proportionally in real time. Not respond to your worst nightmare from the get-go.

We can cause enough delays from the outset to eat up two years of time. So STOP saying the rule of law doesn’t apply to this ADMINISTRATION. And STOP saying they’re aren’t going to be anymore elections - I hate that. It’s completely obeying in advance. It’s weak.

You bitches were wrong about everything else - at least allow that you’re wrong about the scale of this. Make them fight for it if they want it. Don’t just have it over pre-emptively.

And cool the outrage. All it does is fuel MAGA. We want to starve these people of oxygen not give them the satisfaction they crave. It’s going to be a shit show but it’s THEIR shit show. Let them own it. And our representatives will push back and resist along the way. We can slow this down. And the wannabe authoritarians are already their own worst enemies. They’re going to get people’s attention - for all the wrong reasons.

Consider a different tactic. It’s early days. You bitches are going to cause serious harm to yourselves and others if you keep this up.

Whomever prematurely declared the end of democracy and the death of our country was wrong. It’s nowhere near over yet.

Snap out of it!

by Anonymousreply 19November 17, 2024 3:42 AM

Exactly, R17. I’m also thinking if Biden had been permitted to stay in it, it would’ve been an election between two old guys and he might’ve won it.

by Anonymousreply 20November 17, 2024 3:48 AM

People are addicted to be outraged. Its also like some people here can't wait to be abused, victimized, throttled by the Trump administration - like they're dreaming about it.

by Anonymousreply 21November 17, 2024 3:50 AM

Not just here, R21. It’s like a collective mania.

by Anonymousreply 22November 17, 2024 3:55 AM

Blame the angry college students who sat out this election year in protest. Likely because of Gaza.

Here's a map of Washtenaw County, home to the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University. Zoom in on the downtown Ann Arbor area and Eastern Michigan University in Ypsi. Notice anything?

Spoiler alert: The red areas show precincts with less than 50% voter turnout. One of the most elite college institutions in the country that isn't an Ivy League (U of M) and those kids stayed their disgruntled asses at home and didn't vote. But at least "tHEiR vOiCEs wErE hEArd!"

by Anonymousreply 23November 17, 2024 4:03 AM

No my dear, R23. That's not how logic works. I would rather blame the fully grown adults who actually did vote for Trump. What's their excuse?

by Anonymousreply 24November 17, 2024 4:04 AM

R24 The Trump voters do what they do because they’re idiots. But imagine throwing your vote away over a worthless group of people half a world away who caused their own situation and deserve every bit of what they’re getting. That is stupidity!

by Anonymousreply 25November 17, 2024 4:09 AM

[quote] [R24] The Trump voters do what they do because they’re idiots.

That is NOT an excuse.

As a matter of fact I would say that idiotic Gen Z has a far better excuse because they're brains are not yet fully formed.

What is the excuse of adults who've had decades of experience and claim to have such infinite wisdom?

by Anonymousreply 26November 17, 2024 4:11 AM

"their brains" not they're

by Anonymousreply 27November 17, 2024 4:12 AM

R26 Do you know what the word idiot means? You just said that being an idiot is not an excuse to do idiotic things. Idiots do stupid things because they’re stupid. You understand this, right?

by Anonymousreply 28November 17, 2024 4:14 AM

R28 Gen Z is being idiotic because they are in PEAK idiot young people stage in their teens and early 20s. It's really not that difficult.

What is the excuse of people in their 50s and 60s to be even bigger idiots? Especially when they have had DECADES of life experience?

by Anonymousreply 29November 17, 2024 4:15 AM

R29 They love Trump for the exact same reason DL queens are obsessed with hating him and obsessing over doomsday scenarios. Echo chambers.

by Anonymousreply 30November 17, 2024 4:17 AM

r29 Sir/ma'am, these "idiotic" kids got into the University of fucking Michigan. They're fully cognizant of what sitting out of this election, in a fucking swing state, meant. They simply didn't care.

by Anonymousreply 31November 17, 2024 4:18 AM

I don't give a flying RAT's ASS about the fickle little children, R31!!!! It's the adults I'm far more worried about!

by Anonymousreply 32November 17, 2024 4:19 AM

r32 Not to be morbid, but the adults you're worried about will be dying soon. The children are our future. Teach them well and...let them lead the way.

by Anonymousreply 33November 17, 2024 4:22 AM

No dear, R33. The adults I'm worried about are NOT dying soon. I'm more concerned about Americans in their 50s and 60s than the ones in their 70s and 80s.

by Anonymousreply 34November 17, 2024 4:24 AM

R34 perhaps you could seek them out in real life and ask them yourself. God knows they ain’t here.

by Anonymousreply 35November 17, 2024 4:26 AM

When a clown enters a palace, he does not become king. The palace becomes a circus.

by Anonymousreply 36November 17, 2024 4:27 AM

R35 oh really? There are no posters here in their 50s and 60s, huh?

by Anonymousreply 37November 17, 2024 4:28 AM

R37 Yeah but they aren’t Trump supporters. Lord are you dense.

by Anonymousreply 38November 17, 2024 4:29 AM

R38 your post was very stupidly and confusingly written. Maybe aim for some clarity next time?

by Anonymousreply 39November 17, 2024 4:30 AM

R39 you couldn’t follow that?

by Anonymousreply 40November 17, 2024 4:35 AM

No, I'm sorry, R40, I couldn't follow the logic of someone who thinks 50 and 60 year olds are dying soon.

by Anonymousreply 41November 17, 2024 4:41 AM

[quote]Snap out of it!

r19 is Loretta Castorini. Hi Loretta!

by Anonymousreply 42November 17, 2024 4:55 AM

I think Biden would have gone down in a Dukakis-level rout.

by Anonymousreply 43November 17, 2024 5:32 AM

OP is right about their talk of leaving the country being hot air. I was on that other thread and their plans to leave did not seem solid.

by Anonymousreply 44November 17, 2024 2:06 PM

That’s some good horse sense, R19. It does seem as though a lot of anti-Trumpers are handing Mango and his evil cabal some serious and real psychological advantages in projecting a defeatist, Chicken Little-style outlook.

by Anonymousreply 45November 19, 2024 3:25 PM

OP is right about some things. I was over on the "OK, so who's leaving the U.S.? Gathering collective wisdom here!" thread. Most of the people there are totally unrealistic.

by Anonymousreply 46November 19, 2024 4:31 PM

I've tried to give people grace because they were upset about the election, but some have just gone over the top. Trump about to become President again is not a good thing, but some of the doom and gloom scenarios are too much. Take a deep breath, go outside and play with your dog, turn off the news. We got through it before and we'll get through it again.

by Anonymousreply 47November 19, 2024 4:39 PM

[quote]All you hysterical queens need to get a grip re Trump!

If you think I'm gonna jerk off over that bloated persimmon, you're even nuttier than he is.
