Host & Musical Guest: Charli XCX
Elon and Matt Gaetz: Alien vs Predator LOL. Oh, God. Sarah playing Gaetz (good!) Alec Baldwin playing RFK Jr.

This guy’s Trump is always so spot-on great.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | November 17, 2024 3:36 AM |
She's quite funny. Not Ariana Grande grade funny, but well done.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | November 17, 2024 3:43 AM |
Haven't they done this Domingo sketch before?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | November 17, 2024 3:51 AM |
Bad Bunny in English? :
“No.”
😛
by Anonymous | reply 5 | November 17, 2024 3:56 AM |
Yes, R4. The last sketch was the wedding.
Did they announce Paul Mescal on 12/7. They're off until 12/7?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | November 17, 2024 3:58 AM |
Everything wrong with modern SNL can be summed up in that Wicked audition sketch. These have always been my favorite kinds of sketches because they allow the cast to showcase their best impressions, which don’t always fit into the rest of the show. But with this one, there wasn’t a single strong impression. Some, like Fineman’s Martha Stewart, were pale imitations of past cast members’ far superior versions. It was just one weak-to-middling impersonation after another. Nothing elevated.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | November 17, 2024 3:58 AM |
Well, R7, in fairness to Fineman, I think she's doing the current botoxed and filler version of Martha. She seemed to prioritize lip injections and frozen face over voice. I agree with everything else you wrote.
Is Kyle Mooney trying to weasel his way back into a job? I've noticed they're still using Dana and Andy as if they were regulars.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | November 17, 2024 4:04 AM |
It is weird how they now have these lingering former cast members. Also, has Samberg had some sort of facial surgery? He looks different to me.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | November 17, 2024 4:07 AM |
I cannot explain it but i find Andy Samberg so fucking sexy it may be a fetish.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | November 17, 2024 4:07 AM |
R10 I'm with you.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | November 17, 2024 4:11 AM |
Technical error. Green Screen. Lip Synching. yawn.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | November 17, 2024 4:15 AM |
Who was the half-naked woman who just introduced Charli? Put some clothes on it's November for goodness' sake.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | November 17, 2024 4:16 AM |
Now the show is pressing the (obviously) fake audience-reactions-and applause-sweetening pedal on its musical acts’ spots, too? 🙄 Ok.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | November 17, 2024 4:19 AM |
[bold]OUCH![/BOLD]
by Anonymous | reply 15 | November 17, 2024 4:21 AM |
Very good Update.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | November 17, 2024 4:22 AM |
Why couldn’t the fake tiger arm have successfully pulled this one-note untalented twit off the news desk and shredded him?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | November 17, 2024 4:27 AM |
Jeezus, she sucks. 🐿️

The Epstein line was killer.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | November 17, 2024 4:33 AM |
That commercial acting sketch went on way too long.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | November 17, 2024 4:41 AM |
Host is a good sport and funny in the sketches.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | November 17, 2024 4:42 AM |
Jane Wickline is a tiktoker...She is bland in everything she does on SNL.. If they wanted a funny lesbian they should have kept Punky. And SNL prettied her up cause her acne and teeth aren't that great in her social media videos.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | November 17, 2024 4:50 AM |
Dana Carvey does President Biden's walk/shuffling to perfection. The legs look like they're about to give out just like in real life!
by Anonymous | reply 23 | November 17, 2024 4:52 AM |
This has to be the worst musical guest ever - WTF is going on!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 24 | November 17, 2024 4:54 AM |
Jane’s an example of Lorne’s losing his ability to know who to cast. Hiring not only necessary combo of comic ability and charismatic personality, but on politically correct categories box-checking. Couldn’t even finish watching tonight—I’m binge-watching Maya as Donatella Versace old skits on YouTube.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | November 17, 2024 5:04 AM |
Mikey Day was standing way in the back for the goodbye but was he in any sketches tonight? Imagine having to travel all the way into the studio just for that.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | November 17, 2024 5:07 AM |
What did Baldwin do? He looked old, fat and disoriented at the end.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | November 17, 2024 5:10 AM |
Mikey might have been in one of the "cut for time" sketches.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | November 17, 2024 5:12 AM |
R27, he played RFK Jr. in the cold open.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | November 17, 2024 5:13 AM |
I’m kind of done with Marcelo.
Sorry, but he’s one note. All he can play is a screaming Latino douchebro.
Plus, he’s getting fat.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | November 17, 2024 2:06 PM |
Name me a current cast member who isn’t one note. Lorne used to say he wanted “enlightened amateurs” in the cast, but recent years seem to mean much more into the second part of that equation
by Anonymous | reply 31 | November 17, 2024 4:02 PM |
R26 R28 Mikey Day is also a longtime staff writer.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | November 17, 2024 5:34 PM |
Did everyone notice Alec's fully down zipper at the goodbyes?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | November 17, 2024 6:28 PM |
Baldwin didn’t work as RFK Jr. because he looked too much like himself. All he did was sound raspy. I did like Sarah Sherman as Matt Gaetz.
Jane Wickline seems the same spin every sketch. Dressing like a child, slouching shoulders and a godawful hairstyle doher no favours. I get it. You’re not heterosexual.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | November 17, 2024 7:15 PM |
“Seems the same…”
“Do her no favours”

She's no Molly Kearney!

They seem to be pushing the new female cast member Ashley Padilla front and center. She resembles a young slender Trisha Yearwood, yet she seems to emulate and base her schtick on Kristin Wiig's persona.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | November 17, 2024 8:04 PM |
I liked the song in the Andy Samberg video - was it a Charlie Puth parody?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | November 17, 2024 8:25 PM |
Did they forget that Kyle Mooney no longer works on the show?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | November 17, 2024 8:26 PM |
I think Charli forgot to mention him at the end of the show, R39. Standing right next her and still forgotten. Now that's charisma!
by Anonymous | reply 40 | November 17, 2024 8:28 PM |
An accurate indicator of old age is not knowing anything about 3 SNL hosts in a row.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | November 17, 2024 8:58 PM |
She was good on this show. And Adam Samberg really delivered in his musical short.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | November 18, 2024 9:56 PM |
R9 Samberg is starting to have Matthew Modine's former middle aged face.
Despite (or maybe including) his little paunch Samberg is super sexy.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | November 18, 2024 10:01 PM |
I think they’re leaning heavy on former cast members popping up as a 50th season celebration.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | November 18, 2024 10:18 PM |
I wish they’d invite former cast members back all season long to host the show.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | November 19, 2024 12:16 AM |
Julia Fox, R13
by Anonymous | reply 47 | November 19, 2024 1:20 AM |
Thank you, R47. Now my next question is WHY? lol.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | November 19, 2024 1:30 AM |
Baldwin had just come from Michael Longfellow's dressing room.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | November 19, 2024 1:54 AM |
I'm not crazy about Charli XCX as a singer, but she was surprisingly funny in the comedy sketches.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | November 19, 2024 2:31 PM |
I was surprised the louche effectiveness of her dance moves. She's actually much more likeable then I had imagined just form video clips here or there. Quite funny and on the ball.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | November 19, 2024 2:33 PM |
I’ve been watching the show since the beginning. I was 10 when it premiered in 1975.
I’m at the point where I don’t know half the hosts or musical guests. The woman from last Saturday I didn’t know, but I’ve heard the word “brat” being referenced in the past year. I take it she started that. I still enjoy the show, but I wish I liked more of the musical guests. The majority of today’s music is utter garbage.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | November 19, 2024 10:25 PM |
R52 The early days of SNL used to feature obscure and unique musical guests who weren't well known.
SNL is where I first saw Leon Redbone, Devo, and The B52s, all before they became mainstream successes.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | November 19, 2024 10:41 PM |
Point taken, R52. I just don’t like today’s music I guess. The occasional popular song I enjoy though.
