My god this movie was a slog.

Really quite dull but THANK GOD for Denzel because he brought all of his scenes to life. The gay kiss wasn't really required as it's made clear the character enjoys cock now and then. Not really award worthy considering what else he's done but he steals every scene without going overboard. I think it's fair to call him the Male Meryl.

But there rest was just boring. Mescal was deathly dull. Pascal deathly dull. Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) and Fred Hechinger (White Lotus) as the evil emperors were just awful. That's 4 actors best known for TV, with no breakthrough movie performances.

As for the Palestinian actress being erased I have no idea what her role would have been but other than Connie Nielsen there was no female speaking roles in the film. If there was a character with a big role filmed and then edited out then all credit to the film editor because you would never have known.

Of course this is The Guardian, the joke of a far-Left rag for decades.
