He was very eye catching in Starship Troopers but then had nothing to follow it up. Tarzan was a flop, he had a small part in Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow and then he did that awful TV show with the coked up girl and John Barrowman. I think Victoria Principal played his mother?

I tried to watch the James Dean film he did but it was not very good.

CVD did not have these type of eyes. He has normal eyes. If he has normal eyes, he would need considerable acting skill or charisma to make up for the lack of onscreen presence, which he did not have.

My brother loved Starship Troopers and we owned the DVD when I was a teenager. I hated the movie, but I did jerk off to it precisely for the scene at R9. Stupidly gorgeous. Not a great actor.

I was always a fan because he was on OLTL. I thought he was one of those hot soap actors who would go onto have a great movie career like OLTL ALIM Ryan Phillips. But Casper never really learned his craft. I don’t think he’s untalented although he probably has a limited range; but he should have stayed innNYC for a couple years to study his craft. In the end, I don’t think he has any particular passion for acting beyond the Hollywood perks.

I can tell you what happened: He went on one of the late night talk shows and when asked about the extras in Tarzan, he made fun of the muscle boys as all gay and flopped his wrists around and generally came across as wildly homophobic. If you're a genuine star you could probably get away with that. CVD was not a star. He was just a weird jerk, and few people wanted to work with him again.

As for CVD's career, we should remember that success in show business is very much a matter of luck. For every handsome man of very limited talent who becomes a genuine star (Tom Cruise, Kevin Costner, Keanu Reeves, Ben Affleck, Channing Tatum, Ashton Kutcher), there are hundreds of gorgeous men who do everything right and yet, never manage to rise from B, C or D list status. Just as there are thousands of handsome men who try to break into show business, only to end up doing community theater, joining the Chippendales, escorting or being "fitness influencers" and "models" who travel to Dubai several times a year, to do "networking" for their "business".

As it is, the likes of Casper Van Dien, Chris Carmack, Ryan Philippe, Trevor Donovan and the likes, ought to thank their lucky stars they have had the middling acting careers and are not having to suck rich fundamentalist Arab cock for a living, for much less money.
