"Chivalry" (a deeply romantic idea) is something that works only if the person doing it is in a perceived position in power. Young men don't feel in power, that's the problem and why they follow an authoritarian, fascist strongman.

Besides, the concept of "chivalry" is laughable as long as women don't keep to the same standards of purity. If men are supposed to be chivalrous, women must be lady-like. Good luck with that.
