The Doors - Peace Frog: Blood on the rise it's following me
If you don't get it, you don't.

"Peace Frog" is a song by The Doors from their 1970 album Morrison Hotel. It’s famous for its groovy guitar riff and its mix of upbeat music with darker, introspective lyrics. Jim Morrison wrote lyrics referencing themes like violence, social unrest, and his personal experiences, including a car accident he witnessed as a child. The line "Blood in the streets" is a recurring motif that reflects both literal violence and symbolic unrest, making it a song with complex, layered meanings.

Morrison was also referring to the 1968 Democratic National Convention protests with the lyric "Blood in the street/ The town of Chicago".

There's blood in the streets, it's up to my ankles (she came) Blood in the streets, it's up to my knee (she came) Blood in the streets, the town of Chicago (she came) Blood on the rise, it's following me Think about the break of day She came and then she drove away Sunlight in her hair Blood in the streets turn a river of sadness (she came) Blood in the streets, it's up to my thigh (she came) Yeah, the river runs red down the legs of a city (she came) The women are cryin' and rivers are weepin' (she came) She came in town and then she drove away Sunlight in her hair Indians scattered on dawn's highway bleedin' Ghosts crowd the young child's fragile eggshell mind Blood in the streets in the town of New Haven Blood stains the roofs and the palm trees of Venice Blood in my love in the terrible summer Bloody red sun of Fantastic L.A. Blood screams her brain as they chop off her fingers Blood will be borne in the birth of a nation Blood is the rose of mysterious union There's blood in the streets, it's up to my ankles Blood in the streets, it's up to my knee Blood in the streets, the town of Chicago Blood on the rise, it's following me

The future's uncertain and the end is always near. The best line he ever wrote.

Jim Morrison had a great voice. He just jugged a lugged too much.

I have ALWAYS loved their music. I've always wondered if JM is really still alive. The circumstances of his death are cloudy at best. I always thought it's possible R4.

No, he’s not alive. The circumstances of his death are murky because his drug dealer (Marianne Faithfull’s lover at the time) was a well-connected aristocratic type who managed to have the drugs cleaned up out of the apartment and paperwork wrapped up without an autopsy.
He was doing heroin, he overdosed, his girlfriend put him in the bathtub and passed out herself. A sad but not unusual story.
