She is naturally beautiful, graceful, kind, and a good actress. She works to preserve wildlife, restore old films, feed hungry children, and keep local opera houses afloat.

The projects she choses are projects SHE wants to do. Not what some executive tells her.

I always considered her more beautiful than her mother, and that’s saying something.

I met her a few times at the Gateway Playhouse on Long Island. She was lovely in both personality and looks.

Told this story before. Went to see a Broadway show. My friend's cousin worked the show so he went backstage after to say thanks and hello. The theatre's stage door shared some others in an ally. So I'm standing there waiting when i dropped my Playbill and it hit the ground open in the centerfold. It was a two page ad with Rosselini for Lancombe. I bent over and picked it up and looked at the person next to me who saw the whole thing and it was Isabella and we both laughed at what the chances of that happening

One of the considerable pleasures of youtube is finding interviews with old stars like Ingrid Bergman. How foolish of me not to go see her at the Shubert(I think) when she appeared there when I was young.

She's one of the few celebrities I follow on Instagram and she always comes across as lovely and down to earth. Clearly adores her family and her mama.

I'll never forget that Polish celebrity housekeeper who got arrested for stealing from her employers (Candice Bergen and Robert de Niro among others) - she said Isabella Rossellini was the only client of hers she never stole from, because she was the only one who treated her with respect.

A friend of mine lives in the same town as her on Long Island. He has had numerous occasions of meeting her (he works for the city). This friend is a crotchety guy but he can't say enough about her: Unpretentious, kind, lovely, with a quick laugh.

Blue Velvet was the first artsy fartsy movie i ever saw in my life and Isabella crooning that song in a blue spotlight will forever be part of expanding my uptight cultural horizon.

They couldn’t cast her as a daughter of a typical American family because they’d never be able to explain why she sounded the way that she does. I wonder if she ever tried to lose her accent or at least cover it up for acting. She said that she purposely didn’t get into acting or directing because of her parents. She started out as a costume designer. Then she modeled and a photographer said that she should be a ln actress because she acted for the photos he was capturing. She directs now too. She was great in The Tracey Ullman Show. Had a regular gig on the show for a while.

She was in Madonna’s Sex book and took Madonna for task over its contents. She was 40 in it and looked incredible.

She also criticized Lancome when they gave her the boot for looking too old.

It was inspired casting that Isabella played Jack's ex-wife on 30 Rock. The character is marvelous and hearing Rossellini say, "Oh dammit Johnny you know I love my big beef and cheddar." referencing some Arby's franchise they own is classic.

R99 Yes, her Instagram feed is excellent. One day she’s hauling goats out of a chicken coop and filming a nest of spiders and the next she’s on a red carpet in some bejeweled robe. This broad really lives life in her own terms. It’s really inspiring to see the quality of projects coming to her (Chimera, Problemista, Conclave). She’s very smart, fearless, fortunate, all at once.

She is great. Yes, she is a nepo baby but is very upfront about it, mentions her parents often, with pride and longing. She is a very nice and interesting person, and am happy for this second wind for her career.

And, of course, it must be mentioned that she is aging so gracefully. If she's had any plastic surgery, it's very minor. She justifiably seems very proud of her wrinkles and full figure.

BRAVA Isabella!! She was clearly raised well.

I could see Isabella winning the Oscar in a dark horse moment like Beatrice Straight for “Network” (similar minutes-long performance).

Yes r101, those were three very interesting movies she was in over the last couple of years.

Absolutely love her, and I think that she deserved a nomination for 1994's Fearless.

R88, I don’t think that she was ever married to Lynch. I read that he broke up with Isabella because he couldn’t tolerate the smell of her cooking. I have no idea if that is true or not, but it’s true that Lynch apparently had a strong aversion to cooking odors.

Lynch cheated on Isabella and ended their relationship in a harsh way, telling her over the phone that he never wanted to see her again. I’m glad for Isabella’s sake that they were able to be friends later but I was disappointed that Lynch treated her like that. I’ve seen a lot of comments from people following Lynch’s death that tend to idealize him as an affable eccentric, but he didn’t have a good track record in his personal life and sounded very difficult to live with.

R109 Lynch himself has said as much. It has to be tough to share a life with anyone that idiosyncratic. It speaks to her character that she was able to be above it and saw him for the man he was.

I loved her in Alias. That show had some crazy guest stars plus Spydaddy Garber.
