My husband read some demographic breakdowns of the early voters so far. It’s skewing heavily female. He thinks (hopes) that’s a good sign for us.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | October 26, 2024 6:05 PM |
"Today, Trump once again posted that "abortion has dropped way down as an issue." Why does he post this? It's not only incorrect, but it would seem to be offensive to a demographic he needs. The reason is simpler than you think.
Trump puts forth his own reality for two reasons. The first is his effort to influence that reality. This is anchored in his desperate need for grandiosity - influencing others. But the other reason he puts forth his own reality, is anchored in his insecurity and fears - he needs to do it in order to cope.
This is a typical defensive behavior from a malignant narcissist who knows he soon faces a moment of truth and has been envisioning his own demise (narcissistic mortification). Such a demise is simply irreconcilable to him - not only because it destroys his grandiosity, but because it'll destroy everything - all that he is and makes believe he is. He knows the abortion issue is a problem for him - a powerful issue for the Left, so he knows that issue has a chance to contribute to that demise. He can't change positions on it (he tried that for a day), and he can't leave it alone (he can't leave anything alone), so he says it's unimportant.
It's to help him cope- further evidencing: He's in decline."

*Democrats panicking for no reason, pollsters say – US race nail-bitingly close*
[quote]There are simply too many people who won’t vote for a liberal black woman from California. It’s that simple. She’s tied to the most unpopular president in polling history. These are no fault of her own. She simply has too many strikes against her. After the fallout of BLM, defund the police, and crime skyrocketing, white America feels safer with the felon as president. At times when things are out of control, historically, voters go in a fascist direction. Someone to bring down the hammer and keep people in line. Another huge problem for Democrats is identity politics. I’m still seeing the cheering for the first Native American woman or first trans person getting the party nomination, not what the person’s actual policies are. Democrats, like Republicans, both have these batshit factions now: Dems have the anti-Jew Marxists, and Republicans have the batshit MAGA. America is going to suffer because of it.

"You're a board member and you're looking at a resume for a CEO. The guy is 78 years old, weaves and rambles when he speaks, makes a lot of strange and outlandish statements while flailing his hands around constantly, often slurs his words, wears a lot of makeup and has bleached blonde, combed over hair.
He has multiple bankruptcies, has been involved in over 4,000 lawsuits in state and federal court over the past 40 years, has 37 felonies and has been convicted of sexual assault, although he says he did nothing wrong at all in any of those cases.
He says 'they' are out to get him, because he's the 'best, most honest person' and they want to destroy him because he 'tells the truth'.
Several years ago, he went viral for a video where he bragged of chasing married women as a sport, and grabbing women by their genitals without their permission (sexual assault). A week ago he went viral for standing onstage in front of a few thousand people, talking about the tremendous size of a dead golfer's genitals.
You decided to check his references, called around and found that 40 of 44 of his direct reports say they can't recommend him again, and nearly all of them said he's incredibly unfit for the job of a CEO. Nearly all of them said he's dangerous.
His right hand man at his old job, his CFO, who he personally hired, says he could never recommend him and would never work with him again and went so far as to say that he intentionally put him in a situation where he life was in physical danger from a mob that wanted to hang him.
You learned that when he was fired in his last role, he called a bunch of his friends to the office on the day he was supposed to hand over the keys to the new manager, riled them up and led them in an attack on the office. The violence that ensued had everyone terrified.
One person was even shot and killed by police, and many of his friends went to jail. He still says he did nothing wrong that day, and bizarrely refers to it as a day of love, and that his friends were just there to show how much they supported him.
He's been in and out of court ever since that violent day at the office. More videos went viral of him verbally abusing prosecutors and judges on his many cases. He actually took home some sensitive, copyrighted legal documents from his old employer, and has been freely showing them to the competition, and this is on tape as well. He says he didn't do it - but there's audio tape.
This candidate sits in front of you now, telling you he would be the perfect CEO to run your company. In fact, he says he is the only CEO that can save your company and that if you do not hire him, your company will be destroyed and gone forever.
Would you hire this man? Or would you pass?"

Vanity Fair's interview with Mitt Romney's chief campaign strategist Stuart Stevens:
Harris is going to win fairly comfortably. I think Harris is gonna win by a larger margin than 2020. [Republicans are] gonna say this election was rigged, and the Republican Party is going to fail again. And it’s going to be very, very ugly. And you can look at what these states are doing to protect [vote] counting centers, and take comfort in that, but what [the GOP] is saying is we’re preparing to win a pitched battle over a counting center.
“the Harris campaign is running what we’re probably going to look back at as the best presidential campaign ever run”
And all of these polls that show Harris getting under 90% of the Black vote are wrong. 1964, Barry Goldwater got 7% of the Black vote; 2020, Trump got 8%. That’s one point every 56 years. It’s not going to change. I can’t tell you how many times I sat at Republican campaigns with very good pollsters showing us getting 15 to 20% of the Black vote. But I can tell you how many times it happened: Never.
Trump has a really hard time making 47%. He won with 46.1%. Romney lost with 47.2% and this guy, out on bail, has won one election in his life, with 46.1%. You don’t see Trump-like candidates doing well in states like Pennsylvania.
Donald Trump is the most popular figure in the Republican Party because he is what the Republican Party wants to be. He didn’t steal the Republican Party—he revealed it. They had plenty of choices. They could have voted for my old client, Asa Hutchinson. They could have voted for my old client, Chris Christie. No, Trump is what they want. This is why they like Russia so much. They look at Russia, they got all white men in power. Don’t deal with women. They’re no gays. They have elections that are performative, but not determinative, and they’re looking pretty good. Yeah, I think all of this over-the-top anger about trans people, which is basically what all these Republican candidates are running on, is because Republicans never came to peace with same-sex marriage. They just shut up about it. And trans rights are a way to kind of try to claw that back.

R122 Where in NM do you live? I'm up in Taos County and I saw an ad for a Colorado politician last night on a local channel and it was the first time. But, pretty much all I see on local channels are ads for Nella Domenici, Martin Heinrich, Yvette Harrell, and Gabe Vasquez. I haven't seen ads for Teresa Leger Fernandez or Melanie Stansbury or the Republicans running against them. I did see an ad for Teresa Leger Feranandez when I have streamed stuff on Plex.

The funny this, r123, when that loser gets cunt punted AGAIN, the idiot qult will be furious and unable to understand why people don’t vote him.
Like how can you NOT want to live under a dictator? All the while blathering about how their “freedom” is being curtailed because a gay couple lives down the street and the neighbor hired a “Mexican” to mow the grass.
They have no idea that freedom IS marrying who you love, being able to hire WHO you want and living your life in peace without fear of being harassed or beaten for doing either of those two things.

Anyone voting for Trump doesn't care about other people's rights or safety, R125. They don't care about America and what it has stood for or the endless possibilities our country has before it. People who are still willing to vote for him, now, only care about hurting other people and themselves.

I don’t live in NM, that’s my point. El Paso is about 30 minutes from Las Cruces.
They don’t have any local channels and rely on our channels to convey their messages. During Jeopardy, during prime time , I’m sick of it.
Btw, Gabe has some good zingers about that evil cunt Harel, they show her actually saying she was happy about overturning Roe V Wade and if she could, she would’ve banned all choices for women.
Heinrich has a particularly good one about Nella and how she got rich in China at the expense of American workers and how she hasn’t even lived in the state for 50 years.

Here's even more data from the info posted at r128 in a new ABC/Ipsos poll of likely voters. This poll was just released today.
To reiterate: Harris is leading Trump nationally 51% to 47% among likely voters.
Of some interest:
Voters age 65 and older favor HARRIS by 5 percentage points. (So quit picking on the super-oldies.)
The only age group that TRUMP is decisively winning is the 50-64 year-olds, and he's winning by 9 percentage points. (Elon Fucking Musk is 53 years old.)

R129 R124 here. I see . I thought you lived in NM. I apologize I was confused.
I don't live in Gabe Vasquez's district, but I'm hoping he defeats the Harrell creature. I can't stand that cunt. Some of the Harrell and Vasquez annoy me because I don't live in that part of the state.
I sent in my NM ballot a week ago and voted for Heinrich. I think he will defeat Nella Domenici who is clearly trying to capitalize on her late father's career as a senator. I will laugh my ass if she does lose because she's going to be a political loser like her half brother Adam Laxalt who lost in 2022 for a US senate seat in Nevada.

Yes, Pete is dead. I'm 39 and I remember him because the local media especially KOB 4 (NBC affiliate) frequently did news stories on him when I was growing up. I remember he had a sister who was a nun and for some reason she was always popping up in local news stories. When I was a sophomore in high school, Pete spoke at that year's graduation ceremony. I had to attend that one because I was on the student council. I don't even remember what he said lol. I went to college in a Colorado and then later lived in Oregon and Michigan before coming back to NM in 2018. People are pretty much over Pete Domenici's legacy in this state.

Ohio here. Hamilton County, the burbs.
The “Poor white trash” and rural areas are ALL MAGATS. Yard signs, flags, hats and shirts.
The more “well off” area that I drive thru to get to work are either “yes on 1” (independent commission to draw district maps) or Harris/Walz signs.
The MAGATS are all about being obnoxious cunts. Everyone else is just going about their business.
Warren county - weeping Boehner’s old “red wall” is surprisingly not sporting as many MAGAT signs/flags as they did in 2016.
I think the Dobbs decision plus J6 turned off a bunch of voters who used to support thugs for their tax cuts. A knocked up daughter or son who can’t keep his dick in his pants is suddenly more of a big deal and could potentially cost more $$ than their tax cuts are worth.
Even though we passed abortion access in the state, the Ohio Supreme Court is made up of mostly thugs who will overturn it on a technicality given the chance.
Now add that the cunt running for Hamilton county prosecutor as a thug has stated she WILL PROSECUTE WOMEN who have had abortions.

I am also able to avoid MAGA types. My neighborhood (and my childhood neighborhood) are very white and very working class. Trump never got a real grip because people did not like his alliance with those southern evangelicals and they didn't trust a billionaire to look out for their interests. In 2020 he lost by 20+ Harris has a much easier path in the whiter blue wall than the browner sun belt. Go figure.
The few MAGAs I encounter are just dumb people who've never read a book. They like Trump because he is just as dumb so his drivel makes sense to them. They are, in the words of Barbara Thorndyke, 'limited', so they accept really simple answers like 'God made the world', 'build a wall', 'deport everyone', 'crooked' because they can't think too deeply and have no frame of reference for anything.

Walz has become more progressive over the years. His political beliefs and stances aren't too different from AOC's views.
AOC gets used for stuff like this because she's pretty. If she was a nerdy looking woman like Lauren Underwood or had weird physical mannerisms like Haley "Creepy Dollface" Stevens, she wouldn't be used for an online gaming event with Walz. AOC gets by on a pretty privilege and it's the reason the media gives her so much attention and puts her on magazine covers, various podcast appearances, and cable news appearances. If Harris/Walz lose, I hope moderate Democrats somehow get some kind of takeover of the DNC and ditch AOC and her idol Bernie Sanders off to the side.
by Anonymous | reply 238 | October 28, 2024 3:31 PM |
Walz has been everywhere. His rallies get fantastic attendance. It isn't playing "video games'. It is talking politics and the urgency to vote to an audience that they need to turnout. The kids are not watching MSNBC.
Walz was a BRILLIANT VP pick. People love him.

Harris isn't doing well with young male voters. James Carville has the theory that young college-educated white males might save Kamala because they might be the ones to care about the reproductive rights/freedom of the women in their lives (girlfriends, wives, sisters, cousins, nieces).
A couple of nights ago, MeidasTouch did a community post on YouTube about how some white men who typically voted Republican are now backing Harris because they realize that overning Roe and the abortion bans in some states are too dangerous for women.

Kamala and Tim are reaching out and trying to attract new voters while dump and his cunts are holding literal Nazi rallies and REPELLING most voters (and PEOPLE).
Dump isn’t trying to win any new voters or get them to the polls. He figures if all he does is depress Democratic turnout and do dumb shit to “own the libs”, he’ll have the incel/retard vote locked up and win.
Newsflash - there are more women than men in this country. And women are fucking furious and wanting to vote.
There’s a reason you see a huge early vote turnout among women in the early voting states.

[quote]As the presidential contest enters the final sprint, campaign aides and allies close to Kamala Harris are growing cautiously optimistic about her chances of victory, saying the race is shifting in her favor.
[quote]Top Democratic strategists are increasingly hopeful that the campaign’s attempts to cast Donald Trump as a fascist — paired with an expansive battleground-state operation and strength among female voters still energized by the end of federal abortion rights — will carry Ms. Harris to a narrow triumph. Even some close to Mr. Trump worry that the push to label him a budding dictator who has praised Hitler could move small but potentially meaningful numbers of persuadable voters.

[quote]I stay far, far away from attempts at interpreting the early vote. It’s still relatively new at this scale in many states, and the partisan vote mode trends (like Republicans overwhelmingly voting on Election Day in ‘20 and not by mail) can bounce around a lot from election to election. So there’s not a great basis for past comparisons in a lot of these states. And if one party is showing what looks like a surprisingly strong advantage in early voting, maybe it just means that the same party will be surprisingly weak when it comes to the same-day vote, which will cancel the early vote out.

I am stuck working in KY at the moment and the local news here has way too many reporters openly complaining about having to cover Tim Walz. It comes off as extremely unprofessional and makes it hard for me to take them seriously. There is once NBC anchor in particular that makes a point to say in every teaser "I suffered through Tim Walz's visit so you wouldn't have to, I'll try to tell you what he had to say if we can figure that out."

“Colour the World” is a song by Sash! featuring Dr. Alban, released in 1999. The track promotes themes of unity and racial harmony, encouraging listeners to “make this world a much better place” by embracing diversity and understanding.
The song’s message of inclusivity and unity may resonate with progressive values, which some Republicans might find conflicting with their own political ideologies. Additionally, the song’s popularity in the late 1990s could be seen as a symbol of cultural and social changes during that period. Consequently, certain individuals with conservative views might feel uncomfortable with the song’s promotion of diversity and unity, leading to their disapproval.
It’s important to note that not all Republicans hold the same views, and opinions on cultural and social issues can vary among individuals. While some might find the song’s message bothersome, others may appreciate its promotion of unity and inclusivity.

He has nothing to lose by demonstrating the cold, hard FACTS to the undecided/low propensity voters who have probably not witnessed such unvarnished hatred located under one roof ever in their history.

From a National Security analyst, former DHS agent:
"GETTING READY. I've been privileged to assist across this country as a subject matter expert in protecting the rights of ALL Americans to vote and so I have some transparency on what is being done. It might calm folks a bit. A thread on anticipating the sh--show ahead.
Each security plan has essentially the same goals: 1)mitigate risks to personnel and property; 2)a system to identify risks, determine their veracity, and communicate internally and externally; 3)dedicated team members who are focused on threats only and can communicate/decide quickly; 4)keep focus on GOTV.
There are prevention protocols you would expect (doors locked, lighting, videos) and outreach to law enforcement early and often to anticipate threats to offices, personnel, and polling locations all while allowing organizers to not get distracted and to focus on GOTC.
There is a tremendous focus on internal comms. A lot of disinformation is going to be thrown into the mix, trying to disrupt the GOTV efforts or voters who may believe it. Trained "strike" teams are in place to determine what is real, what needs law enforcement, and what needs to be refuted.
There are separate emergency incident plans in case something is real and life or property are at risk. All active situations are for law enforcement.
The greater likelihood is non-emergency incidents and they will vary. States are divided into regions and regional heads will be responsible for keeping both the state and national efforts aware.
The "GOTV go kit" strategy is in place. There will be lots of bomb threats and work cannot stop each time. Offices are ready to simply evacuate if a sweep is determined necessary, and move tables and computers to another facility (outside/coffe shop, etc) until clear.
Finally local and national media are well aware of what it likely to happen this time and there is considerable outreach in this regard as well. I can't say it is perfect, certainly it is horrible to have to think this way, but folks are not sitting by waiting, wondering. "

Musk ia going really hard astroturfing two facts with very dubious twisted interpretations. He is going on and on about the betting markets predicting a Trp victory- betting markets can be easily distorted to give a preferred impression in order to give momentum to Trump. Secondly the figures for early voting of registered republicans claiming this points to an inevitable Trump win when infact many registered republicans have indicated they will vote for Kamala. Registered voters are not owned by parties the way this dangerous logic implies. The combination of betting markets and early voting figures do not no matter what Musk promotes mean a Trump victory is inevitable and a lack of win means it was stolen. He knows that but continues to mislead and frankly abuse his so called free speech platform for wall to wall propaganda.

Biden was unhelpful but... what he said was in reaction to what happened on the weekend, which had about 36 - 48 to solidify and was part of a unique flood of awful even for them. Biden just doesn't compare to that. Even if he meant all Trump voters, the remark was prompted by a terrible thing in any thinking person's view.
Hillary's deplorable comment came at a different time. Trump was new and novel and his coalition was gelling. It's different now.
Harris has distanced herself from it already this morning. There's not much more to get out of it. Something else will come along by this afternoon. The economic news and the Virginia court ruling is already dominating. The Biden story is present but not prominent on CCN, WaPo and NYT's websites. The NY Post is going nuts, as it Fox, so there you go.
Trump can't hammer a consistent message so his ability to capitalize on this is limited by himself.
I think Biden is a distraction that doesn't have legs and does not offend any important constituency. Better not to have the distraction? Yes, but not a game changer. Most people will probably agree with Biden. No undecided voter is going to be moved by this. It's not important enough.

I thought the same thing if Trumpsters are so fucking tough then they shouldn't be offended by the garbage comment. A bit OT, but I thought back to 2016 when Trumpsters were saying that children were too soft and need to toughen up. Then later after Trump won, he announced that Melania and Barron weren't going to move to DC right away and were going to remain in NYC so Barron could finish out the school year. The Trumpsters were all over social media defending Trump. You know if the Obamas had pulled something like that in 2008 and said "Michelle and the girls are going to remain in Chicago so the girls can finish out the school year". The Obamas would have been castigated.

I saw that too. I will admit that I don't feel bad for that guy. I am convinced that Trump could be converted into a raging leftist in about 30 minutes if a big titted blonde (duh) with a Harvard degree (he's a sucker for fancy degrees) sat down with him. He's dangerous because he has no ideology and can be so easily swayed with flattery. Musk is far more dangerous and Trump is his trojan horse.

Yeah, when I see those undecided voters panels and they say something idiotic like, "I need to learn more about her policies", I always think to myself, "so you managed to find the time to arrange coming on to this segment (sometimes more than once) but you can't be assed to set aside 45-seconds to scan the policy section of her website? You could have done that while you were sitting on set waiting to film."

I would not be surprised if other first world countries send people over to monitor this election as they would for some third world shithole. We're a laughing stock. He must be defeated, Moses Mike must lose the House and the adults must regain control. Let Trump take his act to Vegas.

Good thing Josh Shapiro is in charge in PA. And the Attorney General is a Democrat.
PA’s Secretary of State (Commonwealth), who ultimately oversees elections, is a Republican. But that position is appointed by the governor. So Shapiro could fire him if any election shenanigans are pulled.

To put in perspective, the sample size for any poll is 500 to 4000 respondents. This cycle's polls have overcorrected for Trump support. What the Capitol Police Officers endured had to be beyond nightmarish. And I'm sure the videos we've seen don't even begin to do what they went through, justice to the event. And this was at their workplace, at one of our most scared institutions, and done by other Americans. People who always claimed to have their backs!
I saw that there was another "guilty" plea today from a J6er. The total of "guilty" pleas is now over 950. That's a lot of guilty scumbags from Trump's "Day of Love".
And those are just the poor(er) people who terrorized the Capitol J6, not the organizers or the rich ones that Garland is supposed to "get around" to eventually.

Kamala and Tim are both good people and you can tell because they cannot find anything on them. You have Musk and Russia desperately looking for 'gotchas'. Kamala was single for 50 years. It's been hilarious watching them try to start something from nothing. Last night Fox was showing a clip of Kamala yawning! That's how boring and ethical and moral they both are. We're ending the campaign with SHE'S YAWNING and they both had sex as single people in 1992.

In a statewide election, EVERY vote counts. You can turn counties less red and win statewide. Shapiro knew this. That was his strategy to win PA and he’s been helping Kamala do the same.

I don't think we've ever had an R643. Election interference! They're coming for DL now!

Instagram video of the Dem governors who dressed as Tim Walz doing their best Tim Walz impersonations.
I hope Wes Moore ends up on a presidential ticket someday.

[quote] Elon Musk says Kamala Harris will put him in prison for life if she wins the election.
I don't think he needs to worry about prison (unless he has some undisclosed tax fraud problems or he misused some of the $15 billion the government paid him through SpaceX.)
But Wired magazine points out another problem Elon may have involving US citizenship:
[quote] Elon Musk Could Have US Citizenship Revoked If He Lied on Immigration Forms. The richest man in the world appears to have worked in the US without authorization. According to experts, if he did so and lied about it as part of the immigration process, he could be denaturalized.
Yeah, that isn't going to happen. But it will tick Elon off that he's lumped in with illegal immigrants who cheated the system.

I wish the government would look into Whorelania Trump's immigration records.

Saw a cute little video of Dougie Emhoff and a very giggly AOC hanging out together in LAs Vegas...for GOTV, of course. They were very friendly. Dougie is having the best time ever on the campaign trail, yes?

Pussy move from the archives. If they don’t know history, then who does?
You NEVER acquiesce when it comes to these types. It only gets harder.
You have to resist from the first second.
