She is a passable songwriter and very mediocre singer who was in the right place at the right time, and benefitted enormously from the fact that Lindsey Buckingham spent countless hours rebuilding her simple melodies into coherent songs. Then, she slept with the right people and collaborated with the best producers and songwriters available in order to build her solo career. The fact that a woman of such limited talent is considered a legend is proof that in show business, luck and marketing play a much more important role than actual musical ability.
