Is everyone into freestyle artist Sa-Fire? I’ve been a fan of hers ever since her debut self-titled album appeared in 1988.
Sha-Fire.

I'm an eldergay. Never heard of her.

I loved his column in The New York Times!

R4 If you were en elder gay you would have heard of her. You must be ancient. Or flyover. And it’s just jokes. I’m sure you are still a hot daddy.

Here, eldergay. Does this help? I still listen to Nyasia and George Lamond periodically.

Love me some classic freestyle

The only freestyle artists I know of are Shannon, The Cover Girls and Lisa Lisa. Never heard of this chick.

I loved freestyle at the time (still do). I liked her, but if I made a list of my favorite performers she would be pretty far down. When that sappy ballad of hers, "Thinking of You," came on the radio I changed the station immediately.

She was alright, but my favorite was Emma-Rald.

I loved that album when I came out. I liked a lot of the freestyle singers/songs of that era and still play them from time to time.

Pardon my puke.

LOVE Emma-Roid!

Extremely telling autocorrect, r15.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 19, 2024 6:18 PM |
I don't know her.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 19, 2024 6:19 PM |
I'm an eldergay and have never heard of Sa-Fire or others on this thread except Lisa Lisa (and Cult Jam with Full Force).
by Anonymous | reply 18 | October 19, 2024 6:22 PM |
R16, that wasn't an "auto-correct," Miss Douche.

I also liked Sweet Sensation and Seduction, which I think were releasing music around the same time as Sa-Fire. It Takes Two, by Seduction was a total ear worm.

She looks like Temu Liza in OP's pic.

It might be hard to find out if everyone is.... but I'd like to think so.

I still really like her cover of I Will Survive from the She-Devil soundtrack. I remember at the time it was released JCPenney had video monitors stationed around their stores and the music video used to play frequently

I remember Sa-Fire's "Dancing on the Fire". Latin freestyle had its moment in the late 80s - there was some good stuff. Others are cringe on re-listening.
I also liked Cynthia "Why Did You Have to Change on Me".

I liked her from Boy I've Been Told and followed her for a few albums but her thin voice really struggles to hit notes and that's not an endearing sound, long-term.

Do flyoverstan gays even know freestyle?
by Anonymous | reply 31 | June 3, 2025 1:33 AM |
I like some of her songs, but her voice comes across as whiny/crybabyish.
Her background singers sound better than she does.
