Bette Davis- WHAT A DUMP!

This scene was originally shot with a drunk Helen Lawson but she kept cursing saying- What a FUCKIN dump!

The director got fed up with her intransigence and fired her from the movie which was recast with Davis saying her most famous line.

[quote] Bette Davis was so unhappy over being cast in this film that she threatened Warner Bros. studio chief Jack L. Warner that she would walk off the production with the picture only half finished. Warner was forced to cancel her contract and Davis completed the film, ending 18 years with the studio.

Now free from Warner Bros., she was available to step into a role originally belonging to Claudette Colbert. Colbert broke her back and had to withdraw from playing Margo Channing. Bette famously played the part in All About Eve, one of her most iconic roles.

She should know from dumps. She's been thrown out of so many.

It was a nothing line until Mr Edward Albee immortalized it in his play.
