They are so often Brazilians. A bit odd Jones still uses X, but I suppose he's allowed to let convenience trump principle, unlike those he attacks.

Starting off his 40s with a bang!
by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 16, 2024 4:15 PM |
I'm really happy for him/them. Even if this makes him 10% less angry, it will be worth it for the rest of us in his audience.

Who is this "Miss Owen Jones"?
Did I not get the E-mail?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | September 16, 2024 5:29 PM |
Am I a bad gay for not knowing who the hell this person is?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | September 16, 2024 5:34 PM |
Seriously R5, am I a "Bad Gay man"? Should I know this person!!
I cheated on my BF, but I asked permission from him first& he said he wanted video. I always give the BF what He want.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 16, 2024 5:45 PM |
He's British and a prominent media person. If your world doesn't extend that far, then no, you probably won't have heard of him.
Can gays not get married in the UK? The "civil partner" is cuter than Owen deserves, if you ask me.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 16, 2024 5:55 PM |
Owen Jones is arguably Britain's most annoying and insufferable champagne socialist.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | September 16, 2024 5:58 PM |
Aw, parabéns, boys!

So is the Brazilian a real doctor? Or only a doctor in Brazil
by Anonymous | reply 10 | September 16, 2024 6:10 PM |
UK here.
Civil partnerships were introduced while there was still a lot of wrangling (especially from the churches) over the status of marriage between people of the same sex.
It remained an option after equal marriage was legalised for people who didn’t like the historical associations marriage had. There were unsurprisingly, right on straight people kicking up a stink because they didn’t want to be seen to uphold traditional marriage. Straight people can now have a civil partnership. I bet the receptions are a barrel of laughs.
Owen Jones is a pain in the knockers. He is only having a civil partnership to show how progressive and anti-patriarchy he is.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 16, 2024 6:16 PM |
In the photos Owen Jones has the long horseface associated with Ozempic use, which is weird because he's never been fat.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 16, 2024 8:06 PM |
R11 To be honest I suspect the reason Owen and his partner had a civil partnership is because CPs are completely secular. Many atheists view even civil marriage as having (albeit weak) connotations to religion.
I think gay marriage should have been legalised from day one, but CPs were invented to appease homophobes and there was no putting the genie back into the bottle.

Who?
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 16, 2024 8:22 PM |
Strange he refers to his new, er, "civil partner" as "this Brazilian doctor..."
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 16, 2024 8:25 PM |
Good for him. However, can your Brits please find ANYONE more likable to speak on behalf of us?
Every single time he's on any show, I almost want the other side to win! (Not really, of course.)
That's how much that man irritates me. Such a whiny, sniveling guy.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 16, 2024 8:32 PM |
The UK has a majority who are non religious. That has been the case for many decades. The Church of England is the Established Church, but it’s becoming less and less relevant.

What's with taking pictures in the dunny on your wedding day? Is it where they met?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 16, 2024 9:31 PM |
How big is his uncut schlong?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 16, 2024 9:32 PM |
One of his big moments was 8 years ago when he got fed up with the hosts of Sky News during the coverage of the massacre at the Pulse (gay) nightclub in Florida. He got angry and walked out because he believed they preferred to see this as an attack on all of humanity and not just the gays.
The intensity starts at timemark 2:00.

He is insufferable, even when right. Also, he married during the weekend but has been tweeting non-stop. If i were his partner, the Brazilian doctor, i’d be pissed off.
Also, the shared wedding photos are very tasteful: one in a public bathroom, another cutting the cake in front of a creepy male mannequin without pants.

Why not married?

Who the fuck is Owen Jones???
by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 17, 2024 1:40 AM |
Who knows. Some gay porn model I guess
by Anonymous | reply 27 | September 17, 2024 1:42 AM |
I know tons of gay Brits who are married. The civil partnership is suspicious. Owen is a creep, a grifter, and an antisemitic cunt who throws tantrums like a pussy.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | September 17, 2024 2:15 AM |
Civil Partnership?
Did he get knocked up?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | September 17, 2024 2:29 AM |
We had a civil partnership because it offered the same rights in law as marriage, which was not yet an option. We treated it as a wedding and had a great time.
When equal marriage was passed into law, existing civil partnerships could be converted to marriage retroactively from the original date.
This is what we did. It was a simple paper exercise with an official from the local authority. We had already had the huge party, so we went to our favourite restaurant afterwards.

R32 he blocked me years ago after one mildly mocking comment. He's such a brittle flake.

The term “punchable face” may get thrown around a bit loosely now, but he’s still a prime example.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 17, 2024 8:20 AM |
I used to like him, but his over the top denouncement of the Labour party since Corbyn was ousted put me off him. Now he seems determined to slate them at every turn. I still don't have the dislike many seem to have of him, though. He puts up with a lot of abuse, whereas worse people get away with a lot less.
But that aside, it's always good to see happy gay couples getting married/civil partnered.

I used to enjoy his columns in The Guardian, but he's someone who hasn't grown with time. He's 40 but still writes with the zeal of an undergraduate.

He posted a really long thread the other day about being stalked. It sounded a bit hyperbolic like most things he writes.
