Dave Bautista shows off his pearl necklac

Dave Bautista made a dazzling arrival when he walked the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday for his latest film, “The Last Showgirl.” The wrestler-turned-actor, popularly known for his role as Drax the Destroyer in “Guardians of the Galaxy,” embraced a tailored silhouette, thanks to his role as the soft-hearted Vegas show producer, Eddie, in the Pamela Anderson-starring film.

Bautista wore the Gucci GG Cotton Viscose Formal Suit and Pant in black while walking the red carpet. Featuring a blend of cotton and viscose, the suit, which Bautista previously sported in July during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” offers a subtle sheen and allover logo. He finished the look with a dark gray, boat-necked shirt underneath the jacket, and shiny black dress shoes.

He paired the breathable suit with a slew of accessories. He wore Gucci sunglasses and layered four strings of pearls around his neck. The strands also featured sections of three diamonds, offering a shimmering touch to the pearlescent sheen.

He also wore a silver watch on one wrist and a gold diamond-encrusted bracelet from Jason of Beverly Hills on the other, who Bautista has also worked with previously. He layered this gold bracelet with an identical one in silver.

Bautista has favored Gucci for quite some time, particularly the brand’s patterned jackets. He wore a cream-colored version for the premiere of “Dune: Part Two” in February. On “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” last month, he wore the Gucci Horsebit wool silk jacquard jacket from the cruise 2024 collection in burgundy. As he’s promoted both “The Last Showgirl” and “The Killer’s Game,” throughout the summer, he’s been spotted wearing the brand’s metallic jacquard cotton-blend cardigan.

Bautista’s costars Pamela Anderson, Kiernan Shipka and Brenda Song also opted for all-black ensembles. Anderson deconstructed the Rat Pack’s Sin City glamour in a black suit with feminine twists, complete with pointed-toe heels.

Would you be a happy boy or a girllllll? 🎼

by Anonymousreply 6September 10, 2024 6:07 PM

R1 I don’t think he’s gay but he was raised by lesbian moms and is definitely a strong ally.

by Anonymousreply 7September 10, 2024 6:16 PM

Meh, pearls don't look good against a backdrop of tats.

by Anonymousreply 8September 10, 2024 6:27 PM

That outfit is a coming-out statement.

by Anonymousreply 9September 10, 2024 6:31 PM

Pamela looks deranged.

by Anonymousreply 10September 10, 2024 6:32 PM

He looks like an old Palm Springs queen

by Anonymousreply 11September 10, 2024 7:16 PM

First thread was better

by Anonymousreply 12September 10, 2024 7:20 PM

Dave has been single for five years.

Maybe he IS coming out.

I think he looks lovely. Any man who presents super butch can get away with a froufrou outfit without looking prissy. But shouldn't a strand of pearls be layered in odd numbers? Or has fashion changed?

by Anonymousreply 14September 10, 2024 7:27 PM

He looked so much better when he was muscular.

by Anonymousreply 15September 10, 2024 7:29 PM

He also looked so much more masculine before.

After careful consideration, I don't like it. It makes me think about what kind of transgendered senior citizen I would be. Definitely not a pearl necklace type, I'd be more, shuffling around the alley in a dirty house coat, carrying a pie tin filled with cat chow type.

by Anonymousreply 17September 10, 2024 8:22 PM

I guess healthier doesnt always mean hotter.

[quote] What in the hell is Jamie Lee Curtis wearing??

Probably a cock ring.

by Anonymousreply 19September 10, 2024 10:40 PM

Stunning. Simply stunning!

by Anonymousreply 20September 10, 2024 10:43 PM

No R9, that outfit is simply tacky. Who has told him that combining a polyester/cotton blend T-shirt with an ill-fitting damask suit, grandpa glasses from the 1940s and patent leather ankle boots, is a good idea? Not to mention that the necklaces look like they have been made by a bored housewife during her first Beaded Dreams lesson in her local community college. Oh, and let's not forget that the tattoos make him look like a greasy pimp.

I agree with R15: muscles make everyone look infinitely better. And with Dave Bautista's face, they are indispensable. It's only too bad that he's been forced to stop taking steroids to avoid an early death.

Not that different from guys who where puka shell necklaces.

R14, not sure but you don't find many layered strands these days unless you're the Queen!

by Anonymousreply 23September 10, 2024 11:44 PM

Is a Necklac anything like a Teacak, or just a plain old Cak?

Yes. Yes it is that different.

[quote] Dave Bautista Is 'Training Hard' to Stay Trim Because 'I Look Like a Gorilla' Next to Other Actors

When it comes to staying lean, it's all part of the job for Dave Bautista.

The former WWE superstar, 55, shared during an appearance on the Tuesday, Sept. 10, edition of the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast that he "absolutely" focuses on staying slim to avoid being too "distracting" on camera.

"I started trimming down for a particular reason. Why? One, I started trimming down because I just got fat," he explained, expressing that he had gotten "uncomfortable big" for his starring role in the 2023 thriller Knock at the Cabin and weighed "around 315 pounds."

"When I was younger, I was carrying lots and lots of muscle. This I had to put on like you know, between films," he recalled. "I had a very short period of time to put the suede on. I packed it on with french fries and pancakes."

"That's how I did it, and the director [M. Night Shyamalan] asked me, he said, 'You know, I don't want you to look like a powerlifter. I just want you to look like a great big guy,' " continued Baustista. "And so now, looking back at it, man, I probably overdid it."

"I was probably a little too big, but at the time, I was just thinking, 'I got to get big, got to get big, I got to get big,' and I put an uncomfortable amount of weight, and it took me forever to shed it out," he said.

Trimming down ultimately made him feel and look "better" on camera next to other actors.

"It's weird because people think, like for me, people say, 'God, you're skinny.' I even saw online some people are worried about my health, and when I say out loud to people, 'I'm 6'4", 240 pounds.' It sounds like when you say that out loud, it sounds like I'm a big person," he said.

"But to me, because people have seen me so much, so you know, so much bigger over the years, and you know, they think I'm anorexic," continued Bautista. "But I'm still just a large human being, so at 6'4", 240 pounds next to your typical actor, I look like a gorilla, and it's distracting."

"I’ll probably lose a few more pounds. I’m basically killing myself to be this trim," he said. "I’m training hard.”

RuPaul already has this covered, Dave.

by Anonymousreply 29September 14, 2024 7:55 PM

Kill it with fire.

by Anonymousreply 30September 14, 2024 8:20 PM

Raised by lesbian moms. Strong LGBT ally. What's not to love?

And I'm guessing the 315 pounds was stressing his heart.

by Anonymousreply 31September 14, 2024 8:23 PM

Admit it, OP.

You'd pay a lot of money to give Dave a pearl necklace.

by Anonymousreply 32September 14, 2024 8:57 PM

R26 those particular tattoos are very late 90s/early 2000s scene queen.

by Anonymousreply 33September 14, 2024 8:59 PM

I am convinced that Dave is probably gay, R33.

by Anonymousreply 34September 14, 2024 9:04 PM

Rumor has it the Hollywood scene you wear a pearl necklace to show that you are DL and down, Like the old earing left or right ear thing,.

by Anonymousreply 35September 14, 2024 9:10 PM

I like him. He seems like a genuinely sweet guy and most guys like that cave in to the toxicity of a hypermasculine environment like bodybuilding and wrestling. He's still jacked compared to 99 percent of men his age.

by Anonymousreply 36September 14, 2024 9:12 PM

He's actually older than The Rock. I assumed he was younger because The Rock has beena round for so long.

by Anonymousreply 37September 15, 2024 12:16 AM

[quote] I am convinced that Dave is probably gay, [R33].

It's not a murder mystery. His mother is a lesbian and he's a grandfather. If he is gay, I don't think he'll be doing too much handwringing over it.

by Anonymousreply 38September 15, 2024 12:47 AM

He’s dressed like a discount Lewis Hamilton

by Anonymousreply 39September 15, 2024 1:24 AM

Needless to say, I want him in me, quite deeply.
