Hey Tasteful Friends, Andy Cohen is moving a few blocks in the West Village

Will the nacreous layer of coke and permacum be repurposed as the home cinema bar's backsplash?

How is he so rich?

I think that the success of those atrociously insufferable Real Harpies of Plastic Surgery shows, which he produces, is what has made him become extremely wealthy R2.

I hate the gold disco ball. I might feel differently if it were silver.

I’m sure the play dates referenced in the article didn’t always include their kids.

Is that a fruit cellar?

The decor is almost certainly eye-wateringly expensive - I personally don’t love the one part Liza Minnelli to two parts Romper Room look, but I get that for a certain type of Gen X er this sort of look is sort of “design but make it comfortably nostalgic”. You’re half expecting one of the studios that’s been grated on to be given over to action figures or a Ms. Pac-Man machine.
The views would be spectacular, but I have a feeling that even with all the architectural stick-handling, it’d still feel like a hodgepodge of satellite apartments instead of a cohesive home.

Looks like the new place is well designed for one of his little ones to recreate the Carter Copper leap off the terrace. Andy’s efforts to become a Vanderbilt can finally be fulfilled.

Thank you r11

r11 I absolutely love it. It's a style that I could never come up with on my own, but would want an interior designer to help me find. I wouldn't change much.
He's going from a $14 million home to a $4 million home? Bravo must really be ready to fire him.

It's a child's idea of glamor.

The new penthouse (DO) is lovely. Redecorated and furnished it's a superb space.
The old duplex is terrible no architecture yo it, just odd leftover spaces cobbled together, low ceilings, underwhelming and erratically spaced fenestration, and an ugly walnut and glass stairway. The better parts look like a duplex library in a real estate law firm. The dr oration tried so very hard -- to be gay and cheeky and ever so edgy, and yet dull as someone's grandfather's den in Palm Springs.
The kitchen is the nicest space in the old.place, though it could use some.improvement.

Yep, he's panic downsizing...

Looks like nice library of celebrity cookbooks and celebrity biographies

He bought the new place for $18 million and his old place is on the market for $14 million. Andy is trading up, of course.

I don't hate it.

New apt has nice outdoor space but that's it. Inside is not interesting, nothing special.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 5, 2024 4:44 PM |
The place he's selling is so specific to his taste that I can't imagine he'll get asking. Four units merged into one? As someone in the comments said, whoever buys it will likely break it up into four units again and make a profit on the sales of each.
No way that place will get asking though.

Not bad for someone without an ounce of talent.

Love both places - but the privacy and outdoor space of the penthouse - plus views - is a Manhattan unicorn. Those don't go up on the market - ever.
The new place will be redone - it has 0 style right now.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 5, 2024 9:13 PM |
The old place has .5 style…
by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 5, 2024 9:20 PM |
The new space is great, with lots of potential, but considering the decor in the old place, it will probably be spoiled.
