We used to think Posh looked like a man.

In every singing group, there's usually one or two who do the heavy lifting, vocally. I think in the Spice Girls it was Sporty Spice, who was otherwise the least interesting Spice Girl.

Given how they looked in their heyday, I would have thought Ginger would have morphed into Rita from Coronation Street by the 2010s. Full credit to her, she looks better now than she did in her 20s.

Halliwell really softened her look. Softer make-up, toned down hair color, more creams and neutral colors versus garish, loud outfits. It really is a terrific look for her.

I used to think Sporty was unattractive but now I think she's quite pretty.

The subsequent generation of British girl groups (All Saints, Girls Aloud) were probably better-looking, though equally unimpressive in every other way. The only naturally pretty (though still skanky) British girl-group member seemed to be Cheryl Cole, IMHO (cue overly flattering VOGUE pic).

Scary, Baby, Ginger, Posh, Sporty. Scary and Baby were gorgeous, the other three were pretty.

I'm trying to remember if the media's specific obsession with Posh above the other girls pre-dated her relationship with David. I remember her being highlighted as the only one whose performance in Spiceworld: The Movie wasn't a total embarrassment.

Yeah, Posh stole the movie right out from under the others. She actually had a knack for comedy.

If you changed Baby Spice's hair color, I don't think people would find her that attractive. Her face is cute, but I think it's the blonde hair that people are responding to.

r33 Maybe she didn't fit my beauty standards during the late 90's. Or she's had good work done since. Or she changed her make-up. Or she's one of those people who just look better as they age. I suppose it's at least one of these reasons.

I had no idea these ladies — after answering a sketchy audition call — lived together for a year in *sketchy row house and attended singing and dancing lessons daily.

They deserve their fame.

Music snobs back in the 1990s would talk with disdain about "manufactured" boy bands and girl groups (as opposed to music acts that came together "organically," after placing an ad in the back pages of the Melody Maker or NME). The Spice Girls and Take That were the ultimate manufactured acts, both with a Svengali type pulling the strings. In the case of the Spice Girls, it was Simon Fuller ("Svengali Spice").

I wish that Ginger would have never left and that they would have stayed together longer and made more albums.

Ginger, Baby, Scary, Posh, then Sporty. Ginger (Geri) really looks great today, so do Emma and Mel B. Sorry, but Posh was never that pretty and she and Mel C. haven't aged well.

Ginger has become a Stepford wife wearing only white or (daringly) off-white outfits while playing house in the country wife to a bad toupee-wearing cheater. But hey she married money so yay.

I think Emma was styled better after she left the group. She looked beautiful in the videos for "What Took You So Long?" and "Free Me". Still not as attractive as Mel B, though.

I don't know WTF Mel C was thinking when she bleached her hair. She looked much better as a brunette.

Mel B has lost her looks to too many procedures and a receding hairline.

One of the lamest things I remember hearing on mainstream radio in the 90s was the *news* that Mel B had married and changed her name to Mel G.

Mel C = Homely Spice.

They're Englishwomen so the bar only goes so high. The most beautiful is a Cleveland 7, at best. Isn't Mel B. Drunk Spice these days? They should hold the next reunion in a pub so she's sure to be there.

I mean, if she lived in Cleveland, she'd be a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10. Comparatively, if she lived in NYC or Los Angeles, she'd be a lower number because those cities have a larger population of attractive people, so a Cleveland 7 is an LA 4. An LA 10 is the highest you can go, though a Sydney 10 is probably comparable.
