Trump campaign volunteers in New Hampshire are being told it's "no longer a battleground state"

I just saw that, OP. Awesome news. Harris, Walz and Biden are working hard with events in multiple states on Labor Day.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | September 2, 2024 10:21 PM |
Trump and Vance took Labor Day off from campaigning - they spent the day at Mar A Largo (according to one news report).

Good, but vote like Kamala is 20 points behind. Don't get lazy, don't be complacent = get out there and vote.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | September 2, 2024 10:26 PM |
Sorry, meant to say Kamala should campaign like she's 20 points behind.

Harris an Walz each have a net-positive approval rating.. for now. When is the last time we saw that for any major party nominee?!

As Joan Rivers would say - explain this to me like I was stupid. What's a net-positive approval rating ? Never heard of this - and why is it important ?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 3, 2024 12:47 AM |
Are you dense, R16? It means that in approval polls, their positive numbers are higher than their negative.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 3, 2024 12:51 AM |
The T-Rump campaign DENIES that NH is unwinnable and has FIRED the staffer who said to give up on it.

[quote]In the email, Mountain, a former official with the Massachusetts GOP, said Trump was "sure to lose by an even higher margin" in New Hampshire than in 2016 and 2020, citing "campaign data/research."
This is going to happen in every state he lost in 2020...losing by even bigger margins. His base has shrunk due to Covid deaths and elderly dying off, and independents/moderates are abandoning him.

For some reason, my U.S. Open coverage switched mid-match last night to a New Hampshire outlet (I’m in Boston), and, my gosh, the ADS. Coming from both Dems and Repubs, nonstop. How do you NHers put up with it?

I’m hoping the Trump mafia abuses and fires many more state volunteers. Hurt people hurt people and they have plenty of volunteer victims as their reign of mongoloid assholism fizzles out.

by Anonymous | reply 31 | September 3, 2024 2:43 AM |
R29, in terms of campaign volunteers, they actually don’t. My understanding is that, in keeping with the lack of Trump campaign resources on the ground, they only have like 18,000 campaign workers nationwide. While Harris/Walz has like 200,000. The Trump campaign closed all the field offices and don’t have the resources to mobilise volunteers. This seems to be why most observers think they plan to win the election in the courts - but let’s be honest, they’ve always been outflanked there as well, if anyone remembers their shit show efforts from 2020. The Democrats are all over this, including recent events in Georgia.
Meanwhile, the chairwoman of the MAGA GOP continues to commit crimes against music. Two months before Election Day.

This is some of the worst pandering we have ever seen from Kamala Harris."

Yeah Jack, this is Faye Dunaway... Look I've raced some of the stuff from the O'Neill interview but I'm not really interested in Terry O'Neill - he's a BIG, BIG LIAR and I'm really not interested in in him and you know all and dilly-dallying and carrying over Mommie Dearest...I don't even want to discuss it in my interview or on this Lloyd-Webber thing: those are NEGATIVES and I notice that you have nothing in about Marlon Brando, you have nothing in about Johnny Depp which I did two films with, I don't expect you to get get him for an interview, but you could put some footage in of the of the Kusturica movie which I was BRILLIANT in and it was not well sold in this country you can talk about the Marlon Brando film that I was wonderful in. All the POSITIVE things along that that period, the Marlon Brando film was going on at the same time that the Lloyd-Webber STUPIDITY was going on and you all have to put in the Lloyd-Webber STUPIDITY, you can't put in that I worked with the wonderful Marlon Brando and talk to the director of that movie FOR CHRISTSAKE! And I'm not gonna approve it and I'm really upset now because that uh for two nights now tried to thread through that STUPID interview with a with a man that I will not even waste my time discussing. And and you know who, suffice it to say, stopped working when he married me and pretended to be my manager for a very long time so LET'S NOT EVEN GO THERE! It's very upsetting to me! And then to put my uh our child in JEOPARDY the way he has. So I'm not interested in these NEGATIVE things that you all are putting in there with me in! I don't want Llloys-Webber in, I'd like you to cut him out, and I'd like you to really trim down everything to do with that Mommie Dearest, I'm not gonna talk about it, maybe one thing I'm gonna say about it and THAT'S ALL. It's just like uh you know an obsession, why can't you be obsessed about POSITIVE THINGS?! About Marlon Brando? About the Kusturica movie that was THE HIT OF ALL THE EUROPE AND CANNES? About uh, the film I did with Brando and talk to that, YOU KNOW?!

Is there any scenario where Trump knows he can't win and flees to Venezuela citing fear for his life or that our country has been taken over by commies. He could escape punishment and still play golf with the thugs there. He did say that if he lost he and his family would go to Venezuela. Maybe he should just go now and truly and completely fuck the Republican Party.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | September 3, 2024 1:32 PM |
I have not seen NH listed as a battleground state this election cycle. It's been blue leaning.
I wouldn't put too much stock in this development. It would be better if they decided to do the same in AZ, NV, GA, NC, PA, WI, or MI (pick two--PA and one other).
by Anonymous | reply 50 | September 3, 2024 1:54 PM |
R48, I've always assumed that if Trump loses he'll announce the Trump Tower Moscow is back on and that it's such an important project he's going to Russia to personally supervise it.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | September 3, 2024 1:58 PM |
I don't think Trump is going to flee. I don't even think he is motivated by a fear of prison. (And let's be realistic, please: he is NEVER going to prison.) He has gotten away with shit his entire life, and has no expectation that, at 78, things will suddenly be any different for him.
People who think he is going to flee, or that he fears prison, are considering Trump's situation from a normal, psychologically sound perspective. Trump is not normal and far from psychologically sound. He perceives the world and his place in it fundamentally differently than you or me.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | September 3, 2024 2:10 PM |
R50, you say that because you are still caught up in “reality.” Logically, Trump shouldn’t have held out much hope for NH. Trump should have done what the staffer recommended and redirected whatever money and people he had to Pennsylvania. The fact that the message was leaked to the press, and that Trump announced that he had the staffer dismissed, is just further proof that the campaign is a mess.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | September 3, 2024 2:44 PM |
For NYT, every state is a "battleground" one. And that includes Massachusetts, New York, and California.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | September 3, 2024 2:48 PM |
Sadly central and northern NH are TRUMPTARD territory. Like endless signs- even homemade ones... However, the population density there is non existent.
Still way too many signs for Trump in southern NH and here in the seacoast, but I have faith in my boring state.
But fuck, I would rather take Pennsylvania and have NH go full red state-
by Anonymous | reply 55 | September 3, 2024 2:53 PM |
It's not over until it's over.
And don't discount someone doing something stupid that calls into question the validity of results in various states that allows them to use the Supreme Court - hanging chads anyone - to steal the election.
Sure, prioritize resources, but three months is a long time and vigilence is still required.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | September 3, 2024 2:54 PM |
Trump would never flee to Russia. I'm betting he's already had talks with that fat fuck beige savage Maduro in Venezuela about getting set up luxuriously down there if the time comes he's in fear of imprisonment.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | September 3, 2024 2:57 PM |
If Trump flees the country and is a fugitive from justice (at least for his felonies in NY), can his assets be seized or frozen? I'm sure he has ample funds in overseas accounts, but would he risk his real estate empire?

New Hampshire likely to go to Harris.
Why that's bad news for Joe Biden.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | September 3, 2024 3:18 PM |
[quote]He has gotten away with shit his entire life, and has no expectation that, at 78, things will suddenly be any different for him.
While no one can argue that he has, in fact, gotten away with shit his entire life, that is coming to an abrupt end between the 34 convictions he's already faced, 58 on the horizon, and once the election is over (assuming Kamala wins, of course, which is by no means assured and we must fight like she's down by 10) you'll see a totally different Donold. Without the powers of the presidency, Dotard is fucked, royally so. He announced his campaign to avert prosecution, which didn't work. The cases have progressed despite the courts and The Court being corrupted; just look at the fact that Jack Smith filed a superseding indictment complete with a whole new grand jury, and you can see that the legal challenges he faces are not going away.
However, I disagree with the idea that he won't flee. He's been courting dictators and oligarchs for years, owes most of them money, and can simply tell them if he's in prison they'll never see another dime from him. I don't think he'll flee to Russia but instead try for Dubai, Venezuela, or even Hungary (although I don't think the Slovenian whore will accompany him to any Eastern block country; she sold everything she could to escape from one). I think he's going to try to set up an "administration in exile" operation, continuing to meddle in American politics and foreign affairs for as long as he can. Grifters gotta grift, after all.

Anyway, I agree that it's not over till it's over. In fact, I don't have a great feeling about the election at this point. R64, it probably won’t give you any comfort, but I’m a psychic and got my “read” on this election back in March. Democrats will win.
They will also pick up the Electoral College votes of a state that is on nobody’s radar at the moment. My prediction has remained unchanged since March even during the most doom-and-gloom post-debate period this summer.
I correctly predicted Biden’s win in 2020 and was off by one electoral vote.

But I will take a psychic's vibes any day. I don't think these are potentially damaging or will make lazy folks not vote at all-

I am no expert but I will go out on a limb and say if he flees prosecution or imprisonment, to a foreign country, there is no damn way the US is going to provide him with Secret Service protection, and I doubt they would even continue his pension of $226,300.00/year. I’ll hope for Ohio, too, R75. Ohio has a special place in my heart when it comes to national politics.
My mom and dad always become TV junkies when the two major parties held their conventions, so over and over again as a kid, when it was time to take floor votes, I would hear the chairman of the Ohio delegation slowly intone, “Ohio passes,” because, we guessed, Ohio was big and had more votes to count than the others.
With the result that even to this day it seems to me that Ohio votes are determiners of the fate of the nation.

I have predicted every election correct since Reagan over Carter in 1980 with the exception of Bush/Gore, but there it's hard to say who really won although history implies that Gore would have won if he had the same kind of legal representation in Florida that Bush had.
Unless something off the charts happens between now and election day, Harris will win. The seven swing states will remain close but Harris will pick up Arizona and North Carolina. She won't need PA, which is the one she's most likely to lose.
And like someone else said, there may be a surprise in one of the overlooked states. Maybe Alaska. Not likely, but possible.
