After watching the promo, I think I can take a week off from watching the show. It may be better than they make it look but that is a dull slog that I cannot imagine anyone getting excited about.

I am not a fan of the Body and Soul storyline (or Ron's attempt at OLTL's Fraternity Row story), but it has had some funny moments thanks to Dee and Judi, who have embraced this and seem to be having quite a lot of fun with it. I'm also happy they finally gave Johnny and Chanel something to do.

Also, I think Ron is going to use this story to shade some of the shows he's worked on. How much you wanna bet that the actors on Body and Soul hatch a plan to get rid of Leo the headwriter, just like what happened to Ron?

Some of Ron's writing has been extremely good, even compelling. He has created some very interesting and fun interactions between characters. Leo and Marlena/Hattie has been a real welcome surprise. EJ and Gabi have worked better than I would ever have thought. Connie has at times, chewed the scenery but had some memorable scenes and Melinda has finally been given an opportunity to show us how good she is, and I hope she will be spotlighted more down the road. Chad and Leo were great together with an underlying current and sexual tension. But Chad and Abigal are beyond dull, Brady is obnoxious and as much as I love Xander and Sara, his temper and raging has become tiresome and predictable.

"Body and Soul" is probably Ron getting his revenge on Soaps that have betrayed him, much like Blake Edward's "SOB" was a slap at Paramount for the way "Darling Lili" was handled by them. I guess he is entitled to that, but it does not compensate for the increasingly dull stretches that make me want to take a week or two off.

I enjoy some of Ron's work, but his instincts tend to always lean towards camp and over the top, which I can appreciate. However, I don't want a soap that's just that. The 80s are his playbook and it gets to be a bit much. In these days of tight budgets and basically live-to-tape shooting, all the shows need to go back to smaller, more intimate storytelling. I was watching GH the other day, the one remaining soap that still, mostly, looks good, but they were doing some kind of casino story that was just laughable. None of these shows have the kind of cash to pull that kind of shit off.

I wish they'd keep doing Beyond Salem a couple of times a year. It presents an opportunity to see characters in a different light from the norm and to keep up with past characters. I never watched DOOL until I caught Beyond Salem.

I think Days should partner with Homegoods and sell a line of Connie Viniski Steak Knives. I'd buy a set, especially since the holidays are just around the corner.

All the stories since Ron's return from the strike have his touch, but seem stretched mind-numbingly long from what would normally take a month into many months. Could be the new(er) EP, or it could be an attempt to stretch material out for budgetary reasons. Before the strike (and the Alarr mess) things were humming along. Now weeks go by without any movement.

I was so embarrassed for both of them to have to do that scene.

How did this Body & Soul crap ever get a green light from Peacock?

According to Queen Jason47, Days has already recorded next July 4th episode last week! So Peacock will have to decide very soon if Days continues beyond next September since they’ll be recording next Septembers episodes in a few weeks. I bet they announce a renewal at Day of Days. The show has been #1 or 2 on Peacock many times in the last few weeks. Today it was Peacock’s #1 tv show when I watched it at about noontime.

They've been canceling Days since 2009. I think the show does what it needs to do. Peacock is sponsoring Day of Days, and it's usually in their top ten shows. I think it's okay.

Dee and Judi look like they're having fun. The same dress thing must have reminded Dee of when she wouldn't change the color of her dress because Susan Lucci was wearing the same color, forcing Susan to change. The storyline is not perfect, but it's totally meta.
